Reason #2 why the letter from part 1 is a trap. The princess just so happened to astral project herself to the party instead of to the capitol to tell her father where she is. Also she never said her name when he asked "who are you, who holds you captive?" she just says "The Shadow" to me she's saying that she herself is The Shadow.
I cant tell you how many times I've watched this. Me and my brothers quote it all the time. "Aren't you forgetting something?" "Like what?" "Like your characters paralizing fear of water perhaps?" "Oh yeah, thats right..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
True, true... So there we have it. There are always explanations that can be made for everything. That's what so cool about DMing to me, as your explanation is always the right one.
@malkavianantitribu no, the guy in the background was the one player who didnt show up to play until really late. so his character is just randomly positioned around in the scenes not doing anything since no one is playing him.
@TriaMaxwell I just checked my DnD 3.5 Rule book and there is nothing that says "Light weapons only" on a sneak attack. Siege weapons, are a go. So long as there's anatomy of some sort and no concealment, the sneak attack is possible. Must try this in a game.
Wait a minute last time i played D&D 3.5, (which was a couple weeks ago), Elves didn't sleep but went into a trance for a few hours so why is the elf archer sleeping.
Was she answering "The Shadow" to the "Who are you" or the "Who holds you captive" question? In an earlier post on the last part I questioned if the note from the king was actually from the king and not The Shadow.
I personally stick with 3.5 edition rules. Its not too hard to get. Just read through the players handbook and learn a majority of it. From there, your pretty ready to jump in and play.
Mages get 1d4 HP per level, plus a CON bonus, if any. As you know, 6(level)x4(max roll on a d4)=24. So yeah, "only" 25 hit points for a 6th level mage is above average.
264 points of dmg..... Well, if you can carry it you can use it and if you look through the rule books there isn't a rule yet 5/5 for the splattering of hunk
However that is irrelevent to the argument because he was clearly only talking about the fact that he would always naturally expect an ambush when walking through a strange woods immediately following a run in with a strange ghost fire thing when the The Shadow's abode is nearby. So in those circumstances he would always naturally be on the lookout for an ambush while traveling. It is presume that people don't intend absurd consequences.
I don't play D&D, but I don't let my players do that. However, if it might add to the fun, I'll just make it kinda difficult, and generally have some penalty for following actions (like -1 to movement tests for slipping on entrails) ;D.
Well, just find people on your gaming level and gather gaming experience with them, and its not about rules but having fun. If you dont understand all the rules, just leave them out and start out with the basics. The 4th edition of D&D was released just now and the best thing to start with is the Player's Handbook, that is all you need.
We play oldschool in a livingroom sitting around a table, drinking, eating, talking, throwing the dice and calculate in our heads... It may be not up to time, but it's kinda nice... and electronic dice r more for roleplaying in an internetcommunity...
Yeah, delete system32. It's where all the 32bit internet files are stored temporarily. If you don't remember to clean up this area they will be PERMANENTLY saved to the system64 folder.
I still go back and enjoy this! I LOVE the gamers and what the dead gentlemen do!!!
I'll always support whatever they do!
LOL. Please make more of these! Credit to you, this is the best D&D movie ever made. I bet your budget was slightly less than the Hollywood version.
"You splatter Hunk all over the common room."
My stomach hurts like heck right now.

THE SHADOW?!
The shadow.
+Marigio300X The.... Shadow...

The funny part is I have a firbolg (giantkin) who uses a repeating balista as a weapon and it's handheld
Best Film since MP& the Holy Grail!
And about the same quality!

16 years later, I forgot how cool it was!
Reminds me D&D teleportation problem due to weight limits. Cutting off unnecessary legs and arms.
kaantajaiset... memories from OD&D campaigns when I was 12 come to mind
@TriaMaxwell

I prefer Dice over Computer generation. I feel its more personal. If I wanted my Pen and Paper Game to be digital, I'd go play an RPG video game.
did anyone else notice that after the party left the inn, they crossed over a small stream? isn't ambrose deathly afraid of water?
yeah, except they introduced him as a mage in the beginning, i was trying to figure out how he had actual healing magic.
Wait a minute last time i played D&D 3.5, (which was a couple weeks ago), Elves didn't sleep but went into a trance for a few hours so why is the elf archer sleeping.
@Arancaytar I once played a goblin. According to the book, they are afraid of horses, fire, and writing. It was a fun game.
I like how when he fell, we were looking at the shadow of a bridge across the water.
I love how that one guy that didn't show up is just standing around the whole time.
IS it me or is this dm have the most monotone voice ever
Nobody I know uses the electronic ones. Probably because we have a "No phones or laptops at the table" rule.
"That'll totally make up for that orphanage we burned down."
PRICELESS!
"I always expect an ambush!"
"You don't always expect an ambush. How would you ever sleep?"
Epic xD
@JericoNandaba I think the fall might have more to do with it than the punches
Was she answering "The Shadow" to the "Who are you" or the "Who holds you captive" question? In an earlier post on the last part I questioned if the note from the king was actually from the king and not The Shadow.
well i live in apple valley but i have nothin to play with. like no die or even character sheets hope someone can help PLZ!!!!
@alexwaddell08
D&D, and for the most part yes. Though probably due to copy right they seem to use generalizations for specific rules and stats.
wizards only get like 1 - 4 hp per level. plus they usually have not too stellar constitution scores, so i mean you could do worse than 30 hp.
i really want to get into this game but i dont know where to start someone can help me??? PM me plz
Yes. I believe he's one of the founders of Dead Gentlemen.
@Vasarto if i remember on there oficail facebook page they said they are
264 points of damage? my mage only has 30...
I would so not that guy use the ballista that way.
Where did he get it? His back pocket?
sneak ballista....I have to try that sometime
It's the falling damage that kills.
i love the dividing up the old character's treasure amongst themselves. classic. it happens every time!
I personally stick with 3.5 edition rules. Its not too hard to get. Just read through the players handbook and learn a majority of it. From there, your pretty ready to jump in and play.
i cant believe they changed the characters so much from gamers to gamers 2. These movies are great though
Wasn't the player for the elf char the DM in Dorkness Rising?
booyah is from an episode of Teen Titans. Cyborgs says it a lot. IT is the only place i can think of hearing it.
hilarious video. Totally reminds me of my buds when we play....crazy shit always somehow manages to ensue.
Oh we also have to take into account falling damage.
Bawls, has the same blue-colored bottle.
Hahaha... it is the best fiction movies for RPG I've ever seen!!
Great produtcion with the costumes BTW!
@Spadehyena when they made this 4th was not out, it still would be elves
Mages get 1d4 HP per level, plus a CON bonus, if any. As you know, 6(level)x4(max roll on a d4)=24. So yeah, "only" 25 hit points for a 6th level mage is above average.
You are correct; I and he carried a knife and a staff; I guess he was a "healing mage"
264 points of dmg.....
Well, if you can carry it you can use it and if you look through the rule books there isn't a rule yet
5/5 for the splattering of hunk
i like at 6:20 you can see the shadow of the bridge they threw ambrose off of lol
This was made by deadgentlemen productions. You can usually find a copy of the movie at gaming conventions.
@halfNERD17 No this was before 4th edition came out.
Wouldn't all that damage be Non-lethal since they were using their bare fists? So he would indeed be out cold but not dead.
it is based on a role playing game so you can interpret it very flexible
There is no one who has ever played a character who can sneak attack who has not at least thought about doing something like this...
Warhammer Fantasy RolePlaying, the RPG of Warhammer fantasy Battles (WHFB)
mark is by far the best character here....
I loved the part where the Elf is discussing with his GM about the ambush-rules... Could have been me ^^
Barbarins are a good describtion of what people would act like if Technology stopped working: Basically, Like an Animal
saw it several times..you did al realy cool job! :D
However that is irrelevent to the argument because he was clearly only talking about the fact that he would always naturally expect an ambush when walking through a strange woods immediately following a run in with a strange ghost fire thing when the The Shadow's abode is nearby. one of the best quotes!
1:26 fail moment the mage has a fear of water found later in movie lols but great movie guys i love it
maby i should start playing this game ur guys are playing it looks so fun
I don't play D&D, but I don't let my players do that. However, if it might add to the fun, I'll just make it kinda difficult, and generally have some penalty for following actions (like -1 to movement tests for slipping on entrails) ;D.
Mark the Berserker is like Creepy Watson. He's just... there.
bag of holding of course
What type of level 6 mage has only 25 hit points?
The phobia thing regularly happens to my characters. "Wait, I'm supposed to be terrified by this. ARGH!"
Well, just find people on your gaming level and gather gaming experience with them, and its not about rules but having fun. After the ballista shot at 1:00 in, the elf and mage should have totally reacting in a Beavis and Butthead way "Cool", "Heh, heh, heh, yea!"
Was that a Mana energy drink?
I love it when they just bury their friend then took his stuff.
@WWalton1996 DG was writing blind at this point which only increases the epicness of this movie
"Does anyone have any healing magic?"- "Yeah, he didi!"...the great D&D dilemma...
Dude, did everyone in the party take improved unarmed? Or was it just the fall that did lethal damage that killed him???
the DM is so emotionless.
i also play 3.5 i have a 10 druid lv 10 cleric LN god is Obad-hai
lolz. mark's character just stand in the background, not paying attention. XD
I'm pretty sure this is a bridge's shadow in 6:20 XD
Oh yeah, Ambrose doesnt need to close the door. He has magic. Hell yes.
Wait... If they play once a week, every friday, then must be friday in the movie. But then, why does that girl have a test in the morning?
Great movie! I wish every adventure of my own group would end up as a movie. :P
Ok how would he have died he would have taken subdual or what ever damage but still have all his hp
Where did he get the Balista?
We play oldschool in a livingroom sitting around a table, drinking, eating, talking, throwing the dice and calculate in our heads...
It may be not up to time, but it's kinda nice... and electronic dice r more for roleplaying in an internetcommunity...
Of cuz we do... ? What r you playing..?
264 of damage. They made sure the number was divisible by 3. They're the best!!
Not if you bring your Batleae o the session...
"that'll totally make up for that orphanage we burned down" LOL. Great stuff.
"I ready my sword."
"I draw my dagger."
"You're still asleep."
"Oh yeah."
Nimble falls down
lol ^_^
Yeah, delete system32. It's where all the 32bit internet files are stored temporarily. If you don't remember to clean up this area they will be PERMANENTLY saved to the system64 folder.
@AleBliska they ARE making a gamers 3!!! the movie is already writen, once they make enough money, they'll make it
"And that'll totally make up for the orphanage we burned down..." Richard, is that you? I thought you said that orphanage attacked you!
I like how Mark just stands there lol
Wait I didn't see Rogan's guy anywher in TG2
After Nimble kills hunk Ambrose : "Cool." LMFAO makes me laugh everytime
Why not have both?
You killed me!! Oh man. This movie is funny.
When all else fails, there is the No 1 Rule in the DM's Guide: The DM is always right.
