Destiny 2: Prophecy Solo Flawless Dungeon Guide - No Exotics, Pinnacles, Rituals, or Season Mods

  • In the spirit of the previous dungeon solo guide, my Prophecy guide will yet again heavily restrict my loadout to make this as accessible as possible. This dungeon is much harder than its predecessors as far as solos go. The fights are much more combat intensive and even the in between parts can be perilous if you're not cautious.

    Falling Guillotine - Relentless Strikes/Whirlwind Blade/Boss Spec
Seventh Seraph MG - Field Prep/Vorpal Weapon/Minor Spec (2nd encounter)
Mods Used: 1x Minor/Major/Boss Spec, 1x Concussive Dampener, Special/Heavy Ammo Finder, Hand Cannon/Sniper Reload Speed, Sniper or Sword Reserves (depended on if I had good armor), Sniper/Sword Scavenger, 2x Remote Connection
My armor was just well rolled armor that I've been collecting.
Weapons to consider outside of the challenge limitations:
Mountaintop (bosses), Anarchy (bosses), Recluse, Falling Guillotine (bosses), Trinity Ghoul, Xenophage, 21% Delirium (2nd encounter), Riskrunner
Mods to consider: Taken Spec/Armaments/Barrier, any Charged With Light mods (Protective Light for defense)
If you do have stuff like Mountaintop and Anarchy, then you should be playing the dungeon almost the same way as I do in the video. I actually liked using a sword way more than Mountaintop/Anarchy for the first boss, but for the Kell Echo, it's definitely much safer than using a sword. For the second encounter, I don't know how much Anarchy is really the best idea since there is no boss. I've had people tell me that they were able to solo the dungeon on their first try, third try, using Mountaintop/Anarchy. Just play things very slow and cautiously and you should be ok if you're decked out in high level gear and weapons.

You can swap the weapon mods on your special weapon from major spec to boss spec while you are falling into the damage room. You can then swap it back after damage is done.

In the cube room after dunking the mote, you can wait around and acolytes will still spawn on their timer if you need ammo for the next room. This also applies to the rooms before the final boss DPS. You can dunk the 3rd mote, kill the ogre, and if you need ammo, wait for a psion wave or two. (you can also use this time to take a breather and mentally prep for DPS or the next cube room)

Here’s my easy mode guide, obviously gonna talk about exotics and some raid exotics. If you wanna make the first boss a cakewalk, use trinity ghoul. It will wipe out each group is psions in one shot. Bonus points for using the catalyst. Add dark drinkers as well for boss DPS and your golden. Any kinetic special you like will get the job down for knights, but I used MT. A shotty will do work too. For the wasteland I recommend either xeno or anarchy for the blights you clear them nice and quick. Put on a long range weapon for hobs. Second encounter riskrunner is amazing and with a sniper you’ll breeze through it. Final boss I would use anarchy and MT of a sniper. A primary with HCR will stun psions so that will be nifty for clearing. Take your time and you will get it done in no time!

HOT TIP: It is true that detonating a mote will cause you to lose all forward momentum, but that ONLY happens if you are physically holding the W key or forward on your controller. IF you jump forward and release the W key just before you detonate, your momentum WILL carry you forward. This is a HUGE HELP in basically every encounter.

    IMPORTANT TIPS BELOW THIS BTW
Personally as a titan main, I would say it's the hardest since warlocks have devour (it's so op, imo use it in the first encounter) and hunters have invis which can help you out a lot since each encounter has barely any safe room
Tips: barrier mods give 20% reduction, hive barrier procs on taken knights so having taken + hive barrier gives 40% damage reduction
Riskrunner is VERY good here, damage reduction + no reload, VERY good for devour
You can get riskrunner from a new light quest
You can get taken barrier from last wish chests (can do bonus chests solo, guides on youtube)
You are garenteed a hive/levi mod you DON'T have in heroic menagerie, it is quite easy with an lfg group, do this until you unlock hive barrier
Major resist also helps with damage reduction but focus recovery first
On legendary guns, use taken spec to deal more damage to enemies which DOES help in a pinch and all of the enemies here are taken so you don't need minor/major/boss specc
    Encounter tips:
first encounter, immediately run behind a wall and try to keep on the move, if there is too much fire than you may get stuck in a bad situation
Second encounter, not sure if datto mentioned this but hobgoblins and knights are linked together, if you kill a hobgoblin, a knight will spawn, if you kill a knight, a hobgoblin will spawn, from the runs I have done they have similar spawn patterns so they can be very predictable, knights are easier to deal with than hobo gobos as most of the time you are 2 shot from the hobgoblins (also in the final room, the hole in the floor has no death barrier, don't ask why I know this but can be handy in a pinch)
Third encounter tip 1: you NEED to get one plate down as fast as you can, using riskrunner you can get the psions down really quickly so you can focus the knights while having damage reduction, once you have got one corner down, the fight is significantly easier
Tip 2: you don't have to stand on the plate to dunk the motes, if you huddle by the wall where the beam is, the walls closest to the boss, you can dunk the motes from there, sure the boss can still hit you but you are mostly safe from the other ads
Tip 3 (boss damage phase): FOCUS THE HOBGOBLINS, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, solo flawless is NOT a speedrun, it is a fight about attrition, you need to prioritise your safety over extra damage, having that little chunk of boss health lower down means nothing if you die and have to restart the entire dungeon (also make sure to remember dark entrophy, always stay inside the boss' ring)
This was an extremely long comment, I hope I have managed to help someone at least, i doubt this will get traction but if anyone reading this has any questions whatsoever, I will answer them to the best of my abilities
Good luck guardian. You will need it.

As someone who doesn't have mountaintop, a poorly rolled Militia's Birthright saved my flawless run because of 'blinding grenades.' Firing it even near a mob stuns them for quite a few crucial seconds keeping you alive, I would just fire them at the knights and stun them while clearing the psions. You can also stunlock the knights and ogres with it. Wendigo does the same job as well, this coupled with riskrunner really keeps you alive at the end.

Skip the first encounter, use devour or defensive strike, use risk runner to stay alive, xeno to take down blights, do the double banking glitch (jump up very high when you have max motes and bank when you are in the middle of the two pillars you need to cleanse), get on top of the cube because nothing can hit you there, don’t use a sparrow, use a sniper and walk down ribbon road, use icarus dash and a sword, shoulder charge is good too, cleanse one side and take down snipers before killing the boss. You can go through the tunnel many many times, staying alive is more important. Good luck.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend Witherhoard for anyone who doesn’t have anarchy. It has very good ad clear, very good dps, 1 shots knights (at proper levels) and since it takes a while to kill a knight, you can blight them, move to light/dark, then pick up their motes. It’s also very good for the kell echo, as you can kill hobgoblins while passively doing damage .

On my flawless run I ran Well the entire time and saved the well on the final boss for when she goes to the stairs. I went behind to where you would step on the portal to go back to the big room. There are 2 of those small pillars there. I placed well right up against the right pillar when you are facing back where you came in the platform room. and just peeked and shot. I had MT and Anarchy and if I had a perfect damage phase I could have got half health off in one phase. If you are using a GL you might be able to get some good damage off at the end doing this. It works with bubble too. If you are using it in a season with oppressive darkness then throw a nade at the start of the phase for some nice DPS boost, then save nade for the stairs. Throw the nade to get the debuff then cast bubble behind one of the pillars and you get another nade on super cast. You get a great debuff and buff and can really hammer her health down. It should be long enough to unload everything on a heavy GL. I waited till I got by super back before going in. Another tip is dont stand behind those pillars on the platform. Ive been teleported behind them so often. Bait out the first throw and jump to the left platform. Then wait for next portal and jump to the right platform. A hobgoblin spawns on the one right in front of that next. Try to spawn kill the hobgoblins. As you are back loading the damage you can afford to prioritize the snipers. learn the spawn and try to take at least one out as it spawns. before she does the last 2 teleports, being the closest platform and stairs, I was already in the back stairs having killed the 2 snipers there. When she teleports to the closest platform I was using the left side, the side that she is, on the stairs to peek and shoot. You are just within the radius for the dark entropy to not build. When she teleports to the stairs do what I suggested earlier.
for the final room the first side you are on, to the left near the monument, there is a long pillar with a circle cut out. I started the phases here. A knight spawns close to it and you have easy access to both light and dark, and because its long you can hide from the bosses shooting. Just be careful of adds. Try to get rid of one of those bosses that would have an angle and after that should be much more manageable.
Riskrunner in cube room and first boss is great. Damage reduction and it chains and stuns enemies. Easy to kill the adds that will multiply over time. I believe in all areas its 3 sets of 3 adds that spawn. After cleansing, and before going through a portal, more adds spawn, the same number, so if you want to farm ammo or super you can just kill them. This works in both cube room and final room. Takes a min or 2 for them to respawn after you killed the first wave.

  • @LuckySevens
    @LuckySevens 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Here's a tip for the Hexahedron aka cube encounter. If you need to bank dark motes then I highly recommend scaling the pillars and getting as high up in the room as possible. Every location you stand above the cube is in the dark and being able to look down upon every enemy at a distance means you can kill them so much easier than on the ground.
Edit: If you want this to work you have to check where you need to dunk your motes at and get to the top of the room as soon as possible. If you're too slow at jumping then the hobgoblins will just snipe you before you make it up top. Also if you have Xenophage then it helps a ton for killing knights and snipers.

I found a subsistence-rampage Gnawing Hunger with taken spec to be really really effective in taking out the psions. With rampage procced, it did some work on the knights as well. It cannot be overstated how much taken barrier (and hive barrier b/c it stacks against the knights) helps with survivability. Here's a note on why Well works through the phalanx shield as well as a few other enemy mechanics. It counts as being in a super, and supers generally bypass certain shield or immunity mechanics. This includes both phalanx and taken phalanx shields being bypassed be melees and swords, being able to melee and sword Hobgoblins through their solar barrier, and damaging enemies through taken goblin shields projections. Unfortunately, bubble does not provide these kinds of benefits, but you do get a better damage boost, and the ability to walk around with the buff if need be. Also an overshield if you choose to wear the Helm of Saint 14 like me.

I would like to add some tips as well from my experience. It helps save a lot of time skipping the first mote collection phase, you can find guides online. The general idea here is using sword swings and well timed jumps to get up a hole near the initial spawn. This bypasses the first mote collection phase and brings you straight to the Phalanx boss.
In the wasteland section after the first encounter, all you have to do is destroy each of the three blights for three sets of spawns. The snipers should be your priority, they hit pretty hard. After you destroy the blights, remember to run by Toland to start spawning the next set.
For the cube encounter, Xenophage is really good here. Killing the snipers procs the knights to spawn and vice versa. The snipers will be the biggest threat. Remember you can use your melee button to move forward while carrying a stack of motes to move a bit faster. Also you can run on and off the middle plate after you have cleansed and hide in a corner. You will still be teleported and it saves you in case the entire room is shooting at you.
Anarchy is amazing for the final boss. If you are a warlock, Contraverse Hold is also really good here as you can keep Oppressive Darkness on him each time he teleports. For the cleansing phase, getting one corner cleansed as soon as possible, otherwise there will be no cover.

  • @happykarla102
    @happykarla102 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

For the motes, the tip i can suggest is if there is still ads present just pick about 2/3 of it and leave the last one, this will give you time to clear ads and when the last mote starts to blink pick it up and it should reset your mote timer.
Another tip is if you have any grenade launcher with blinding effect it can save you in tough situations, it may not deal alot of damage unlike snipers but it can provide a brief moment of recovery for you and doing splash damage to nearby enemy is not bad.

    1. If you MELEE with the motes, as in pushing 'c', rb, or r1 (I think, I'm not too sure about ps4 controls) you can jump and melee without exploding the motes.

  • @MyNameIsAlph

Not going to lie, I found devour a much better bet for the whole of the dungeon than well. You need to be more aggressive than if you were running well, but the number of adds means that you can almost always have devour up, and the grenade regen from kills with devour active just help even more. In the hexahedron encounter, the only time I didn't have devour running was when I moved from one room to another, and I always had a grenade to eat to refresh devour. The super also does great damage on the boss if you fire it when you first drop-in.
I also heavily recommend Xenophage. If you are attempting this dungeon solo flawless, you should be good enough to find an lfg to run the quest. It is the best weapon for the Hexahedron encounter, killing Hobgoblins in one hit and Knights in three if you are at least 1060.

tips for doing it with exotics and stuff: 1.if you pick up 1 mote it’ll reset the 30sec timer, so if you ever have 3 motes and it’s unsafe to get the other 3 on the ground, just try to pick up one and your timer will reset 2. riskrunner is amazing for all the parts, especially if you use a sword, for the final boss phase anarchy is better for safety but riskrunner and sword allows for the adds to be taken out. 3. i suggest saving your super for after the boss room, because one of the more rooms has a different spawning path where psions will spawn way more often than the previous rooms. if you need proof that i did it my gt is hobohalo1 and if you need more direct tips lmk!

Titan specific tip for the final boss is that once you dispell one of the three clones in a room, the place where the clone was standing is not a bad place to go to if you have Towering Barricade up. Just go to the platform, drop a barricade and you can kill the ogre from relative safety and chill for a second. You may wanna switch back to rally for boss phases tho. And for the whole dungeon, if you're on titan, barricade can be good but you wanna be careful about not standing near it since the flames can splash you behind the barricade.

Yes this solo flawless is WAY harder than Shattered Throne or Pit Of Heresy. Thank you Bungie for this sort of content, it takes me back to those solo Legendary campaign runs on Halo 2. I've approached this solo run in pieces. Master a part, then move on to putting everything together. I'm attempting this with a devour warlock and Sin.
First boss: Izanagi's Burden, Gnawing Hunger with subsistance and demolitionist and god rolled falling guillotine. Taken specs and mods in whatever can hold it. Well of radiance, relying on my GH and sin to refresh the grenade for panic moments. One shot the Knights, clear the psions, dunk. Then well to one phase the boss.
Hexahedron: Whispering slab with sympathetic arsenal, my GH and Xenophage. This time running devour with everything else the same. The way I go about this is always have two knights, I can easily hide from the knights while dunking, whereas the two snipers will always have an angle on me. At every rotation, I start by using devour, one shotting the snipers with Xeno, do some acolyte cleaning then dispatch the two knights as quickly as possible, take the motes from one knight, kill the snipers again, collect the motes from the other knight then dunk. More often than not I can safely dunk while the knights are spawning. I usually stay for a while longer to replenish ammo. I use the bow to kill the acolytes, that way my Xeno is always ready to dispatch snipers and knights, I throw a grenade here and there to get heavy ammo back. It's the safest, most effective strategy I've used for this part.
Kell Echo: this one has been a tough one, it's an attrition battle. The least amount of phases I've managed to kill the boss is in 4 phases, I'm working on lowering to 3, but I have to get many things right. For this, Whiterhoard, my trusty Gnawing Hunger and Line in the Sand with clown cartridge+rapid hit and oppressive darkness. I begin each encounter with devour, drop a blight on the psion spawn, then move on to clean house of psions. I'm managing devour all the time because I'm tanking stuff with hive and taken barrier, GH works amazing to get the grenade back quickly. I kill the knights with Whitherhoard and GH. I hide on the middle side of the arena, from there I tag the ogres, then finish them with auto fire.
Damaging the boss is a choreography. As soon as I spawn, I hit the boss with a direct shot from Whiterhoard, then without moving from where I spawn I get as many Line in the Sand shots I can before I get 4-5 atrophy debuff. Then I make my way to left platforms behind the boss, using devour while I jump to heal then kill the snipers from there, while hiding behind a pillar so the boss can't teleport me. From there I shot another Whiterhoard shot on the boss, then he teleports. From this same platform I kill the next two snipers with GH, then tag the boss some more untill he teleports. I jump on the next middle platform while using devour in midair, when I land I kill the next two snipers. I kill one, then jump over the teleporting wave of the boss, kill the other sniper, tag the boss with WH, then the teleports.
After this I move to the platfrom on the left that's in front of the boss, hug the first pillar to not get teleported, drop a well then use LitS to kill the snipers at the end of the hall, tag the boss some more. He teleports in the platform in front of me; the left one in front of the final boss position. Tag some more with WH and get as many LitS shots I can before he teleports to the end.
It's at this final position I get the most damage in. By this time I have my grenade ready, I drop a grenade on the boss, land. Get the pillar on this platform between me and the boss in such way he can't hit me with his auto attack or his teleporting wave, but I position my self in such way that I can only see his face. He throws his wave, it gets blocked by the pillar, I jump, super and tag with Witherhoard. Then go to town on his face with LitS until I can shoot Witherhoard at the boss again, I do this until he teleports. I can chunk his health at this last spot. If I can get more damage in the boss on the previous platforms I can three phase the boss. Rinse and repeat until boss is dead.
Sorry if this was too long. I'm also using this to collect my notes on the dungeon before I attempt the solo flawless.
    Good luck.

Although this breaks the rules, during my solo flawless run I found taken and hive barrier to be pretty much must have mods (these can be acquired solo quite easily although rng is involved), xeno is very helpful from wasteland all the way until start of last encounter, witherhoard can be very good on the last encounter when paired with something like wendigo or a good interference roll, always focus psions and acolytes when present, walk through the rainbow road area rather than sparrow as it’s much safer, and always remember to take things slow as there’s really no time constraint except mote timer. If u need more ammo on final boss you can wait to go into the sand and fill up on ammo from the psions that spawn every minute or so

When I was giving tips to my friend on solo flawless (he was on a titan) for a 1 phase on a titan with guillotine, (1st boss) all you have to do is pop bubble and go at it until the first wave spawns, kill the whole wave as fast as you can then get back to dps, stick at it and when the 2nd wave spawns only stop dps if a goblin interrupts your damage. If so kill it then get right back at it. He was able to easily one phase it on a titan. Hunters are more inclined to 2 phase. Tad bit of goblin rng involved but this is a reliable way to 1 phase if your on a titan

If need be, you could kill them as well, it’ll just take much more time. Another thing is to prioritize hobgoblins when taking out the blights, as they will destroy you. There should 3 minor hobgoblins and occasionally 1 major hobgoblin. Hope that helped!

Some tips for the phalanx echo:
Do it on a warlock, warlock’s well of radiance can bypass the bosses shield and the shield that taken goblins put up so you can one phase
Control psions. whither hoard is good for this and a grenade launcher with blinding grenades will stop psions from replicating while they are blind:
Don’t stop moving, knights’ cannons really hurt and there fire cannot be out healed by a rift.
Use a sword, this allows a one phase of this boss

TIP FOR SOLO FLAWLESS: I used ruinous effigy for the trash mobs in the dungeon. The blocking attack can easily clear a room while keeping you alive even under intense fire due to the healing. This can also be used to stun knights for a decent period of time, giving you time to start healing or put down a rift/barricade. Ruinous is really easy to get, doesnt take but 40 minutes if you grind out the marrionets, and was a life save for me here. Ideally you want to switch to a sniper or something with oneshot potential for the final boss tunnel, but its a no brainer for the trash rooms.

In the Wasteland encounter, a single tick of Anarchy will take down a Blight. You don’t need to kill any enemies at all, just get the 3 blights and then proc Tolamr.
