This is a top video because you actually asked the hard questions like "why did you join" to the actual candidate and show transparently their thought process. Super valuable man!
no one talks about how good jays style is

So cool to get to see all the decisions and steps that go into building a startup like stan
Me being a Recruiter, a lot of these tips are really helpful. Great video.
Thank you for sharing all this. Amazing
great advice, also love the new hair!
great episode!
great video. scaling my startup right now and needed this. have 1 full time atm but need 1-2 more soon
You got this Dave! What other challenges / questions are you thinking through? I can make a vid on it!
Hi Jay, love you man, amazing insight and energy as always!
Would you say that the same process was used in getting a cofounder?
I say this because you really can't offer a cofounder salary, and so it's probably a much harder sell. And yet, it's the most important hire you'll ever make. When you searched for a cofounder, did you use the same cold calling style or was it people you know for a while? And if it was through cold calling, how did you build that relationship which eventually convinced someone to join up with nothing but equity on the table.
Hey! Love your content and have been following since you MBA early days! Finally subscribed today after coming on TH-cam after a long break - QQ how do you decide the compensation & motivation strategy for first hires? Really love to hear your advice!
You are the greatesttt!!!
Difficult to make eye contact over the phone ;) I would add Mindset, interaction would he/she fits within the team, pro-activity, result-oriented eventually motivation can also come from a great vision plan. 5 times seems way too much in my opinion... Mindest and attitude and experience will definitely demonstrate a positive outcome...
Haha, I got rejected for this position at Stan.😆But i'm very excited for your new hire! One piece of feedback I have for you Jay is that I spent a fairly long amount of time recording my video/application only to hear back that the position was already filled the week before. The job was still listed on the careers page with a big "We're hiring!" sign. Would have saved me an hour :) Best of luck to you!!
AHHH SHOOT - I'm so sorry to hear that!!! Thank you so much nonetheless for applying, and I hope you'll keep in touch!
Will do! Love what you guys are doing. @@jayhoovy
What's your perspective on tiktok shops now offering physical and digital items? How does that affect Stan?
I’m curious how many hours a week you are working on your startup. What does a weeks work at Stan look like?
Is it possible for you to create a content specifically about advertising in terms of marketing strategy or something kinda of geeky thing
LAURENN!!! ALYSSA!!!
Love these behind-the-scenes videos, Jay. However, Ben Simon is not a solid candidate 😂
