Did he ever used it as medicine, too, because prior vaccines came ,chocolate was used as med, even still used, today, natural chocolate is also bitter as well, add sugar to it ,the ancients never knew about sugar until the 1500s they added spices to it, Cinnamon and Chocolate, is aztec Chocolate .,

RobinTheKiller66 TV chocolate was originally a drink basically translates into bitter drink because South America did not have cane sugar or any readily available sugar source so the natives never sweetened it.

My father is a cacao farmer, too, here in the philippines. Our way of fermenting the cacao seeds is by means of soaking the beans in a water. After several days, we remove the slimy parts and let it dry. When it is sun dried, we branch it, remove the shell, then grind it and the final product comes. The chocolate or what we call tableya.

the liquor is basically cacao nibs that has been crushed really fine and the cacao butter released turning it into a liquid state. The spinning machine is called a melanger or a wet grinder, it basically has 2 granite wheels that spins on top of a granite bottom, crushing and refining the cacao nibs and turning it into the liquor

Did u know that when chocolate firsts came to Europe, it was so expensive, that no one but the only the rich, like royals can buy it.

    • @senoritaartistica1999

There was some kind of process done, I forgot, that made it even cheaper for everyone to buy it, and That Hershey's was the very firsts, Candy Bar Ever Made.

My grandmother taught us how to eat cacao fruit. It is slimmy. And sweet. After eating it the beans will be dried under the sun. And she will roast it. Then grind it. Until it forms into liquid chocolate. No sugar no anything. Then when the pure chocolate hardened. She will mixed it in a "champurado" choco rice. It is delish. 😋
