It actually is so frustrating for a DM when players always try to kill your NPCs while they're talking, and it's also true that games of D&D make so much noise.
I play DnD in Rl with a guy who's pretty much like the ranger guys. Always giving the DM a hard time when he doesn't get things the way he wants them :(. But anyway good video, it really reflects how a good DnD session can be :)
"I go into a Berserker Rage!" (Yeaahhhhh) ---Mark the Red: HHHHRUHAH--- ---Everyone turns their heads: Whuaaaa?--- ---Bandit Lings let's his glass fall--- I seriously LOL'd at that one
Ooh man, keeping shooting that guy in the throat.... I so love you for uploading this. "Now begins the killing, followed by light salad." OML (oh my LOL). Oh the fighting is so cheesy. And "Mark" just standing still....
That's brilliant! I've never played these tabletop RPGs, but I so want to. If I manage to do join a group, but end up too busy, I'll make my character a chronic narcoleptic!
@OdinAlderwood13 It's a game and thus since the dial decided the arrow was going to hit, it will hit no matter what, even if it has to chase down it's target.
Dude, tabletop games were not only the original RPG, they're also the only outlit where people can actually role-play with their friends, and the game feels very real. No glitches, everything is scripted, NPCs can say your name, and the graphics in your head are great.
The RD is a college dorm's Resident Director; usually a graduate studeht who is a liittle more experienced and gets a free room on the first floor. Some colleges call it a RA.
ty i agree with that u should not follow a plan that u want your story to go a certain direction because your players might surprise u and go off into a trail u might not have seen make u think and improvise.
When the speech starts from the start (after 2nd death I believe) count and you will hit 20 seconds It's great that he had to get killed 3 times before the battle could begin
Heh! I like the barbarian idea for some reason. And my old friend Matt back in the Air Force used to keep the "AFK" player-characters in a magic bottle, genie style, during one of his campaigns. The party's magic-user always carried the magic bottle around, until the magic-user's player got a TDY for three weeks, so someone else had to carry the magic bottle instead. That bottle sure got around. :-)
Random thought: 4:04 Backstab/Sneak Attack from a tree. I actually had a Thief in my old Air Force campaign do that. He did the Climb Walls/Backstab from above on the underside of a small footbridge once, too. I remember actually giving the thief a bonus to hit, because for some strange reason people tend to NOT look up when they're searching for something or someone. Has anyone else here tried stunts like this? :-)
@Icarus19911991 I'm in college now, and our D&D group is three girls and one guy. Then again, that makes sense as a reflection of college demographics, especially arts colleges like mine. Most of the guys are either off performing in shows, partying, or playing Super Smash Brothers.
2:34 I could SWEAR this monk guy in the brown robe was yelling "TROOOGDOOOOOR!!!" when he was charging. Made even more funny by the brown robe, which all proper peasants wear.
I have the same problem, man. None of my players are role-players. However, I have come up with one remedy that works about 33% of the time; force them to go into a long, complex conversation, and every time one of the characters says something bluntly without role-playing, you can just make your NPC say something like "My, you're blunt!" or "Well, you must not be the sharpest tool in the shed..."
@celestedrake I'm actually at a 2:1 ratio (4 girls, 2 guys) at the moment. It's actually quite good because, contrary to stereotypes, etc, the girls in my campaign are kickass role-players.
I think they all have covers. I think that was on purpose. Maybe they were worried about copyright issues or something. I think this movie was entered and won some contest at a Gencon one year, btw.
@GaryAnyanka Strange. I play RPG only two years, and I played only with two girls in the party. One with Skype, and she played it way before I started it. The other girl just started recently in the IRL party. I heard about a few more girls, but nothing more. Oh, and maybe there will be a third girl. But she hesitates. :D Well, maybe one of the reasons of this, that in Hungary classic RPG is not a popular one. I heard only there are less and less people still playing it.
@Navran666 Some DM's don't, My DM for what he does is similar, if your not there for the session, Your character is put on "zombie mode" which in essence means he just follows the group, and if you miss the session your SOL for experience.
It's kinda funny that the one guy goes from a munchkin rules-lawyer who constantly pisses off the GM in this one, to a DM surrounded by munchkin rules-lawyers who constantly piss him off in gamers 2.
"On that note, in every RPG there is always a Mark. Fucker shows up and leaves whenever he pleases." I heard that. I've had Marks in so many campaigns I've run, no matter what the RPG is. Inevitably, the other players and I stop including the Mark in any major group undertakings or plot events, because the Mark can't be counted on to be there to play his role. And THEN, the Mark bitches that, for SOME reason, nobody in the group includes his character in anything anymore.
@TKozlows My first D&D group was comprised almost entirely of women. There were two guys, and one only played sometimes and then he was suspended from school and didn't come back.
@GaryAnyanka Listen I'm from Huston TX and in the off chance you're from around here I'm looking for at least one more player for D&D and WoD. So if you're from around here and want to play it would be grate to know.
Yes, the DM is supposed to be a rules arbitrator and story builder, not your boss. If the players want to do something he should never say "No, because I say so"
its more comical in my campaigns. once our mark type player had to have his character strapped to the back of our barbarian cause he was unconscious. another time, the DM had him randomly wander off and create a whole quest to figure out wtf he was doing and get him out of trouble.
Reason #3 why I think this was a trap set up by The Shadow. There just so happened to be a bandit group hired by The Shadow on the road to the ruined castle that the astral projection of the "princess" told them to go.
It was pretty obvious where this encounter was going when a bunch of armed individuals jumped out and surrounded them. There was no reason why they shouldn't take the initiative and quickly knockout the leader which would have sewn some confusion into their ambushers. And PCs can break rules. It is only NPCs who can't break rules because they only exist by means of rules. Players exist by means of roleplaying or storytelling which transcends and can be overly stifled by rules.
Look at 1:09,when the archer shot him the second time...these 2 bodyguards started to alugh wafter that...u can see it lol...the purple ninja around 4.23 OMG...and that guard who just stands still, and that nervous woman :D.And that talk about which Mark prefers(women or games)...freaking hillarious
Man I Love RPGs. I Play Werewolf - the Forsaken on Mondays, A Supernatural RPG on Tuesdays, A Shadowrun RPG on Wednesdays and A Battle Royale RPG on Fridays!!!!! Ah College, It Accomodates This Kinda Stuff So Well!!!! :D
It actually is so frustrating for a DM when players always try to kill your NPCs while they're talking, and it's also true that games of D&D make so much noise.
man, Newmoon and Mark are freakin' badasses!
*Bandit gets shot in the throat*
"You're fired."
So cool...

i love the part where the arrow chases the Bandit King down hahaha gaming is so underappreciated
Sweet! These are the best D&D videos I have seen.
The tracking shot of the arrow was very funny.
thank you, this brings me back to the days i use to play. i have to say that i love how you cut in and out of table top. very good
Epic is an understatement! This rocks! I cannot tell you how close to our own sessions this runs!!!
Have fun storming the castle - taken from Princess Bride?
The recently used it even in Dragon Age :).
"I go into a Berserker Rage!"
(Yeaahhhhh)
---Mark the Red: HHHHRUHAH---
---Everyone turns their heads: Whuaaaa?---
---Bandit Lings let's his glass fall---
I seriously LOL'd at that one
This is fun. I just saw the Dorkness Rising last night. Its great to see the same actors in this.
"So... we're in the forest, right?" :D Made me laugh.
I just love the bass them they habe it's like: Hilarity is about to ensue!
Ooh man, keeping shooting that guy in the throat.... I so love you for uploading this. "Now begins the killing, followed by light salad." OML (oh my LOL). Oh the fighting is so cheesy. And "Mark" just standing still....

"can I go into a beserker rage?"
"ok I go into a beserker rage!"
LOLlercakes
the natural 20 arrow going around and around chasing the guy until it hit him was classic!
I love the next part :D now remember you've never met him before, and the last person you trusted tried to kill you...
at 3 mins and 42 seconds in you see the bandit king fighting the theif in the backround and he's still holding his drink thats awsome and you know it!
The RD is a college dorm's Resident Director; usually a graduate studeht who is a liittle more experienced and gets a free room on the first floor. Some colleges call it a RA.
Da best part of The Gamers
awesome work!
Haha, the part where the character just kills the bandit king before the DM is ready for it is so true to life.
Ok. For anyone who saw that purple ninja, I'm pretty sure it's from one of Dead Gentleman's previous movies.
How can the bandit king still be alive after getting hit in the beck with an arrow right before the party got attacked??
How does rolling a perfect 20 give the arrow homing flight?
Actually, Berzerker`s can only go into Berzerker rage by dealing or taking a certain amount of damage
i like how the archer nods and counts lol
ty i agree with that u should not follow a plan that u want your story to go a certain direction because your players might surprise u and go off into a trail u might not have seen make u think and improvise.

Oh man this is so awesome.
i love you dudes.....do you stil play????
is there comming more :the Gamers:????
I was in a game full of evil characters where we actually killed the bandit leader as he was beginning to speak.
Heh! I like the barbarian idea for some reason. And my old friend Matt back in the Air Force used to keep the "AFK" player-characters in a magic bottle, genie style, during one of his campaigns. Oh hey! I just saw the purple ninja mentioned in the credits!

240p we meet again
The DM has the charisma and charm of a lead weight
2:34 I could SWEAR this monk guy in the brown robe was yelling "TROOOGDOOOOOR!!!" when he was charging. Made even more funny by the brown robe, which all proper peasants wear.
at the end why does it say hes dressed in a flowing wizards robe and has an arab mistery about him 2 times
havent they ever heard of subduel damage? what version of dnd are they playing in?
Based on DnD rules, getting stuck in the jugular or trachea with an arrow only does like 21 points? of damage and the NPC probably had about 60 hp.

"Have fun storming the castle" "Yeah, you too" lol
i know.....i have seen it five times now....
@GaryAnyanka Same here. It's awfully difficult to play Call of Cthulu by yourself.
DM: now begins the killing folowed by a light salad.
guy dies
Bandit king: your fired
And during the whole fight Mark's character is still just standing there LOL!!
this is so me and my buddies in college..before we all had to work and sched fouled or off days.
It's kinda funny that the one guy goes from a munchkin rules-lawyer who constantly pisses off the GM in this one, to a DM surrounded by munchkin rules-lawyers who constantly piss him off in gamers 2.

by 3.5 rules, isn't Rogar also a barbarian?
@TKozlows My first D&D group was comprised almost entirely of women. There were two guys, and one only played sometimes and then he was suspended from school and didn't come back.
@GaryAnyanka Listen I'm from Huston TX and in the off chance you're from around here I'm looking for at least one more player for D&D and WoD. So if you're from around here and want to play it would be grate to know.
@GaryAnyanka alrite, well if you had to guess what do u think the ratio is between guys playing and girls playing?
Story trumps rules, bro. Basic rule of every RPG I've played.
it's rules like that that are adding onto the reasons video games are eclipsing tabletop games.
LoL @ 6:51 through to the arrow hitting!
Classic awesomeness!
XD

lol at Mark suddenly foaming at the mouth.
its more comical in my campaigns.

another time, the DM had him randomly wander off and create a whole quest to figure out wtf he was doing and get him out of trouble.
why is a monk in a gang of bandits, and attacking people?
Mark is still my favourite character.
YES! Princess Bride reference!
Reason #3 why I think this was a trap set up by The Shadow. There just so happened to be a bandit group hired by The Shadow on the road to the ruined castle that the astral projection of the "princess" told them to go.
9 ppl are about to see a barbarian rage
*bodyguard dies*Bandit King: Your fired.
ah. that poor poor wizard...
Heh. My DM's threat if we acted stupid was "Rocks fall, everyone dies."
Make way for the bandit king!
Did anyone besides me see the PURPLE NINJA at around 4:22 or so? O_o
@Mrsaysyou25 thx, I havent played that part yet. I am in the Deep Roads, trying to rescue the paragon.
Isn't Kelly LeBrock and Beverly D'Angelo suppose to be in this movie?!
That long-haired guy shold've played Rogar.
Gotta love the random purple ninja :P
The archer should've said "It's just a model." at 9:30
@Mrsaysyou25 The Golem Shale says it to you when you levae her at the last battle and head for the dragon without her

Hey, isn't the Bandit King the same actor as the DM? Hehehehe...
The princess is in another castle!
There is "The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising" on YT...
By the name of Sam Raimi, that was a beautiful shot!

Have you ever taken a test on Saturday?
lol it always amazes me how much my players can be out of character....it's really annoying sometimes and makes DM-ing painful....:(
"...uh, we're in the forest, right?"
I love when Mark react and they "uuuh o.O" xD
Mark, epic scaryface closeup for the win!
Aah... Who was the guy in purple suit? The one who die form Bandit King?!
Anyway, the Purple Man kick ass.
@balric1 fun eh ? :P
I was in with mainly good ones ... we had to wait.
Even better:
We're in a battle?
Am I there?
Yeah.
Can I go into Berserker Rage?
Yeah.
I go into Berserker Rage.
"BLOOD, DEATH, AND VENGEANCE!!!"
