Great, you also chose S.F.Sorrow, from The Pretty Things, my all time favourite album. Such talented musicians. Released early December 1968 and an inspiration for Pete Townshend to write Tommy. Unfortunately S.F.Sorrow was released in the USA after Tommy, but besides that, also bad management is the reason, The Pretty Things never made it in the States. Great band who influenced many big names in the music scene. Their 1970 album Parachute is also a masterpiece!!!
S.F.Sorrow has always been one of my favorites since I first heard it in the early '70s, it actually got me into the Pretties, as I started picking up their back catalogue. Yeah, Parachute is pretty awesome too! Thanks for tuning in Robert, and take care.
Hi Eric, Odessa is a great album, probably the Bee Gees most ambitious record. Cool you got S.F. Sorrow, it's a classic psych album, one of the Pretty Things best. Thanks for tuning in, and hope you're doing well.
Wonderful stuff Michael! Love, the Pretty things, Alice Cooper the band! You have made me feel old I was 10 when this lot came out bought them in the 70's so much great stuff 👍
I was 13 in 1969, so I made myself feel old! The Pretty Things SF Sorrow is one of the best psychedelic albums of the 60s. Pretties For You is a weird but wonderful trippy album. Thanks for tuning in Ian, hope you're doing well my friend.
@@nearwildheaven4840I'm ok! I forgot to mention Arthur Lee was popular here in the West Midlands UK I have loads of his stuff! The Pretty things SF Sorrow is a forgotten classic beating the Who with a Rock opera! Michael you must do 1970! Keep doing what you do I enjoy your videos!
strangely enough i just picked up two albums today that you shared here: Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde (probably my tenth copy) and Blues Obituary! can’t wait to listen to them both tonight. wheel’s on fire is one of my favorite album openers. thanks for another great vid and have a rocking weekend.
Weird how those coincidences happen all the time in the VC, many times I've seen someone show an obscure album, and then I find the same album a few days later. Yeah, the Byrds and Groundhogs albums are top notch, Wheels on Fire was also covered by Brian Auger and the Trinity. Thanks for your comment and hope you have a great weekend too!
Hi Ralph, sounds like you're going to have a great listening session this weekend! Both of those albums are so good and very under rated. Thanks for tuning in and for your comment.
So last night I had taken a handful of gummie snacks and once I was totally tuned up I seen this video! Then when ai heard The Haunted 1-2-5 my mind was totally blown! I had almost forgotten how killer that song and that band were! I’m kinda glad you let play for a bit before coming out cuz it was doing it for me! So many great LPs here! Sir Douglas Quintet! Love! Man I need to get that album! You’re so right about that Coop album The early stuff should not be ignored as it is wild! Cannes Heat! BeeGees! That Damnation of AB is one of my favorite albums to listen to! Morning Dew is so so good! As you would say “Great Stuff!” LoL Peace Brother! ✨✌️👽✨
I love those Haunted LPs, fantastic garage rock! I'm also looking for an album by the Misunderstood, another great garage band. I tried not to show the typical albums from 1969, like Abbey Road, Let It Bleed, and Tommy, and focus on lesser known LPs. Next time you do gummies, watch my video Albums I Like to Listen to When I'm High, if you haven't already. Thanks for tuning in Brian, glad you enjoyed the video.
Hey Michael Man that’s a bunch of great albums 🔥I streamed that Jeff Simmons album a while ago and really liked it ! The Damnation of Adam Blessing was one of the first cool psychedelic ogs I found once I got back into collecting awesome stuff Their second album is pretty good too Take care Brian 🤘🏻☮️
I have both Damnation of Adam Blessing's albums, and you're right, they are awesome! Jeff Simmons also did a soundtrack to a movie called Naked Angels, which I hope to find for a decent price someday. Thanks for tuning in Brian and take care.
I seem to be missing a lot of music from 69 Michael! Most I don’t have but I do have the Sly album which is outstanding. Interesting info in the Alice album
I really need to check out early Alice Cooper, sounds pretty different from his 70s hits heyday. Also can’t believe I’ve never heard Dr. Byrd and Mr. Hyde - and I love the Byrds! The US cover for SF Sorrow is completely different. Fantastic psych album. I have Bee Gees Odessa but not with that ‘suede’ red cover. Hope you are keeping well. Take care, John.
Early Alice Cooper is kind of in the same vein as Frank Zappa, weird and psychedelic at the same time. Dr Byrds album is definitely worth listening to. I think the UK cover for Sorrow is much cooler looking. The suede cover of the Bee Gees Odessa LP is starting to flake off, when I remove the outer sleeve, I get a red dust inside the sleeve. Thanks for tuning in John, take care.
Very nice Micheal, been looking for "Pretties For You" forever and Odessa. I heard that Zappa hired Simmons because he made him laugh. Leigh Stevens also left Blue Cheer because of the drugs, and he was losing his hearing.
I've had my copy of Pretties since the early 70s, it was the second album I bought by them after Love it to Death. Zappa hired a lot of people who made him laugh, I think it was a required talent to have if one was going to play with Zappa. Blue Cheer might have been junkies, but man did they put out some killer albums! Thanks for tuning in Dave.
Glad to see that Steve Miller Band record, and Golden Earring. They do a great version of 8 Miles High on their live album. Seems like Randy Holden should have asked a few more questions before accepting employment with Blue Cheer. Thanks for showing the records!
I have that live album by Golden Earing, and yeah, that is a killer version of 8 miles. Blue Cheer went through a lot of guitarists, but they were never as good as those first 3 albums. Thanks for tuning in Randy.
Hi Michael, Pretties for You is amazing, one of Alice Cooper's most under rated albums. The band were big fans of the early Floyd, and the influence shows on that album. Thanks for tuning in and for your comment, it's always appreciated.
I’ve never listened to the Love albums after Forever Changes. I need to get the first three Steve Miller albums. That Jeff Simmons album is good. Every copy I’ve ever seen has been a cut corner. The studio side of Living The Blues is great.
Love's albums post Forever Changes are worth a listen, not up to par with the earlier albums but still good. I think the Jeff Simmons LP was released as a cut out! Al Wilson's guitar work on the Heat's LTB LP is fantastic. Thanks for commenting Rich.

I spun Odessa recently. I found a copy of S.F. Sorrow just yesterday. Good showings here. Great stuff.
Hi Eric, Odessa is a great album, probably the Bee Gees most ambitious record. Cool you got S.F. Sorrow, it's a classic psych album, one of the Pretty Things best. Thanks for tuning in, and hope you're doing well.
Thanks Michael , good rundown of some great albums 😎👌
Thanks, glad you liked it!🤓👍

Great picks Michael. Thanks for showing them.
And thanks for watching me show them!
Good morning! I just subbed to your channel. It was suggested by Louis Martinez.
Great content and channel😊
Hi Robert, thanks so much for subscribing to my channel, and thanks to Louis for recommending my channel to you. 🙂👍
@nearwildheaven4840 that's what the VC is all about. Glad to sub you

Hi Michael, Good set of records. I'll be playing Pretties For You and Easy Action this weekend, thanks!

I have my favourites , but i am glad to see your's
Great stuff
Thanks Martin, glad you liked the video, take care.
I seem to be missing a lot of music from 69 Michael! Most I don’t have but I do have the Sly album which is outstanding. Interesting info in the Alice album
I love the run of albums Sly did in the 60s, all the way to There's a Riot Going On, which I think was their peak. Thanks for tuning in Steve.
I really need to check out early Alice Cooper, sounds pretty different from his 70s hits heyday.

That Alice Cooper album is so good. I like your comparison to early Pink Floyd. Cheers!

Yay, Canned Heat!
Canned Heat rules!
