- Seiko Ruputer, a smart watch in the late 1990s. I remembered it whenever I looked at my Apple Watch. So I made a video to share. Hope you like this review.
Had no idea the technology was available in 98. Cool.
SEIKO WATCH OF JAPAN IS SO WAY AHEAD OF TIME !!!!!
Fossil Abacus of that time was way ahead...Seiko was just a copy cat. It did not sell well in the US at all.
@@firstname728 Copy cat? At that time Seiko was a company who released first quartz watch, first six digit LCD watch, multifunctional lcd watch, quartz alarm clock, quartz watch with a TV... recorder and so on. And Seiko Ruputer was released in 1998, 5 years before Fossil Abacus.

I have unused matsucom onhand for sale. Original box with all the stuff in it.
So what was price of this watch when it was launched and also the value compare to present time?
How to change this watch with english language?? Could it be?
For this version (Seiko Version), it is Japanese only. But as far as I know there was an English version issued by Matsucom, in either Black or Clear colour which was sold internationally at that time. Thank you for leaving me message.

I had two of these a few years back and cost me less than £20 for both. Interesting watch and easy to upload programs but the joystick's failed on both. I sold them on. Not seen any others for sale.
Is there any chance you can collect your watch faces that are no longer available and upload them to the Internet Archive for posterity?
I want to do this but I need a computer running Win 95
How did you get this in a full package? Also interested in old devices. Really hard to find a new one with box and accessory parts.

NB Tech Much much much before Apple! Japanese were way ahead of everybody in those times...a simple Casio watch with calculator and those twincept watches were my favourite!

Seiko is one of best watch brand but they don't know how to market the brand. same as all Japanese brands; bad marketing.
