Aaahhhh... Trying to learn the original theme on violin, in some weird key where every single finger on the fingerboard in scrunched up against another finger... fun-ness. I hope to learn this too. SOOOO AWESOME. Seriously, a literal guess is that I've listened to this song at least 35 times, no lie. It. Never. Gets. Old.
Such a sad piece of music... so, so fitting for the titular "unwound future". It takes a hard heart not to tear up at the ending... far more so than the first and second games combined or multiplied. And this game just stacks on the sadness, with the true tragedy surrounded by multiple concurrent events... a masterpiece ending, masterpiece music, and masterpiece game.
@AgentTeddybear The first trilogy of games has ended - namely, the trilogy starring Layton, Luke, and Flora. The second trilogy is two games in in Japan, as a prequel story with a younger Luke first meeting Layton... a third trilogy could very well continue on from the ending of Unwound Future.
It's really amazing how Japanese composers can make a song like this, that has such a European flair to it. I'm really, really impressed. This is quality stuff.
thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou for the link in the description!!!!!! I've been searching for months trying to find a file ty =D This is such an amazing piece of music!
The biggest reason I love the series is the fact that It's so mutch fun to crack these puzzles with someone. me and my girl friend do that all the time.
If we're talking about Layton in Brawl, I thought of a possible one c: You know in the trailers, when a sliding block puzzle pops up and you see Layton's hand with a stylus solving it? That, a puzzle obscuring the screen with a time limit. If you finish in time and get the ball to the end, everyone is KO'd xD
You really have to give congrats to Level 5. The Layton series is really not much more than a book of brainteasers compiled into a video game, but these guys make the absolute most of what they have and put in even more. It kind of shows the potential every game has to be great.
There's currently 3 but they are planning to make 6. However the other two titles, pandoras box and the last time travel are only available in Japan at the moment but they should be realeased in america and europe soon.
Actually, you'd be suprised how small translation teams can be. They push out roughly one translation a year, which I think is pretty good. Plus, they're working on doing the Layton movie for the US.
Agh, I seriously love this music. I love Professor Layton music, they always get me in such an emotional mood... I don't know how to describe it. xD This theme certainly fits to this game, mainly the beginning parts, due to the important events surrounding it. But then again, I don't know much about the game. I haven't played it. D: This Layton game is the one I'm mostly anxiously waiting for it to be localize in America. I hope they release it sometime soon...
Okay, so I wanna share a story about how I played the Professor Layton games, I got the first three games all at once as I love puzzle games. I powered through the first two without much thought, not really paying mind to the story. (I was young sue me) And I hit burnout when I got to this game. I really thought I wasn't going to finish this one AND THEN THE FUTURE LAYTON WAS REVEALED FOR HIS TRUE SELF, up until then, I didn't really care much, but suddenly I started questioning everything. 'Wait a minute, no future flora? future layton isn't layton? We aren't in the future...Oh god what's going on." This game made me, a guy who doesn't care for story, love a story to death, that in my opinion is extremely impressive.
Ay, six games. The fourth game's almost ready in Japan, and there are two more planned after that. Oh, and there's the full length animated film as well...
@browncoatkevin -- oh god, if the third trilogy is going to be a continuation from the end of unwound future... that would be glorious!! siigghh, hopefully so. :'D i love this series. but do you ever think that there are only so many puzzles in the world? O_O; can they possibly run out of puzzles..?!
we could "oo this part is good," or "i love this part," but truth be told, if you count all the parts that are good, that would be the whole song LAYTON FTW!
japanesee games actually work on a regular US DS (i know a guy who has been to japan A LOT and he bought tons of japanese games and learned it to play the games)
@XxMaplerzxX well that depends on your opinion, some might think rap is just junk, but for eminem, to me, its a little bit different. if you don't like him, then fine, your opinion. i find that he's ok to listen to
@icecreamer999 Given where the words "unwound future" show up in the USA version, the words "lost future" are possibly even more poignant and sad. America does like its metaphors and interesting names, that's a fact.
I've been a bit slow. It only just hit me that this is an Argentinian tango, mostly. A really great one though! Lovely arrangement. I trust/guess there will be a CD soundtracking from the game(s) on sale?
They're making a 'fourth' game, but it's the first in a NEW Professor Layton trilogy. ...I believe the new trilogy takes place prior to the events of the Curious Village.
Epic. Layton is awesometacular, and epic. I MEAN, COME ON PEOPLE, HOW MANY BRITISH PROFESSORS OF ARCHEOLOGY DO YOU KNOW THAT CAN FRIGGIN' SWORDFIGHT LIKE A PRO?!?! OR MAKE YOU CRY FOR LIKE AN HOUR STRAIGHT BY TAKING OFF HIS HAT?!?! OR EVEN POSSESS A BOX THAT COULD POSSIBLY KILL YOU?!?! Like I said, EPIC!
Excuse me, but where could I find the sheet music for this? My music teacher needs new pieces for us to play for our next school concert, and when I showed him this video he absolutely loved it. He told me to let him know if I found the sheet music.
Is there anywhere else I can download the song?I tried the link in the description and I couldnt download it because of my service provider.(AOL) Darn aol.XD

@MUSEPLOT Yes this is also the theme for Unwound Future. It is however played near the end of the game :P
This is a very nice piece...this is actually one of my favorites
It's really amazing how Japanese composers can make a song like this, that has such a European flair to it. I'm really, really impressed. This is quality stuff.
there is so much passion in this music and i love it!! :D
thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou for the link in the description!!!!!! I've been searching for months trying to find a file ty =D This is such an amazing piece of music!
this is absolutely awesome, thanks so much for posting it.
This music just fills me with feelings of awesome. It brings a tear to my eye.
The beginning really sets the mood of the song.
just played through this game and it was hugely satisfying ^_^
It's so much fun and the puzzles keep being chalenging!
I love this series. The music in the games is a good enough reason to buy the games.
really fantastic music,...its so unlike most other video games
The biggest reason I love the series is the fact that It's so mutch fun to crack these puzzles with someone. me and my girl friend do that all the time.

when i saw the advert i fell in love with da music
Thanks so much! I love this game!
since the 26th or so last year this was out in japan. I kind of want it now
Wow, I cant wait for the third Layton be out in France !
There's currently 3 but they are planning to make 6.

Ok, it's official, these games have the best soundtracks out of everything else I've heard.
I just love the Violin and piano played in here. I can't wait till this game hits the U.S.
Amazing
Damn, so strong, so beautifull !
yes I also love that part like you`ve been drag to another time

Whut be with the random emptyness at the end?
Anywho, I LOVE this song. The intricate melodies are everything a Layton game is about.
3 people could not solve the puzzle of how epic this is.
Wow (falls off seat)
love this so addicted love the games
it will be worth the wait :D
This is my favourite song
is it just me or does video games have sometimes the most epic music in life, just like this song.
Thanks for the video.
Ay, six games. The fourth game's almost ready in Japan, and there are two more planned after that.
Oh, and there's the full length animated film as well...
Everytime i hear this song, I either think of somewhere in Italy or London XD a verynice song~~
In this trilogy yes.
There is also another trilogy coming set before The Curious Village.
@ToelleUrLaputa But the UK name is The Lost Future...
I don't know why they have to change pretty much everything between the USA and the UK.
I just finished the game!!! (September 27,2010. 10:15 pm) It was great. :)
Yeah, it's last part in the timeline and last part of season 1. But they'll release 3 more for 2nd season
@Luketritonforever well done im starting to learn to play the vioin
Honestly my favorite part is like 0:22 -- 1:22... I dunno, it's just awesome! The whole thing is awesome though.
Best music I've heard in ages. Though the game is too tough for me! LOL
we all feel your pain, PL3 is almost already out in Japan, and yet we don't even have PL2 yet. T~T
professor layton and the specter's flute
set 3 years before curious village
Final Smash could be that a time machine pops up out of nowhere and slows down time for 9 seconds, then explodes causing damage to all nearby. Ah? Ah?
I listen to this all. The. Fucking. Time.
i get eargasms listening to this.
i like the jazzy part in the middle.
@browncoatkevin -- oh god, if the third trilogy is going to be a continuation from the end of unwound future... that would be glorious!! siigghh, hopefully so. :'D i love this series.

talking about layton in brawl, he could use the slot machine gun as seen here in the 3rd game as a special!
I agree, but what moves would Layton have? Confuze with puzzles, run-over with Laytonmobile, SPOILER-sword fight-SPOILER?
@RSPokemonFan498 Someone once said that Video Games are today's classical music
@icecreamer999

Now, as much as I enjoy nintendo games, you can't argue with sales, and currently those xbox shooters are popular right now.
I've been a bit slow. It only just hit me that this is an Argentinian tango, mostly. A really great one though! Lovely arrangement. I trust/guess there will be a CD soundtracking from the game(s) on sale?
@Meishali MUST.
RESIST.
Very much so!
Unfortunately not but I'm pretty sure I heard that the second one was out in the summer.
They're making a 'fourth' game, but it's the first in a NEW Professor Layton trilogy.
...I believe the new trilogy takes place prior to the events of the Curious Village.
thx i like the first game so the others mayby to and i have heard that the are planning to make an animation movie
sorry for my bad english

It's safe, no worries.

Well not to long, well considering the wait of several years before us westerners got Layton 1.
This one looks better than the other 2 =D
Me again, anyone know where to download this music?
I would really love it to put into my mp3 player...
Thanks in advance.
@moipoi123 Tomohito Nishiura composed the music for the Layton games. Pretty cool, eh?
