hey, it seems that ur recipe is good and I would 100% like to try it but your instructions are very vague, u didn’t specify which stock, nor did u specify the measurements of the ingredients.
Hi there, I've updated the description with the list of ingredients and quantities so you have all of the information to hand. I've also added a link to our site where you can get a free printable version of the recipe too. hope that helps www.kitchensanctuary.com/sticky-chinese-pork-belly/
@@10qoal Most (not all) videos like these without quantity description, are just an additional element in their main website where you can see a comprehensive list of everything that's why they don't need to include measurements in the video.
Thank you for the simple and succinct instructions. I tire of skipping through every other "personality" intro to get to the cooking part of videos when I need real info. You a breath of fresh air.
I've just found this channel tonight, it's good I don't want to know their life history I would like to see this good quick 👍 Tin eats is another good channel
I cooked this today and was really nice. However, I wouldn´t put any salt on it, the saltiness of the soy sauce is more than enough to bring taste to the pork
Tried a version of this after seeing the video..Did the stock, chicken, with garlic..simmered..Then dried the pork belly pieces and into a sauce pan to fry in oil. Then doused with" bone sucking" marinade sauce..added a bit of the fat back into the sauce continued cooking. Then put it on rice...served with cauliflower that steamed in the original broth...thanks for the inspiration.
This is extremely delicious!!! I have made it several times and also done boneless pork country style ribs this way. It's always super tasty. I love it with sticky rice.
Made this tonight, used the leftover liquid from the braising to cook my rice and veg, had a good amount of pork fat in it which added to the flavour and gave the rice a lovely sheen.
Excellent dish, the ONLY PROBLEM is I’m diabetic & I had to substitute the sugar with a touch of 🍯 Honey, worked just as well & VERY VERY TASTY. I’ve always hated Pork Belly UNTIL NOW! Thank you & I’m going to make some for my brother & my sister-in-law next week & see what they think. Again, thank for an excellent recipe 👏👏👏.
@@hanoic it was very tender! Insta pots make everything melty and fall off the bone. You have to becareful though or it all dissolves it gets so soft!!
Delicious. I just mixed up some thai sweet chilli sauce and soy sauce since I felt lazy instead of the one in the recipe but the pork belly was amazing.

I am currently making this and it seems my cuts of pork belly were extremely fatty...I am at the stir frying part and am wondering should I keep stir frying this fat...like, will it get crisp?
@@Kitchensanctuary Thats ok---I am very new to cooking and this was a challenge for me. I got a little restless reducing the glaze, and ended up burning it a little...definitely got sticky, and the flavor was good, but my pork pieces were a bit too crunchy since I turned the heat up and wasn't constantly stirring. Will try it again soon! Thanks!
I eyeballed quantities and tasted. This glaze is killer. I missed seasoning the pork when it went into the frying pan and definitely noticed The glaze is pretty killer
AY YO. made this tonight but pan seared cubed belly then roasted in a covered pan 350 for two hours. Then in the pan with glaze sauce it. Is. ridiculous.

I just tried this recipe. I served with carrots glazed in maple syrup and served it with jasmine rice.
My Asian wife flipped out and we both loved it.
How much maple syrup did you add to the carrots?
@@DanJayadev I didn’t measure. I just drizzled the Maple Syrup over the top of the carrots. I guess I added about 1-2 tbs to 250g of carrots.

Can I ask please, can I swap beef stock for chicken?
All I have on hand 👍
I made this and it’s one of the absolute best things I’ve ever made! Thanks so much for the recipe!
Tried this on Sunday and it was delicious! It is now Tuesday and it has been requested again. Thank you for posting.
This came out great for me!! Thank you

I made this and ate it with my family in Korean lettuce wraps!!! It was insanely good! Thanks xx
Yay, so glad you enjoyed it. Its suer addictive, Chris and I had it with fried rice the other day hmmmmm
This was delicious! I ate them with Korean Lettuce wraps and they were the best! Thank you for uploading this video! My family loved them!
Made this today! So good. Did a little short cut and cooked my pork belly in my instapot for 10-15 minutes instead of boiling for 2 hours! So good!!!
Sacrificed tenderness for time
@@hanoic it was very tender! Insta pots make everything melty and fall off the bone. You have to becareful though or it all dissolves it gets so soft!!
@@shadowlover221 hmm I may have to give that a try then, I'm sold!
Made this yesterday ..its was gorgeous. Definitely will make again and the soup left was so full of flavours..thank you
My pleasure 😊
All these videos are so easy to follow, and really tasty food. Thank you so much.
this recipe is so good. BUT might i suggest using the broth for pho noodles after you remove the pork belly. so delicious
You could even use the broth in the sweet soy sauce mix instead of oil since the broth already has that tasty pork drippings.
How long do you boil the pork in the stock?
will cook this later... hoping my family would love it~
My husband like this recipe! Thank you for sharing this simple, easy and yummy recipe❤️
My pleasure 😊
Обалденный рецепт! Вкуснотища,спасибо!👍
This looks marvelous. I'm going to try your recipe and use the meat in lettuce wraps Korean style. Sounds yummy just thinking about it. TFS!
IT TASTE SO GOOD 🎉
My husband like it very much, today going to cook for the second time.
Made this tonight. I had thinner sliced pork belly so only boiled an hour. This was delicious! Served over rice and sliced cabbage.
Sounds great!
How long should I simmer the pork for in the stock ?
@@chrisjackson4556 depends on thickness. Ours were about half the thickness of hers and 1 hour of simmer was enough.
I looooove❤ this recipe every time I make it I adjust it a little more and it gets better
How many adults would you expect to serve with 1kg of belly (as a main)? Thanks.
Tried this and tasted so good
Granted I had to use a few alternatives to some ingredients I didn’t have but it tasted awesome and my family loved it
Glad you liked it
I made this for my boyfriend and he loved it! Thank you :)
He’s now my husband ❤
A kind of take on ‘hui guo rou’. Nice!
Agree. The title should credit where credits is due.
How long do you boil it, after you put the lid on?
..and the stock is great for soup. Add sliced carrots some peas/ cabbage and noodles, delish
It was so good omg!!!!! My family does not eat spicy food, so I added paprika instead of chili. It was amazing😭
Good idea, cus I was thinking of substituting the chili pepper for either chili powder or paprika (my son loves pork but doesn’t like spicy too much)
Paprika brings zero flavor though. Only color….
Tried this and it was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!
I don’t have any lemongrass, what can I substitute instead?
Thanks for the recipe. Mine's cooking right now. MMMMMM smells good.
Thank you for this great recipe I made it and turned out exactly as shown and tasted. Wonderful
Tried it. I found out that it's also delicious cold the next day..I couldn't stop eating it.
Great 👍
I just made it...it was out of this 🌎 any quick to cook
Can I make it using just diced pork rather than belly
Thank you! Straight & to the point!
Excellent layering of flavor
Can you freeze this?
Bro this recipe has become a staple in my household THANKS :D
I tried your recipe. I forgot salt and pepper in the frying stage but it turned out great just the same. It was melt in your mouth good. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this one! Definitely another good option for a pork belly recipe ❤ so easy and delicious, my family loves it. Cheers🎉
How long do I need to simmer for? Just started making this recipe
Hi There, simmer for 2 hours. Full instructions are available here: www.kitchensanctuary.com/sticky-chinese-pork-belly
My family and i tried, very delicious ❤
This recipe was delicious. Will be making this again.
what do you do with the stock after cooking? make soup with it?
I tried to put some small amount of sesame oil and it gives the best aroma ang taste.
Sounds great!
I love pork Chilli recipe
Thanks for this. Had for dinner tonight and was yummy!
I've stir braised belly and to be sure it's cooked and ready for stir fry part takes about an hour.
Delicious. I just mixed up some thai sweet chilli sauce and soy sauce since I felt lazy instead of the one in the recipe but the pork belly was amazing.
Sounds great!
Thank you for sharing your recipe!
So delicious, my partner is always requesting it. Ty !
Thank you for this easy delicious porkbelly

This is brilliant. Cooked a few times now and the whole family loves it ❤️❤️❤️ thank U for Sharing it
Fantastic and very nicely done!!
Thank you so much 😀
I made this recipe & it was so delicious thank you 😊
What kind of stock was used? Quantities?
Pork Belly is so cheap to buy as well!! Think I'll be trying this one
@union310 wtf... With rice not grasses.
You know what you are missing? The moment you put in lemongrass and don't put this other ingredient, it won't taste as good - fish sauce!
This is so good ❤
What time of stock?
Thank you so much for using "addictive" rather than "addicting" in your title. There is hope.
yeah... sugar is addictive
Absolutely brilliant as usual! I can’t wait to cook it.
my favorite dish ever since
What stock that been added???
what is that stock made of.?
Chicken stock but you could use veg or pork stock. The full recipe is linked in the description.

What rice wine ?
I eyeballed quantities and tasted. This glaze is killer. I missed seasoning the pork when it went into the frying pan and definitely noticed

Uncle Roger would say, "hai-yah..."
Could you use apple vingar or balsamic vingar or abit of sherry please instead of the rice wine
This looks yum!
Ho much time to boil?
do you know honey is toxic when over heated?
That looks good
it is like an easy way to make buta kakuni right?

What's an alternative meat to pork belly?
Could prolly do it with whatever really...steak chicken etc

How long for that simmer approximately?
Until the sun reaches its zenith
2hrs, in the description she has the recipe link with the instructions in more detail.
