I can still remember my first introduction to Lush, via the radio... KNDD-FM out of Seattle, in the late summer of '91. I played the heck out of my cassette copies in college in the early '90s, and the same for my CD copies of their albums at Uni in the mid-'90s. 33 years later, and despite sadly never having seen them perform live, I'm still as big of a fan as ever. I did manage to get myself one of the Origami LP box sets, back when they briefly reformed in 2016. I missed out on seeing them on that tour when they came through Seattle, as I just wasn't in any position to indulge in other luxuries like concerts at the time. "Would've, could've, should've..."
Thank you! I miss those days as well; I would stand right up against the stage, so I could see the distortion pedals they used, haha. My did pay the price, though...
Totally! I've never had the chance to see this in the states, to grateful for this upload. They seemed to get along so well, no wonder their music was so beautiful.
@@arthurgerber When I first heard Lush on college radio, I had yet to hear My Bloody Valentine. So me they are the legends, although Cocteau Twins are certainly owed a huge debt of gratitude for being amazing.
@@lolgrant I've just been reading Miki's book. Emma was dating Kev in 1987, believe it or not. And she was working for Creation's publicist at that time too.
I wish we could all be this young again.
Yeah watching this makes me feel that as well… how can it be thirty years ago???
Same thought exactly
Genius comment. So succinct
Oh the '90s.....love them

Chris was such an inventive rhythmic drummer. A gone too soon tragedy 😢
Terrific band Lush, and awww those were the days, fans right up to the front of the stage. These barriers nowadays piss me off.

Chris 👍🏻 Class Tune
Just discovered this band -- 30 years after I should have had them on my radar. Fantastic. Love Miki!
loving me that old 12 string electric.....
Really nice to hear them, all, talk.

Brilliant band!
Good times back then.
Dreamy with the Spiky. Nice.
f***ing amazing!
Love this band so much!!
its pretty clear from their interviews that they hadn't yet really figured out what made them so good.
This pleases Orcus
Brilliant!? Are you kidding me? I am WITH you all the way! To you both,❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved them in 1989 but I wasn't aware of the debt they owed to MBV.
More influenced by early Cocteau Twins. Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins produced their first album.

They weren't influenced by MBV as much as the Cocteaus, Throwing Muses, ABBA, 60s pop, House of Love etc.
If you read Miki's book which is brilliant btw it talks of the pre Lush period when Emma was going out with one of MBV. I forget which one.

SOO WIKKID
The early days of Lush when they were actually good.
They stayed good.
@@WuwuWuwuTV ha ha, MB3 are dreadful
@@Music-oi2nf Disagree. I like their latest song.
@@WuwuWuwuTV go for it. I’ll bet you also find crosswords and Sunday walks after lunch exciting.
@@Music-oi2nfSorry bro. Didn't know you were so sensitive. I'll be nicer.
Spot Kim Deal
The thing that always held lush back was the woefully out of tune singing of berenyi
Poor copy of the Cocteau Twins.
Watch yo mouth big nga..
