Evening Malcolm, you should be having a tot of Wood's Navy Rum with a pipe of pigtail twist...much too strong for land-lubbers like me! Enjoy your sailing. God bless.
I too read about The Broads in The Coot Club and Big Six when I was about 11, I then saw a Hoseasons TV add and pestered my dad to take us on holiday there, It brought the books to life, I've been in love with The Broads ever since.
Happy adventures! So glad for your opportunity to be "messing about in boats"! I am so grateful to listen to your voice, especially now here in America, where we have so many hateful, angry, and ugly voices. You always inspire hope that the good and beautiful will have the final word. God keep you.
When you talk about being a little boy in Africa reading about the Norfolk Broads I remember that my mother was born in Natal, South Africa, and that Kipling came home from India and wrote Puck of Pook's Hill and Rewards and Fairies about the Sussex where I grew up for his children. Literary/real landscapes.
I have a big wind in. the willows and transom collection I collect audiobooks of them and have s and a posters pop in plastic black frames in my room Swallows and Amazons forever im a member of the Arthur ransom Socitey I love the films the 2016 film got me in treated in his world and ive been hooked ever since I have hornby model of the train from the films im yet to get the Fairborn tank from there 1974 film
