I met Elvis in Las Vegas 1970 at a party after his concert on the top floor of the Hilton. I was on my honeymoon and my wife and I met one of his bodyguards “Memphis mafia” Sonny West in the elevator. He gave us tickets for the show and also invited us to the after party just because we were from Australia.The concert was unbelievable and we were excited to meet him after the concert. There was about 60 to 70 people there including Sammy Davies junior. When Elvis walked in with his 6 bodyguards the room went quiet. Girls were staring guys were speechless! I remember saying to my wife who is this man, he had presence, charisma and he was a true gentleman. He shook my hand and kissed my wife (she was never the same..lol). Called me sir and my wife name and he spoke to everyone in the room including the waiters. We were there for about 2 hours and before he left he came back to us and said I want to come to Australia one day but wasn’t sure when. What a night! I’m 92 today my wife Anna is 90 and we still talk about that night 50 years ago today. Take care and stay safe.

You're absolutely correct in one of his last concert he performed his new song at the time called hurt and at the end of that he literally blows the roof off a building with his vocals absolutely amazing I've been an Elvis fan my whole life then the Graceland twice that's something you've got to see if you're ever in the Memphis area or nearby and was lucky enough to see him in concert three times once in a lifetime Talent

He was in excellent vocals but his choice of material was not uplifting. Not good for new fans........... I also don’t normally suggest this last concert in 1977, as he was ill........... BUT there were a few good songs he did better than when he was healthy. These songs are: How great thou art; Hurt; My way........
He never got over Pricilla and I think from that point on he was depressed and that's also why his drug use picked up. Alot of those songs in 77 were new and written by Red West After his break-up!
