Remember that Tommy reloads so fast due to fast reload ability obtained by completing Shooting Range in GTA VC. Before completing it he will touch his guns when reloading, just like Claude.

Well, same as dual-wielding... If d-w was mentioned, then shooting while moving should be there also - both depend on your character's skill.

Vice City has a "fast reload" feature actually, you gain it after getting certain score at shooting range in downtown, what i always hated about that is that npcs do get it too, all of them
Much easier to clear some rampages that requires guns, some uses melee weapons.

If we pit all of them realistically, I have no doubt that Niko will be the winner. Why? Niko is a legit soldier during the Yugoslavs War and probably have experienced in shooting the AK rifle (or most likely the Zastava M70), although no idea how much firefight does Niko actually involved.

Lore-wise, they all (including Anthony Cipriani and Victor Vance) have been involved to gunfights prior the events of all of their own games. Thus, they all most likely have experiences on how to wield firearms.
- GTA III Claude had been robbing with Catalina and an unknown guy (killed by Catalina) for approximately more than 5 years. Chances are they got into gunfights with police more often than not. Claude and Claude Speed aren't the same person, by the way.
- Thomas Vercetti was one of Sonny Forelli's best men if not the best, so good that Sonny tried to frame him so that he can have an excuse to kill him fearing he would overtake the Forelli family, only for Tommy to rise to power, establish his own Vercetti family, and kill Sonny. For Tommy to rise into ranks among Forelli Family means he most likely had his share of gang wars, which involved gunfights, and survived through all of them.
- Carl "CJ" Johnson implied to Toreno that he ever did a gang exchange meet with the Ballas, comparing it to going to Toreno's Mafia exchange meet. In an exchange meet, things could most likely go wrong, and enticed either a gang or mafia war. And then there's also Brian Johnson, CJ's twin, who got killed, and CJ was blamed for his death. Brian highly likely died in a gang war the same way Sweet almost did.
- Anthony Cipriani is literally Salvatore Leone's right hand man. Like Tommy, Toni must have also survived lots of predicaments for him to rise into such rank.
- Victor Vance, despite being a soldier, might not have actually been to war. But if he had, the gunfight experiences he had must have been top tier among GTA Protagonists. Even if he hadn't, he was still actually trained for it.
- Niko Bellic was not only trained to go to war, but also HAD BEEN to war. He arguably had the highest gunfight experiences among the GTA Protagonists, rivaled by Victor Vance if Vic had also been to war.
- Jonathan Klebbitz might have been just a vice of Motorcycle Club, but the MC involved itself in crimes, specifically drug selling in which involves dangerous stunts, such as gunfights. Just like Tommy and Toni, considering Johnny was the Vice Leader of the Lost MC, he must have survived long enough in the game to be in the rank.
- Luis Lopez was in the army like Victor and Niko were, but it was never implied that he had been to war. And if he had, however, it's a different story. Even if he hadn't, like Victor, he was still trained for it. Good things he can practice all his training during the army with the Gold Uzi Yusuf Amir gave him. Lmao.
- Michael de Santa a.k.a. Michael Townley and Trevor Philips were almost the same cases with Claude, but Michael was out of the games for years, while Trevor was pretty much still active. Despite being out for long, Michael still had his edges.
- Franklin Clinton, on the other hand, was more or less the same with Carl Johnson before Franklin went to work with Michael and Trevor, hence his ability to use firearms.
I personally find either Niko, Victor, and Luis if the latter two had been to war, or Niko, GTA III Claude, and Trevor to be the Top 3 shooters in the game. But the others are not to be underestimated, especially Tommy, Toni, Johnny, and Michael. At the end of each GTA events, however? ALL of them are dangerous. CJ, for instance, can probably wield two Uzis or Sawn-off Shotguns after the event of GTA San Andreas.

Not sure about Huang Lee from GTA Chinatown Wars, but Mike from GTA Advance probably ranks a little bit low among these dudes since he, and his friend, were small time criminals before the event of GTA Advance.

Bro you forgot a whole mechanic in San Andreas,cj's skills improve with the time when he shoots,on hitman level he can move and shoot with heavy weapons
He wanted to show us their skills first off whenever you first start the game it's going to be the same if he did do that

Well, CJ actually can Move while Shooting (heavy weapons) too, just like Niko (but only if he reached Hitman weapon level)

That's the one thing with weapons I miss with the GTA games is dual wield. San Andreas is the only one that had that. Rockstar needs to bring that back.

You dont need to reload the gun, you can switch any weapons and switch back to the same weapon and the ammo is restored without reloading

Remember, switching to your sidearm is always faster than reloading.
Lol I remember doing that in SAMP. I had such a strong muscle memory of quickly pressing Q and then E like a few milliseconds before my ammo runs out.

As a gta online player I want to add that you can shoot while you change cover.
Let me explain: you're behind a wall on the right taking cover and there's another cover like a car on the left, you press R1 or RB to quickly change your cover and when he's a bit exposed while changing cover you can actually fire any type of gun by pressing R2 or RT.
I hope I explained myself well enough :)

One extra point for Big Frank, Mr. Therapy and Trevor: when they go take aimed shots out of cover, they pop out to aim as soon as you press the Aim bind. Papa Niko has a very stupid peek-to-pop-out move that is totally stupid and not worth giving up blindfire for.

Fact: GTA IV has an awesome "Take cover" animation. if you're not holding a gun or holding a handgun, Deagle, Micro Uzi, grenades and Molotov cocktails. You can dive roll into cover. And if you're holding an MP5K, assault/sniper rifles, and RPGs. You can slide into cover. (You need to be far enough away from the cover point.)

It's a shame that San Andreas is the only GTA game where you can dual wield certain weapons. Why Rockstar didn't add that to GTA IV and V is beyond me.

As a GTA IV fan, I'll add my two cents to the video.
1) 2:06 Apparently, everyone knows this but Niko's reload animation for assault rifles is broken on PC. You can see it's not complete, because he just cocks his gun and that's all. But he actually reloads the weapon (similar to GTA V animation) when he's crouching. So GTA IV is actually on equal grounds with V in this regard, because I think the reload speed is about the same. The animation can be fixed with the mod Improved Animations Pack, so if it's installed the character reloads assault rifles normally.
2) 5:11 From what I've experienced, disarming works outside of scripts. So, in missions, including side missions like Vigilante, you can't disarm enemies. But if you get into a firefight outside of missions, it seems you can actually do what's shown in the video. Should work on other armed NPCs as well (gang members and probably security guards), not only police. It's also worth adding that SWAT members and FBI agents have two weapons, and if you disarm them, they'll pull out the second one.
I know that probably everyone already knows all this, but I just couldn't help adding it 😄 Thank you for the video and your humour, it really makes your vids special)

It's funny, because in GTA IV, sometimes when you crouch or take cover, it shows an actual reload animation.
And there's mods that, through animation replacements, give the ARs actual reloads. I consider the indispensable, the "stop to pull the charging handle to create more bullets in the mag" is a cringy cop-out.
No matter if you like it or not, GTA V did guns far better.

CJ is pretty good with the guns too, I like the fact that in San Andreas you have those weapon skills, driving skills etc.
But Niko is better and he doesn't need a weapon skills system or driving skills, he's already well trained.

I’d say each one has a special way of doing things:
1. Claude likes to take a stand and shoot until he drops dead or his enemies do with little care.
2. Tommy is the first man to be able to roll, with him being able to dodge many bullets and shoot while running as well.
3. CJ can dual wield many handheld weapons, which is unique to him only.
4. Niko is the only person who can disarm his enemies.
5. Franklin has the ability of extreme agility, making him faster than Niko.
For extras:
1. Michael has the ability to slow down time while shooting. He has extreme precision.
2. Trevor has the ability to make his bullets impact more damage with his rage.
3. Johnny has some killer weapons that are only available to him, like the Sawed Off.
4. Luis can have expensive a** weapons like the Desert Eagle.
Franklin do have good agility but not faster than tomi vessity
Tommy can only roll while falling
CJ can anytime while targeting and crouching

It's been a long time since I've played GTA but if I remember it correctly Michael had the best gun skill in V. I wonder if it could've caused any difference in the results.

If we take it realistically:
Niko Bellic and Lance's brother are the best shooters because of their military training.
I shoot better than most infantryman who are in my shooting group and I never served. Being military trained does not equal marksman’s status. I bet most civilians will shoot better than our boys overseas
