Thats what I'm wondering. Plus, if I see my little girl being exploited by someone like Wuncler or however you spell his name, I'd start swinging real freaking quick. I can't believe Tom sometimes.
...I agree with Chris, Marketa and Rana. Yall are real ones. Protest happens because "the state" (which includes our mostly idiotic news media machine) cares more about businesses and enterprise and money than the common folk/people who are seen as "lesser". People riot and start destroying shit and, by extension, small business get caught up in this. This will always happen especially when the riots/protests stem from issues which hit very closely to people's unchangeable identities, for example, their race. It doesn't happen purposefully, most of the time, it happens organically as protesters are met with disproportional force by "the state" and those who purport to be protectors of all those within this system; and when those in office with the power to enact change sit on their hands; and when the media chooses to focus on the potential monetary damage these protests could cause. So, people get upset shit happens and shit gets broken. And then the media puts the faces of these small business owners on TV who are rightfully upset about their business getting looted/damaged which only furthers that tired and honestly milquetoast statement of "nonviolent protest". Throughout history "nonviolent protest" has done jack shit. And don't bring up MLK or Ghandhi. People died, especially on the side of those fighting for their rights, so it defintely was not "nonviolent". And those who own small businesses like those on the TV will side with this statement and in the future decry the protests because it may affect their own livelihood, even if they would ultimately be on the side of those who are doing the protesting/riots in the first place. "Gotta get mines" right? Capitalism at work. If everyone set aside their own personal gain, banded together and said "yeah, fuck those buildings" you would see how quickly things would change for everyone. The protesters and those with small buildings alike.
"What about the owner of cvs?"is wild lol. These corporations have the buildings insured. Don't harm the small mom and pop joint but these big retail locals can get the business
Well often they are not completely ethical. They are a pretty natural result of a society that wants to change but is being held back by those in power though.
The line "Lemonade was a popular drink in my day" was a play off of Gang Starr's DWYCK: "...Lemonade was a popular drink, and it still is, I get more props and stunts than Bruce Willis..."
Uncle Ruckus represented that loud and up-in-your-face racism, but it was in the form of a self-hating black man. Wuncler is the embodiment of systemic racism, which is more subtle and yet still insidious. Even when he made very obvious derogatory statements, Wuncler did more damage with his calculated moves. McGruder really was just a genius.

I feel like San 1 for me is half great, half okay eps - whereas with sun 2 and 3 I feel like most of the episodes are great. The commentary is definitely at its highest in season one, but the characters of Huey, Riley, and Grandad get so much more to them through 2 and 3. Szn 4 is basically ' classic boondocks'.
I would say S1 had great episodes all around, along with S2. S3 was where we got some of the worst episodes along with some of the best. And calling S4 "classic Boondocks" feels like a hate crime, that shit doesn't count as Boondocks.
Not really. The Freemans start getting sidelined in favor of other characters starting in season 2. Most of their emotional range (especially Huey's) starts disappearing there, also, as they become more and more flanderized. Season 4's as far away from "classic Boondocks" as one could get. It's a bastardization of the tone and style from season 3.

Pat is perpetually stuck at age 12....
Exactly I just binge watched some of their videos. I don’t even know how they talk to this guy for more than three seconds… there’s one thing to be clearly obtuse just for the hell of it, but he’s actually just annoying and it’s not even funny..
RIP Ed Asner. He had me laughin this whole episode
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
@ANIMATIONWEB3 It does, wtf are you talking about? lmao
The debate is juicy because y’all didn’t even get to to point of Hueys first soapbox was Climate change
Interesting post discussion I think there were important points made on both sides. 36:33
13:49 and that my friends is the birth of what becomes the “lemon monologue” in Fall of The House of Usher
Great discussion at the end. A fun episode but everyone got the gist of what was being said.
Damn. I watched this show as a child when it first aired. I was young and naive and just laughed at the cursing and adult content as if this show was no different from Family Guy or South Park. When I grew up and watched this show again I was able to understand all the expertly crafted social commentary. Everyone says shows like this predicted current social issues but the sad truth is those issues were happening all along, we're just noticing it now. I can't wait for you to watch The Passion of Uncle Ruckus.
Damn I forgot how manically funny Wuncler was hahahahaha
How did Tom not think to look over those contracts?? 🤦🏾♂️
Thats what I'm wondering. Plus, if I see my little girl being exploited by someone like Wuncler or however you spell his name, I'd start swinging real freaking quick. I can't believe Tom sometimes.
Keep in mind Ed Wuncler's name is based on the Once-ler from Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.
I’ve been watching y’all for forever and the Boondocks is the only show that made me get y’all’s patreon. Also I loved y’all’s discussion at end!!!
great discussion
such a great use of Huey and Jazmine that i feel was lost in later seasons especially Jazmine
Yeah, I wish there was more Huey and Jazmine centered episodes. I love their dynamic.
Chris and Marketa are 100% right
Uncle Ruckus works because hardly anyone ever agrees with him (at least in seasons 1-3)
...I agree with Chris, Marketa and Rana.
The your "daughter chose me" line is from the Mack o chris my boy i thought you would have got that one.
Of course Pat likes Uncle Ruckus. Pat always likes the villains.
Great discussion guys
The thing that pisses me off the most is that Tom, Jasmine's lawyer father didn't even read the contract.
Property isn't people. Agreed.
I hope Pat realizes how manipulated by the system he is someday
Same to you
@@YuSooKey thanks, I did
He reminds me of Hassan.. just completely lost in the illusion and so unaware that it’s almost blasphemous..
Just gained a crazy amount of respect for Chris after that ending discussion
This is my favourite episode of the first season
The whole point of the episode flew right over Pat's head
He's retarded, what did you expect?
"Rioting is the voice of the unheard" MLK jr
I don't really blame Jasmine for being terse with Huey, not like Huey likes her or listens to her either.
To be completely honest lol 😂 your the first video that always pops up when I get off work ❤ timeee to watch your videos n smoke some shhweeeeed

Ruckus represented a radical raccoon (without the ra)
11:56. I like that Snoop Dog reference!
It reminds me of the foreign debt traps that the World Bank and the WTO led a bunch of countries into
Top 10 episodes of the show. Hilarious from start to finish. Surprisingly also one with the least amount of Grand dad. Main focus was on Ruckus and Jazmine but Riley has one of my favorite scenes. "It's all I've got, I'm thirsty, .
Worst episode to be the only black Person in the room.
NGL, I expected a much bigger rxn to Mr Wuncler casually quoting Snoop Dogg
I agree on the Uncle Ruckus thing fs. I reeeaaallly love San 2 and 3 bc it has more episodes like this one. I feel like San 1 for me is half great, half okay eps - whereas with sun 2 and 3 I feel like most of the episodes are great. The commentary is definitely at its highest in season one, but the characters of Huey, Riley, and Grandad get so much more to them through 2 and 3. Szn 4 is basically ' classic boondocks'.
huh? lol Season 4 is horrible. Also I think S1 has the most character moments.
I was hoping someone had seen "Do the right thing" wuncler had some hilarious lines this episode "You think ignorance is cute" t-t-t too damn old to be writing your Es backwards" "We can handle this like a couple of gentlemen or...we can get into some old gangster shit"🤣🤣🤣
8:25 lol the ladies all shocked while the guys are laughing 😂
1:38 Makeeta with "W" again..... i love yall❤❤❤❤
Chris and marketa has a point, the others to some extent did to,
Senselessly destroying random stuff especially in a poor area is No bueno, but *calculated* violence has throughout history worked especially in movements that were about the oppressed. Violence isn’t the first resort but it change doesn’t happen it will be the last, and that’s how it always go, especially if it involves a group that has been oppressed
When your friend was like “he just wanted to show his ID” where has she been?😂 there’s like 1000+ cases of bm reaching into his pocket for ID and ended up dead
It only seems ‘ethical’ when it’s a certain group doing it over sports games.. apparently
Show me the influencers or media companies with substantial influence who advocate for and say that the rioting after a sports championship is good. I'll wait....
Boom
@@hoteditshaventhey laugh at it and right it off as “drunken mess”. Cope.
Literally nobody defends property being destroyed by fans after a game. Nice try.
@@za-ir5niyeah they also don't vilify those people and use it for b roll for 24 hours straight
When it comes to Trusts and succession law, if you don't know the law, you can't say it's screwing you over because you learning and getting information before creating a Trust. Always and research before seeing a specialist so you can always ask questions. If you don't ask questions, you can't say you were screwed by the law. The laws are there for everyone to use if you learn them. But no one wants to learn
I find Uncle Rukus hilarious because I went to a 50%white 50%black school in TN, and had an elderly black male science teacher in middle-school that would call all the students "West Nile Crack-babies" every time a group of kids was acting up.
SHOUT OUT TO THE LATE GREAT ED ASNER... HE USED HIS VOICE TO HELP REGULAR WORKING CLASS PEOPLE CONSISTANTLY
Just wait 'till you get to Season 3 Episode 3.
Mr Wuncler goes from "Haha funny evil capitalist-man" to *"Jesus H. Christ, they were able to joke about that on TV?!?"*
An amazing payoff!
@@AngelTorres-vu2iz The Red Ball, pay attention to Wunclers Great-Great-Grandfather's name.
It's a good ways off but his evil is gonna seem tame compared to his son's.
Rana knows what she's doing

Can’t wait till yall see the color ruckus
We gotta get boondocks skits from y’all 😂
