My oldest daughter got me into them. Took her to her 1st concert....yes it was STP. I stood 5 feet in front of this guy and his voice is so powerful you can hear him over the mic. He's a beast. But a gentle giant. Super kind and cool to my daughter.
That guy has one of the strongest growls I’ve ever heard in metal. And he can reach such utterly low frequencies with his harsh vocals. Their drummer is like some kind of inhuman machine. These newer extreme metal bands are definitely taking things up a notch. Though of course musical genres and styles should be ever evolving and ascending. And that’s a great point regarding your ability to discern details- a classical background means catching facets of vocal work that untrained listeners can miss.
Alex is very good at projection of his voice. The demolisher part at the end he does with no mic and in most settings you can still hear him through out the whole area
Right! Compression reverb and eq for sure.. but that’s not changing anything pitch or distortion wise.. you can hear when a screamer uses distortion in their breathing.. it’s a stylistic choice sometimes. Bands that don’t obviously use effects include emmure cohered and cambria. Traitors deftones. Once she listens more it will become glaring and undeniable when doctored vocals come up.. the was a time from about 2005ish to about 2014 when the melodic singers in bands like these would drop an album.. everyone was digging it and then live the singer is an octave or two lower and the melody doesn’t hit like it could have lol.. ismfof, tdwp, I’m looking at you..
I literally just subbed for the metal vocal reactions even tho Ik that not what your channel is about lol. But it’s cool it’s like a nice lil treat you get once in awhile.
Ahhh Ivan the Terrible (Lead Singer)....He Actually Did a Vocal cover of another Band..(Mudvayne) Called Dig...Killed IT!.....So Cool and So Happy How Open Minded You Are on This Channel😊
Pretty good reaction! 😅 No seriously you didn't even ask if he was possessed. Fun fact, Alex does a bit in concert where he gets the crowd to quiet down and he does that without a mic, and everyone can hear him just fine, like in opera. Also oddly, harsh vocals tend to be on the quiet side. Has something to do with breath control and not damaging yourself, and the false cords. But not Alex, lol. Great reaction!
Oh I called him Ivan😂😂😂..😂.....I'm not Too much into them Cuz they..SOUND like many Other bands I Already Love.....But I respect Their Energy...And I know They LOVE THEIR FANS❤❤
Alex Terrible is great, especially his lows, but you haven't heard nothin till you've heard Dickie Allen from Infant Annihilator, he has an extremely unique nastiness to his voice that nobody else can quite match. Will Ramos from Lorna Shore cites him as his biggest influence. The Infant Annihilator song "Blasphemian" shows off his range and talent quite well, and the video for it is...interesting, to say the least.
@AaliyahCapili I second Blasphemian. I'm running out of reaction videos to watch for that song and I crave more lol. Just go into it knowing that it's satire and isn't meant to be taken seriously
You should do a reaction to A-Ha's song, Take On Me. Very popular song here in the Philippines (amongst others) back in the 80s. Great video they have as well...
you are welcome - it is a pleasure watching your reactions. Sigur Ros, I highly recommend this live video: th-cam.com/video/rAVWUQA_C4Y/w-d-xo.html@@AaliyahCapili
Not sure why this is recommended as a first for reacting to this band with a reactor that is not primarily a metalhead. Bonebreaker live in Moscow is a good one to ease them into STP

Alex Terrible has developed his own vocal technique, so he has a unique style.

No effects are added to his vocals.. that’s all him
🥰
I mean there's a couple layered sections in this song, but generally there isn't any heavy doctoring of those layered vocals.
@@TylertheFancyI feel alot of good singers vocals are over produced sadly.
She is talking of physical effects, she knows its all him.

Nah, Immortal Disfigurement: KING
@@jesselewis5699 No offense, but their video is very boring - while "Viking" is a little more emotional and driving.

Great observation and reaction Aaliyah! Happy Easter weekend by the way!
Thank you! You too!🌺
That drum pattern you are talking about in that kind of music. It's called a breakdown.
Thanks for sharing
The first songs i heard was Bratva and Agony which got me into STP. Would suggest 1984, Viking or the other 2 i mentioned

Nice to see you get your clothes hangers at IKEA too :) And yes, good band lol

lol You look caught between “this is cool”, way too much energy and fear 😂. Totally normal response to these guys the first time.

It's not fry. The harsh sounds do not use the vocal cords at all. He does sometimes mix pitched sounds with the harsh sounds.
