say have you ever thought about slapping a turbine on one, I know they take a bit more time to throttle up but they put out tons of noise and can run on any liquid fuel, or a snake bite that uses a flash boiler, could call it steam snake? food for thought heck one of the best pressure vessle makers in the USA is right there in Saint Louis called continental fabricators food for thought eh? just tossing that out there for you I always wanted to built a monstertruck and slap a jet engine or turbine on it, but I have not the funds to build such a thing, nor the knowledge of turbine engines but something I wanted to do as a kid of the 80's and 90's
I understand your opinion, and it is shared by some people. However, when BIGFOOT #8 first came out back in 1989, it had mufflers on it, and it was very quiet. No roar, and people still loved it.
Not only have you created new innovation, do you realise you have made RC cars far more realistic and scale. You have changed 2 industries in 1 go. Bravo!!!
Neat to hear the cars getting crushed for once. Love the sounds of them breaking and the tires crunching them, just like I do with high heels on models.
I understand what you are saying, but this is just a concept truck. It is a long way from replacing what we do with our other, alcohol trucks. I think the idea of it, though, is inevitable.
Neat concept! Have you continued development of electric trucks? Battery and motor tech have been advancing in leaps and bounds since this, would be neat to see what you can do with it!
For show i think thats nice , but it cant survive long enough for cargo transportation , esspecially for cold weather or snowy roads. Its battery should allways on for defrost
Oh, great point! Driving Bigfoot on the street as a regular commuter car in winter would be impractical because of the energy lost by running a heater. 😂🤦♂️
MJ does not hire us to appear at their shows, and they have not done so since about 1998. All they have to do is call us to book one of our trucks at any of their events at 314-731-8112 and ask for Kim or Bob T.
If you want the roar of the engine, watch Bigfoot #1-19, 21 and 22....this is innovative and very cool...No one said it would "take over" the MT world. It was just something different that the creator of Monster Trucks decided to try. Whats wrong with that?? Think how easy it will be to transport this in and out of venue's for display purposes.. I think actually hearing the crunching of the cars sounds cool! Great job Team Bigfoot!
LMAO as a wrench head hearing something having any torque at 0 RPM it's hilarious. I've been into electric cars for a while but seeing that written in front of my eyes
Pretty neat to hear all the crushing without the roar of a big block, has some good torque as well. Won't catch on for the sport. People LOVE the deafening roar and the intoxicating fumes. Cool project, though.
It was really something special to have Jim drive something again. I don't care what other people say, I really do like this truck. Awesome job team Bigfoot!
electric car is super powerful. you will know that if you drive one. the torque will shock you. it feels like having a gas engine running in high RPM at anytime when you step the pedal.
More torque than a gas engine at high RPM even. Electric motors are torque monsters, that's why the drive to the wheels of trains and large earth moving equipment is done with electric motors. The big diesel engine doesn't drive the wheels, it just generates electricity.
We are not hired to participate in MJ. However, we do many shows that have freestyle, including Monster Nation, Toughest Monster Truck Tour, Monster X, Checkered Flag Prod., Special Events, and many more. Go to our web site and navigate to the events page to see where we will be appearing. We do have a video game out with almost all of our BIGFOOT trucks. It is called Monster Truck Destruction. It is currently available for iPhone and iPad, and will be our on Android very soon.
Hello, We are in the process of building two trucks and it is great to see that an iconic truck like Bigfoot is leading the way into the world of motorsports that has surely shocked many that have seen it . Great job and congratulations .
I have to admit that the newer SUPERDUTY body style looks awesome on BIGFOOT! I am sure many Bigfoot fans would love to see it on top of the Bigfoot race trucks! So many of us SUPERDUTY owners would love to see Bigfoot line-up against the chevy and dodge competition with the new Ford body on it! Looks awesome! Good Job!
hmm what is this madness, I mean dont get me wrong Bob Chandler has done many firsts in large truck automotive competitions, and has the tallest monster truck with bigfoot 4 or 5 that uses the land train tires, but what is this blasphemy where is the roar, even a hydrolic press makes more noise working metal in a forge shop, punching out metal or running a press brake, even a regular car crusher or shredder is more visceral and makes more noise, I mean I think its great and all to experiment, but a monster truck should roar, even if it ran a steam boiler like one of dobbals cars from the 1920's period had lots of power and not long to get it warmed up, but I doubt it would take the abuse the boiler that is of the jostling that a monster truck does, and its why the water tube style boiler steam locomotives leaked constantly and did not work well compared to the regular firetube boilers they have most often, heck this might as well be air powered if bigfoot is going to be this quiet.
@@konarider1215 its not diesel its a gas actually methol alcohol engine, there is a differance, though monster van did use a diesel moter a detroit diesel I belive
I had a power wheels Bigfoot monster truck as a kid. Seeing this reminds me of that childhood its just this monster truck is 10x's bigger than the one I had, and at the time I thought mine was cool. There is no words I can think of that describe how cool this is technology at its best!
They are only 1 of many monster truck event promoters. We do business with pretty much all of the other ones. We are all over the place and have averaged over 700+ appearance days each of the past few years now. To find out where we will be, go to our event schedule on our web site.
Honestly, if they threw some electric monster trucks in at a normal monster truck show I think I would he just has tempted to go see it. You got to have that Roar of the regular trucks though in there
Very cool, what kind of motors and controllers are you running? Is it series dc? Please, do a walk around video explaining the parts. This is just the type of thing to make people realize the power an electric motor can have.
well just the same the truck looks amazing, I had the pleasure meeting one of your drivers Darren Schnell he is awesome down to earth guy, hope to one day meet Jim or Dan
while it was quieter, it still had a strong performance sound. and nothing can replace the sound of the blower whine that will not be there. i also hope this doesn't replace the blown engines. the sound of the performance engines at truck and tractor pulls as a kid is what sparked my love of cars and trucks that i still carry today many years later.
I enjoyed it actually. Electric powered vehicle were historicaly the first cars, this bigfoot is taking revenge over the ICE cars. Technologically it proves that the motors and batteries on such a big and heavy vehicle are usable. And I like the sound of the two cars being crushed ^_^
Wow! Watching this thing is like having your Tamiya CLODBUSTER turn into a real full-scale monster truck! It even sounds like a radio-controlled model!
Incredible!!!! I wouldn't have thought it could be done, thanks for proving me wrong BIGFOOT. Still the 1st in monster truck tech. Seems strange not hearing the roar of a supercharged V-8, I'd have to get used to it. Still... very awsome.
We are actually quite proud of this truck!
I would be too
Sounds sic haha electric engines can still scare me. The ones for para motor omg lol
This has been 12 years, think of the advancements since then....goose bumps to think of what could be built today.
Who knows where the industry will go, but if you don't do everything you can to lead and try new things, you will get left behind.
say have you ever thought about slapping a turbine on one, I know they take a bit more time to throttle up but they put out tons of noise and can run on any liquid fuel, or a snake bite that uses a flash boiler, could call it steam snake? food for thought heck one of the best pressure vessle makers in the USA is right there in Saint Louis called continental fabricators food for thought eh?

Sir apparently the electric world is wayy powerful now,MUM cars beatin some heavy gasoline loud mouths
Y'all should put an engine sound kit in it at the right volume to be loud and efficient
Hope this isn’t the future

While you may be right in some of what you said, this IS a technological advancement in the monster truck industry.
I understand what you are saying, but this is just a concept truck. It is a long way from replacing what we do with our other, alcohol trucks. I think the idea of it, though, is inevitable.
This is actually pretty cool especially considering this is an innovation coming from the very people who created monster trucks.
It's first performance is this weekend (02/8-10/13) in Kansas City, MO.
Neat concept! Have you continued development of electric trucks? Battery and motor tech have been advancing in leaps and bounds since this, would be neat to see what you can do with it!

In this testing session we ran it for about 20 minutes and it could have gone more.
Sounds good, but have them ask for Bob Trent or Kim Schroeder. Thanks.
Nope. We do not allow ratings on any of our videos.
We are not 100% sure yet, but the torque end of it could probably at least be comparable.
None other than Jim Kramer!
MJ does not hire us to appear at their shows, and they have not done so since about 1998. All they have to do is call us to book one of our trucks at any of their events at 314-731-8112 and ask for Kim or Bob T.
We are not sure yet, as we have done very limited testing so far.
Currently about 800, but can be tweaked a bit to get over 1000.
While we plan on showcasing this truck in the coming months, it will be some time before this is the standard.
About 50 years lol. Stick to ice trucks please
Not currently, but we might test this out down the road.

Thta is just 350 HP (260 kW), but it has over 800 lb-feet of torque and at zero RPM!
I love it

@@kylekyle1805 more like 1rpm. It’s just instant and amazing.
Yes, they own most of the trucks that run in their events.
It was here at BIGFOOT and we posted numerous messages about it. Sorry you missed it.
AWESOME !!!!!!!!
Can only imagine how much torque that thing has with electric motors.
Very cool! It's like a 1:1 rc. I still got to have the loud motor and the smell of race fuel. Cannt wait to see it in action.
Jim wanted to actually, and the decision was made a little easier in that we have no additional driver right now to fill the seat.
Pretty neat to hear all the crushing without the roar of a big block, has some good torque as well. Won't catch on for the sport. People LOVE the deafening roar and the intoxicating fumes. Cool project, though.
True, its what Motorsport is all about
We are always taking applications.
It was really something special to have Jim drive something again. I don't care what other people say, I really do like this truck. Awesome job team Bigfoot!
There are no immediate plans to use this truck in competition. We still have a lot of research and development to do with it.
It really give a whole new aural experience to monster truck car crushing. :)
This is awesome! I think this could really have an impact for the sport sometime down the road. Love the paint scheme as well!
No, there wasn't enough room to really open it up.
Nice to be able to hear the cars crunching under the tires.
All those batteries are pretty heavy. We have not been able to weigh it yet.

Can't wait to see more of this truck, awesome concept!
1:1 scale RC :) awesome !
1:2 scale RC is the next step.
Not sure yet. We have not had time to test.
If anyone was going to do the first electric monster truck, I knew it would be Bob Chandler and Bigfoot! Way to go guys!
this is exciting, being a hobbiest and into rc trucks for some decades brushless and battery technology is amazing.
Sure!
congrats to the king. this is the leader in MTs so nothing less than perfection and they always deliver
Not sure of this yet.
Why not?!
I can't wait to see this accelerate off the line where there is space to really get on it
Love it, Bigfoot still the king of trucks
electric car is super powerful. you will know that if you drive one. the torque will shock you. it feels like having a gas engine running in high RPM at anytime when you step the pedal.
reminder: diesel train engines are actually using electric motors. They can generate phenomenal amounts of torque right at the wheels in an instant.
More torque than a gas engine at high RPM even. Electric motors are torque monsters, that's why the drive to the wheels of trains and large earth moving equipment is done with electric motors. The big diesel engine doesn't drive the wheels, it just generates electricity.
True, I have driven a Bolt and it was very quick. I probably will wait for awhile but as long as I can tune it, and put a cool sound on it, I'M SET!
Nothing is better than the real deal of a monster truck

what was the weight trade-off of going from the combustion engine to electric - (including batteries)?
*_I love it, It looks a 1:1 scale Traxxas Monster Truck to me!!_*
An electric monster truck? Hmmm that's different. But the snap crackle pop of the cars is the loud part :).
Probably about 1000+ ft./lb. on torque, not sure on HP yet.
I never thought I would ever see an electric monster truck and it just goes to show the Bigfoot team will continue to innovate and surprise us,
Hello, We are in the process of building two trucks and it is great to see that an iconic truck like Bigfoot is leading the way into the world of motorsports that has surely shocked many that have seen it . Great job and congratulations .

Agreed
Let's just hope this stays a novel experiment and doesn't become the real deal
yeah hearing the big diesel engine rev up as the cars get mashed is what it's all about
