  • Hi, I am building an extreme off road 4-motor monster truck with the performance of the sport's car, for people with low budgets. Watch the trailer video and the explanation video to understand the full scale of it! In this episode, we continued to dismantle the chassis, and after a lot of struggle we disconned the 1-ton front axle! Don't miss our other episodes, it is a lot of fun, and it will help us to make this channel sustainable. You can also help to support this channel by buying our black t-shirt (only $25 each including the shipping from Europe), or with small contributions through the links below, and we can feature your name or your company name in the credits of the next episodes! Thanks for watching, Peter

      Thx Marty, the good thing is, that the assembly will be easier, the only light things will be mounted to the heavy axles...

    Wow just found a video of your in front of the Tatra factory and I called my eye you animation in the opening, so I came to try to see what it was all about, it’s pretty interesting but more sucking yet it’s to see that you’re are doing everything by yourself, at first I thought it was like a whole team of mechanics trying to accomplish such ambitious project. 👏🏽 👏🏽

    The more you take apart the less I understand how the rebuild will fit together. 😁
    But no matter, I'm sticking around to find out...

    You could use bottle jack horizontally to pull it apart.

    • @offroadelectric9457
      @offroadelectric9457  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know, there are a lot of tools I can use, but the expenses rrelated to making the videos are my preference before expenses into the tools.

    • @glebius0
      @glebius0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@offroadelectric9457 But you have bottle jack, it is shown right in this video. You just needed to attach it to a long piece of wood, and then use it as a spreader.

    • @offroadelectric9457

      @@offroadelectric9457 There should be a position when oil would go into the plunger. Probably with the pumping handle down. Anyway it is too late - you already had disassembled everything.

    Dont cool the bolts down with water. U got real lucky. I own a autoshop in a salty snowy rust belt in ohio and we use oxy/accetylne and get them glowing red. U want the heat on the nut so it can expand. Using water basically shrinks the metal down again.

    • @offroadelectric9457
      @offroadelectric9457  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, the goal was to break the corrosion in the threads, and it works perfectly. I couldn't heat up the nut from all sides, and this torch is not strong enough to keep up with the heat absorbtion into the chassis. Peter

      Ur doing an amazing job, i just work on really really rusty stuff. Look into a miniductor they are a good solution for heat without good access.

    Good trick with the heat and water. I've never seen that or used that. Water shrinks the nut which seems counterproductive, but you can't argue with results. Maybe the heat and cold creates a corrosion break in the threads, facilitating removal. Either way, it works, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. That Tatra is built like a brick shithouse. Cheers from Canada.

      @offroadelectric9457  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pete, exactly, the corrosion break in the threads was the goal. And the parrot wisegrips are amazing tool.

      @kschleic9053 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@offroadelectric9457 are those center bolts replaceable now that you have them removed? I would worry that the heat+fast quench would change the material properties and make that bolt a lot more brittle?

    • @offroadelectric9457
      @offroadelectric9457  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kschleic9053 No, they are not replaceable. You got the point, but they were not red when heated because of torch limited power, and the bolts are not taking much stress during the operation, so I assume they will be fine.
