I remember I bought 100 dollars of VC in 2K18 and that lasted me almost all year, and got me 3 builds all maxed out with a ton of clothes/tattoos/accessories. Now 100 dollars is barely enough to max out one player without and shoes/clothes/accessories/boosts, and the fact they have a battle pass is just insane to me. Haven't touched this franchise since 2K22.
I’m not buying the game this year. The community has a large fault in this too. In 2k23 and 2k22, you could play through the first 25 games plus college and get 100k vc. They got rid of all of that on 2k24 because the garbage community wanted to just drop the money on their builds. I vividly remember everyone complaining about the hot dog hat. Too bad I don’t have a voice and a following in anything that happens. I spent way too much time on the game (1200 hours) from September 2023 - May 2024 and most of it was in the boring sunset park because it took an unreasonable amount of time to get VC
Glad there's someone out there still wishing for an offline career mode. I always loved the PS3/360 2K games because it had a sense of progression of you getting drafted and becoming better as seasons go on. Paying to instantly become an 85+ is the dumbest thing ever, but it makes them money, so I get it. It's just unfortunate for those who enjoy the feel of career progression. There is no career in 2K anymore. I also despise the fact that you can pick your favorite team and instantly play for them - that's also not realistic at all. I remember doing great in the Rookie Showcase only to find out the team I like isn't even going to interview me - that was fun. Whatever this is now - isn't.

Life tips 1: Dont buy 2: If you want an offline career mode, put your player into a draft and when he gets drafted switch to that team and player lock on him Its not as in depth but if you want to play your guy its the best way to do that. Also the ai is better.

Please people, vote with your wallets. for half a decade now I’ve been saying don’t by this trash franchise, I quit a while ago, do I miss playing a ball video game YES undoubtedly, but nba2K has become such garbage I can’t excuse spending on it. What you don’t pay for in money you pay for in time, and you respect yourself enough to value your time. There’s nothing about his franchise that screams “we respect our audience, their time and their love for our game”.. I know it sucks and for some of you, you just want get home play ball after a long day I get it, but the experience won’t ever change coz 2K aren’t incentivised to. We’d have a better product if we banded together to demand change, but it doesn’t work if people are still buying this thing, even for just one mode.
