I'm a Mormon and a return missionary(I did a two-year mission in Texas) and I was pleased with how accurate this is. One comment I will make is that a mission isn't really a rite of passage. Missionaries who go out door-to-door while living strict standards become discouraged more easily than missionaries who are out there because of their faith. However besides that small misunderstanding I can't emphasize how pleased I was with the accuracy. Most TV shows are biased against or for Mormons.

I enjoy the moment of discovery when Mormons realize that something they've been taught in church does not agree with something in church-published books.
I want others to know the happness that I've discovered, and have made it a bit of a project to share the truth with as many Mormons as I can.
Plus, I enjoy debating the issues and learning the deeper doctrines and exploring the vast and unknown world of Mormonism that isn't in the lesson manuals.

Utu Fatiaki If I looked under a microscope at my flesh, blood, and bones I would notice that there are animal cells, and those animal cells are made up of organelles. The grass and trees are made of plant cells, growing as a result of photosynthesis. The sky is full of atoms, refracting light from the sun and reflecting blue light. These are the result of evolution and other processes discovered. Science has explained these phenomena perfectly, so I don’t know what point you’re trying to make. The history of humans, Earth, and the universe has no space for a “creator” unless the creator is the Big Bang.

I pray for those in Louisiana & anyone who encounters anyone from the Mormon religion. I pray they are not misled.
Do the missionaries tell them what your prophet claimed in his false doctrines? Do the missionaries even know?
Your living (and past) prophets have made corrections to the Book of Mormon, the "most correct book", the most correct translation that has had thousands of changes. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon into English through the gift and power of God. He said that it is "the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book" (History of the Church, 4:461). Yet, the book which Joseph Smith declared was "the most correct of any book on earth" (History of the Church, vol. 4, p. 461) has been revised in over 3900 places (3913 Changes in the Book of Mormon by Jerald and Sandra Tanner)
. This does not sound like the most correct.
For those who don't know about your living prophets.
“We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands, by those who are in authority to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.” (Articles of Faith 1:5.)
A prophet, then, is the authorized representative of the Lord. While the world may not recognize him, the important requirement is that God speaks through him. A prophet is a teacher. He receives revelations from the Lord. These may be new truths or explanations of truths already received.
So here's another correction from the Book of Mormon, the most correct translation:
Before 1978 dark-skinned males were not allowed to hold positions of priesthood authority within the Mormon church. Today Mormon "most correct" scriptures continue to teach that dark skin is a curse from God and a sign of His displeasure (1 Nephi 12:23; 2 Nephi 5:21; Alma 3:6).
Brigham Young, second president and prophet of the LDS church referred to those with dark skin as being "cursed with a s[k]in of blackness" (Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, p. 272).
"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 10, p. 110).

Your prophet Joseph Smith is a false prophet. Your living and past prophets are false prophets.
20 "But the prophet who shall speak a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 "And you may say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 "When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)
False prophecies from your false prophet Joseph Smith:
      - Jesus’ return within 56 years (History of the Church, vol. 2, p. 189)
      - The temple would be built in Missouri within Smith’s Generation (Doctrines and Covenants 84:2-5,31)
      - All Nations would be involved in the American Civil War (Doctrine and Covenants 87:1-3)
      - Isaiah 11 was about to be fulfilled (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith, History, verse 40)
The ONLY living prophet is the Biblical Jesus Christ (Hebrew 13:5)
, the ONLY god. For those who do not know, Mormons believe in the plurality of gods. "In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it," (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 5). You believe the 10 commandments are true, right? The first commandment says, "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3). More contradiction.
Another false claim from the apostle Bruce McConkie, “Thus those who gain eternal life receive exaltation. . . They are gods.” (Mormon Doctrine, pg. 237). Another false claim from Joseph Smith, “Here then is eternal life - to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God the same as all Gods have done before you” (Journal of Discourses 6:4; TPJS p.346 ).
Why do LDS waste their time with Jesus when they have their own prophets?
LDS believe they can one day become a god like their brother Jesus. The Mormon Jesus is your brother and you can one day be exalted like him. That's blasphemy. My Jesus of the only true Bible is our ONLY one true God (Isaiah 44:6).
Do you believe in Joseph Smith or Jesus Christ?
Your prophet Joseph Smith on May 26, 1844 boasted, "I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet." (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 408-409 Address of the Prophet - His Testimony Against the Dissenters at Nauvoo)

Mormonism is full of anachronisms, contradiction and false prophecies, far from correct. Information is easily accessible on the internet. Find the truth, read the Bible. Test the Bible, test your church.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)
      With love & sincerity

NONE of the first presidency (Thomas S. Monson, Henry B Eyering, or Dieter Uchtdorf, all military veterans) EVER served a mission, Neither did eight of the twelve quarum of the twelve apostles, choosing military service over missionary service.
I have the same rights and priviledges as a return missionary, (temple marriage, recommend, etc)

Generally you want as few people as possible to believe in something that is rationally implausible. What you want is for people to be able to judge what actually is plausible, and why acting in accordance to what you believe go be most plausibly true is the best way to act. Young people staying at home smoking weed don't do that either ofc. You could argue that the mormon church is wasting these guy's potential on something that is destructive in the long term, when without they church they might be just as industrious, but would work on something that actually has impact on people's lives beyond belief in a dogma.

Thank you for your hard work and service planting the seeds throughout the the world. No one would know anything about Jesus Christ and his great sacrifice. With your faith, keep planting the seeds that way we won't have so many ignorant people in the world. God bless you and your families. If we had more young men like you helping and teaching the people about Jesus Christ. I believe it would be less anger, depression, murders, theft, dishonest people and many other things like gang shootings. Keep teaching the great gift of repentance. Not only that if the Church of Jesus Christ was racist why would so many countries be part of the church. I believe there is over 50000 young man and women serving a a full time emission. The missionaries Finance their own missions. Sure the parents sometimes have to help our missionaries with money. I myself will donate money to their mission to serve the Lord. Not to boast of these things . Not only that they are doing nothing different than the 12 apostles when Jesus was alive in the Bible. Like the Lord said love one another as I have loved you. This is the higher law we must all live if possible. Some people have a real hard time living that law. I would not speak out against these people if I did not care about you . That means we all have to love one another like we love ourselves and our neighbors. You can see there are some I want mansion on this website they refuse to live the law ,It doesn't matter what skin color you are still a son or daughter of God. The Lord is about love only , if we cannot love we are not one of His sheep. The Lord is the Good Shepherd that will lead his sheep pet safety if they will follow Him . But we do have a lot of followers that hate the church for whatever reason. It is their choice. They are pretty vicious with their tongue when they lying and constantly criticize. I rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ ! The main thing they are trying to do is chase people away from the Lord and His gospel. So they spread rumors and lies constantly. I really believe they are evil atheist just like some of these disgraceful comments. They will go as far as calling themselves a Christian and a Christian does not do that. You will always know people by their words whether they be good or evil. It is their choice to be evil speakers. They will even bring up scriptures and accuse the church and monk the things of Jesus Christ. The Lord said those who mock are fools and they will be destroyed . These are the type of people that crucified our Lord Jesus Christ . We all know these people that bring up the scriptures to disrupt the church, if you read their scriptures it can make a little bit of sense until the whole chapter is read ,it does not say what they claim. The Bible contradicts what they say even though they bring up a few other scriptures that mean something else. These people are more like atheist and cannot stand Jesus Christ. The church is over 16 million strong and is one of the fastest growing churches in the world. They are still trying to crucify this wonderful Church which Bears the name of Jesus Christ. As far as I know it is the only Church of Jesus Christ in the world. It is clear in the Bible also that this is what all the Lord's churches should be named. It even talks about this church in Isaiah chapter 29 and 30 and so many other places in the Bible. I would never go to one of those hateful churches that some of those hateful people speak on our website. No Christian speaks evil against the Church of Jesus Christ. If you are not edified by the words that is spoken, and the behalf of Jesus Christ, then those words are in vain if you do not think about them later and pondered them in your heart. We all have to do our own research in life and I would hope that you would do your research and know the truth when you find it. It is real hard to find truth when you have other people giving their opinions. The truth is not someone's opinion. If you want to know the truth you will pray for understanding and ask God with real intent with faith in the name of Jesus Christ and it will be revealed I can promise that. The Lord has promised in the Bible in many different places, has said , ask and you will receive knock and the door will be open to you. This is the only way you can find truth when the Holy Ghost reveals it to you and then you will never be able to deny the truth once you hear it. If you never ask you will never receive truth I am not trying to convert you just wanted you to know that these evil tongues do not serve the Lord Jesus Christ. I speak the truth about to Lord's Church. All I can do is pray for the evil speakers that one day their hearts will be softened. And come to Christ with Open Hearts and Minds. In the name of Jesus Christ I speak to these words! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to clarify the word of Jesus Christ and the difference between the things of evil speakers! Many of these evil speakers give me the opportunity to even Bear My Testimony and I thank them for that. I know the Lord Jesus Christ was beaten and bruised and nailed on the cross and after 3 days our Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected. The Lord Jesus Christ suffered dearly for every single person that will believe in Him and follow Him. The Book of Mormon is the true word of God just like the Bible! The Doctrine and Covenants clarify many Revelations given to the people that follow Him. I can promise you if you seek you will find the truth and nothing but the truth in the name of Jesus Christ ,amen!

It always seems like other churches stumble and trip over their words and Doctrine. With much of the false Doctrine going on, there would be more churches I would think, maybe later. No wonder many people stay away from churches, I did for a long time because of that reason. Like the trinity there is no such thing even in the Bible. I knew that already. that is false Doctrine. After the serpent said this, he said that she would not surely die. This is what I believe was the lie. After Adam and Eve had eaten of the fruit, God said they had "become as one of us" suggesting that a process of approaching godliness was underway.

    • @jordannewberry9561
      @jordannewberry9561 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

lajmh There are many other scriptures that indicate this. Jesus said "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?" In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus commanded His disciples to become “perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” In turn, the Apostle Peter referred to the Savior’s “exceeding great and precious promises” that we might become “partakers of the divine nature.” The Apostle Paul taught that we are “the offspring of God” and emphasized that as such “we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.” An heir is one who inherits the position and title of another. The book of Revelation contains a promise from Jesus Christ that “to him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” These passages can be interpreted in different ways. Yet by viewing them through the clarifying lens of revelations received by Joseph Smith, Latter-day Saints see these scriptures as straightforward expressions of humanity’s divine nature and potential.

Ironically, Read the very last page of the Bible. (Revelations 22)....what does it say about "that Book"?
Book of Mormon, began 600 years before the birth of Christ and continued 410 after he visited the "other lost sheep" John 10.......Continued because the Book of Mormon had NO seal upon it to be NOT written more upon or added, was not constrained by man to say God has said everything in the bible and it is sealed till God opens it again....except the bible........strange isnt it?..........which christianity as a whole has blindly closed its eyes and followed the edicts of pagan rome
Bible completed and accepted as canon in year 325 AD from Constantine or council of Nicaea......many years after Rev 22...considering the Revelation was given around 100 AD?...nothing to say or add?

But I can spot them a mile now and if I can't cross the road to avoid them I just power walk past them, refusing to make eye contact, while loudly shouting "I'm an atheist", over and over to drown out their attempts at greeting me.

Being a missionary is a great responsibility! A missionary must have great energy, fortitude, and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, no matter what part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. Locals must understand what the missionary is telling them. The missionary must get the Word right! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is on a mission or preparing for one, I would like to recommend a very good workshop written by Yury Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes: Practical tips for learning foreign language. This wonderful book will give you answers how to properly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book provides answers to many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. I wish you good luck in your important work!

Hate to break it to you but the church does support polygamy still. The reason why the church doesn't practice currently is because it has been outlawed back in the late 1800's so the church decided to stop the practice. If you searched about eternal life in the celestial kingdom; it talks about the priesthood man will have plural wives with the creation of making other worlds and also I believe plural marriage will happen in the next millennium too.
