@@frankboyd. Saw them at the Monterey Jazz Festival at the Monterey Fairgrounds in Sept 2019. We saw them around the same time. I was looking at the line-up and saw that both Larkin Poe and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram were on the bill. Kingfish came out first and played some killer electric blues. Then Rebel Yell and Slide Queen came out and killed it as well. It was three hours of blues rock magic. Met both Kingfish and the blues sisters after the show. They both autographed their latest albums for me. Then I headed over to the Wharf and had some locally caught seafood! It was a day to remember and so much fun! 👍👍👍👍👍
@@frankboyd. By the way, during the blues sisters show, Megan came out in the audience and played some killer slide for us. She was about five feet away from me. I snapped a lot of photos and even got one with me and the two of them after the show! Both Kingfish and the blues sisters were very cool, down to earth people, full of gratitude for their fans. Kingfish and I talked about the blues for a while, and he shook my hand. What really cool people! To see both of these artists on the same day was great!! 👍💖🎸😎
I could never get my old band to sound like this. I had a few blues tunes I wrote that I desperately wanted to have this sort of sonic flavor. On our good days we weren't half bad, but we just never got to the point where we could explain the sound we were going for with a song. What we got usually was okay, but man, I really wanted us to be a bad ass blues outfit. :)
Also, at least in my experience from going to the Edmonton festival and others, Canadian crowds aren't very vocal so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a lot of crowd noise. We tend to wait for the performers to invite us in.

Most of the sound is off of the mixing board so crowd sounds are not very loud.
