WOW. I know I stop too soon bc I have to idea how to continue. The trick seems to be how much is too much, but how much is not enough! This video is very helpful in that regard

I often find when I am teaching students stop to soon - perhaps because they are satisfied or because they have fear of messing it up.

Probably both but at that stage, it could be lack of knowledge. Can’t envision a better crisper picture. Practice, practice😅

I've just found you and I love the free way you paint.
I struggle with being loose, I get caught up in detail and procession.
After watching several of your videos and being inspiredI'm going to use my larger brushes and see what happens, thank you for sharing your prosses 🙂

You can do it! Bigger brushes are one of the keys to painting looser. (Remember to myself!😊🫠!)

I loved watching this develop. I have two “people” paintings that have been in progress for months. You have inspired me to work on them.

So beautiful! I really appreciate what you say about cooler and warm and making the ratio not the same.

Love the work. Beautiful energy and colors. What kind of isolation coat before varnish do you use ? Thank you

I use Golden soft gel with some water added to make it more fluid.

I am 80% done with my first figurative painting and I was just wondering how to know when I'm finished and HOW to finish it! ❤

For me it is a feeling. I hang it and gaze at it -the observation gallery (not in my studio)-for a few days. I put several layers of satin medium on it to seal it and level out the sheen.
