so if this is the show they opened for Weezer then after that show they went to the Euclid Tavern to see a local band they liked called the Heathers. As i was walking out of the Euclid Tavern and crossing the street both the full band of Weezer and the full band of Lush were walking across the oposite way to the Tavern. I could not believe my eyes lol. I turned around and went back into the Euclid Tavern and eventually struck up a conversation with the drummer of Lush. My friends and I talked to him all night. It's sad that he eventually took his own life.
My boyfriend back then went to Germany and happened to see Lush there. He took all these photographs of her and experimented with changing color schemes in the film, and he said every picture came out with the same bright red in her hair. :)
You're very welcome & thanks to all you fine people leaving the nice comments. I can't take credit for the filming, only the sharing, so I too thank the point of origin as it was 1000x more of a chore to shoot a quality video in those days! Kids today, they don't even know ;)
@@robwoods3732 Very cool! Is that one uploaded too? Any others that you videoed? Not asking so much for TH-cam, but just as a fellow concertgoer in this era. I tried to shoot a few, and always got shut down. Never got thrown out at least, but never got anything worth keeping. Thanks again!
Had a tremendous crush on her when I was a teenager blasting Spooky! Their earlier shoegaze music is still without comparison. Ethereal, exotic, light and heavy simultaneously, with unique song structures.
Dont know about that. After the emma interviews of the revival of 2016, she confessed she was decided to go out of Lush. Two or three days after she said that to phil and miki, the 3 together without chris, because chris was in the parents home, chris killed himself. I think this was the reason why he killed himself. Knowing emmas going out, and possibility the end of Lush. Then in depressing mood he killed himself. But if even he not killed, emma, as the brain of the group, giving up, you really think Lush survive so much time without her?
Don't think they got the recognition they deserved at the time - wasn't really until 1996 that they gained proper mainstream attention with the release of Ladykillers which I used to hear about on radio 1 late show.
I missed them , was a big fan, they sold out right away when they opened for Cocteau Twins.I had to settle for show two with Mazzy Star, still bugs me a little after 30 fucking years. Where does the time go,never to return😢,except a fuzzy but not bad clip, with big head and hat in the way😅
Thank you for pointing out that 12 string guitars have been used on stage before. I've even done it myself. I should have specified who is able to play an electric 12 string on stage with all that distortion and keep it in tune for a whole set? Thanks again guys.
She was fine but then turned super old overnight. Want to know why she doesn’t do anything anymore? Well she killed her voice with cigs. She now sounds like the old woman with the cigarette voice. It’s a damn shame.
There’s videos on here of them playing live just a few years ago, and she sounds fine. Yeah, Miki’s older and without the striking/sexy cherry red hair - but you make her sound like a hag now, and I just don’t see that.
lunarvision yeah I heard that. She sounded a lot better than I thought she would have. I made this comment before I learned of their reunion and I stand corrected.
Miki's book is incredible, plus it's sent me on this trip down memory lane. What a beautiful, powerful performance. Lush forever!
Whoever recorded this back in the old days. Had one hell of a camera picked up everything perfectly thank you to wherever you
Words can’t describe how beautiful this song is
It almost hurts

You wouldn't think they could capture that soundscape live, but they pulled it off. Now that's musicianship 👍🏾

Lush is the band, not the singer.
@@ThreadBomb uh so
@@ThreadBomb I was gonna say that!
Saw Lush in 1992 and what a great band, we were so lucky in the 90's to have these great artists, very unique sounds
Lollapalooza?
ugh the ending always gives me chills
Always moves me too
@@jasonroberts2249 check out a video of them playing a fest in Belgium from 1996! One of the best sounding outros for this song ever!
That this exists at all is a miracle! Thanks so much for sharing!

I filmed this show!! Not easy. Security was tight and my camera was rather large. Cannon Ucs5.
@@robwoods3732 You sir are a legend! Thank you so much!
@@timwilson9243 I also filmed them in 1996 at the same venue.

Saw this tour in New Jersey when Lush opened up for Weezer. Lush was so bloody epic that night!
In Cleveland, Weezer opened up for Lush. Weezer's performance was short and uninspiring.
Probably better than Weezer 😅
Still crushing on Miki after all these years. And they reproduced their songs live which is mind blowing. What a band. I miss the 90’s so much.
I don't know that I've ever seen Miki with long hair like this. Spectaclular.
Saw Lush in Toronto back in mid90s. Amazing concert with Weezer.
so talented ❤️
Wow they sound fantastic live!!
In the 90’s most touring bands had talent. Not only songwriting buy performing.
I was there!
Just incredible
I was there! Amazing show. Thank you for posting!
Why couldn’t I have been alive back then
omg saul goodman
Saw them at the second Lalapalooza . They were great !!!
Over 25 years ago now... where did time go...

ohhhh mi corazon!!!
Shoegaze is so great man
I was there that night. It was a great show.
Damn she's fine
I got a kiss on the cheek from her at a festival in New Orleans 26(?) years ago. I wore that story outfox years. 😄
Very sexy 👀😾

Think what you want but I'm pretty sure that if Chris was still amongst us Lush will be still around today as well.

amongus?? sus?!
I think Chris told them that Miki and Emma earned more as they were the songwriters . Family told him to get a real job.Maybe. Tragic 😢
There’s a great interview with Miki on the Curious Creatures podcast with Lol and Budgie.
SAW THEM IN UTRECHT THE NETHERLANDS around thew first records

I like Phils hair
Better than the record version even
You’re taking a piss
I'd be right at the bloody front
when i'm up ur comin down

Well that was a heck of a performance
I’d pay to hear this performed today🥹👌🏿
Ugh. 30 years ago. Who's watching in 2025?
Incredibly hot
Never knew this song was about sex
Me either i was like 7 playin this on rockband lol
A good a shoegaze as any!
cherry glazzers older sister?
you guys realize she's playing a 12 string? Who can do that live??
Roger mcguinn, Anton Newcombe, sonic boom and Andy bell to name a few
A lot of people do that

@@MrJohnpfisher who cares?! Lush are great
9/8 metre in verses. Else 6/8.
aaaaaaa
I wish Emma still looked like she used to be
I wish I still looked like I used to but hey, that's age innit
Miki is still good looking
If heaven exists, it’s a ménage a trios with Miki and Emma in 1991
But IMO Emma and Miki still beautiful in 2022
