That is one thing that has always been apparent with her, in addition to her incredible skills and musical knowledge; namely her top notch writing skills. Her 6 song EP which released on July 21st this year, REALLY showcase her songwriting capabilities. If you listen to the EP in the order you find it on her channel, you will be amazed by the structure of it. And she has been writing a LOT of songs. Angelina was live in the chat during the release, and when asked about it, she said that she has already written more than 100 songs. She also said that she would want nothing more than to be able to put out a new album every 2-3 months...LOL That would have been something. Also her very last song, called Our Time, shows another side of her. The song is a real bop, and I challenge you to sit still. Regarding the lyrics, they are very personal to her. The opening line: “When I was a child I walked the streets. They’d see me everywhere, knew you were all I need”. When she was younger her grandfather used to take her with him to help the homeless on the streets. “I’ll never regret what I do”. She said her grandfather told her that as long as she was true to herself she would never have regrets. “He said I’m watching you from the moon, I see you everywhere, see everything you do”. Apparently he told her that I will be watching you from the moon. In the lyric video with artwork by her Grandmother and Angelina it shows a little girl in a white dress climbing a ladder up to the heavens. The white dress was Angelina’s signature look up until about 11 or 12. Regarding the official music video Angelina said that she designed the storyboards for the video. This was her first original single release through Republic Records at age 14 however she had previously released 3 other originals. Oslo and What Is Life released on her first album Its Magic at age 12 although they were recorded when she was 11. Some say she may have written them when she was still 10. She also released Shield at age 12. She wrote Million Miles after the passing of her maternal grandfather but dedicated it to anyone who has lost a loved one. To date she has released 12 original songs however when asked recently how many songs she has written she said over 100. She says that her song ideas and lyrics come from her journals which she has been writing since she was a little girl.

The picture on the table between she and Ivan is her maternal grandfather, as is the picture on the wall in the video. There is no question that that both songs were devoted to Mery's husband, AJs maternal grandfather. Mike so very happy you reacted to your first Angelina original so quickly after saying you wanted to explore her music. I learned of Angelina about 8 months before "Million Miles" debuted in November 2020. I had lost 5 loved ones over a 3+ year period and felt completely lost emotionally. Angelina had been working on my emotions over those 8 months, as I listened to her vast catalog of music every day. At first listen, "Million Miles" broke me. I wept. I cried the entire day watching one reaction video after another, as well as watching the original video, over and over. Angelina had provided me with HOPE.
🎉🎉🎉Angelina's original was released and produced by Republic Records when she was 14. The music video came out shortly after she turned 15. What's really moving in the music video is that Angelina's sister, Juliette (8), plays the part of a then younger Angelina. Furthermore, the man in the video, who we never see the face of, is Uncle Michael Astar, who was the son of the passed away grandfather. Imagine how meaningful this song became for each of them, as they shared in the performance.
While it was her first original with Republic Records, it was the 4th one she wrote or co-wrote. The first two (Oslo and What Is Life) are on the jazz album "It's Magic", which she recorded at age 11 with an Norwegian military brass band, and which was published when she was 12. At age 12 she also published the song Shield late in the year. In addition, the same year she recorded the song "Song for A" for the otherwise instrumental album by contemporary classic music composer Nico Cartosio. Early in 2020 she was featured on the EDM song Above The Water, by TXRD, which was likely recorded when she was 13.

This is a singer who,when younger covered a series of legendary singers singing legendary songs better than the origionals....and now her own origional songs with,often, deep and poetic lyrics come to the fore. Republic recently built her her own studio at their HQ. She writes,arranges and has a hand in producing her own records and she's still only 17... enjoy.

There are some songs ANgelina sings where she bends and stretches vowels, eliminates consonants, every one a stylistic choice, and its the overall pleasing sound and emotion she portrays that brings me to tears. Some reactors whine about enunciation. To them I say go listen to a speech, this is music, and words put to music the way she does is simply on another level. I would pay to hear Angelina humm for an hour!

I love Angelinas originals but there are several covers which are so different from original. She respects original but makes a new song out of it. 2 examples Bohemian Raphsody - the remaining members of group Queen gave her copyright for her version of that song. The best song to hear the richness of her voice is Suspicious Mind - listen to it and you will hear - the first note in that song filled my ears with pleasure.
Just a quick follow up - as good as this live studio performance is by Angelina at age 14 - she had an even better, more emotional live Norway concert performance of her song last year (at age 16): "Million Miles - NRK TV - Live at Kongsberg 2022". It was released when the pandemic was in the middle of its most frightening stage and it brought a lot of emotion to people who had lost loved ones and to those who had lost someone they were close to. Absolutely phenomenal performance from our barefoot Viking , Angelina wrote Million Miles as a tribute to her grandfather who passed away and for anyone who has ever lost a loved one, the song became relevant during the Pandemic, the pianist in the video is two times Grammy Award winning Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records, he appears in several of Angelina’s songs, Republic Records really appreciate Angelina’s phenomenal talent and they have let Angelina flourish in her own way, Republic Records have given Angelina her very own studio, Angelina has a very close protective family, her Uncle Mike is her manager and Angelina’s Grandma Mery is her greatest inspiration and influence , Mery introduced Angelina to the old classic songs and jazz when Angelina was 1 1/2 years old, and Mery is also today involved with production and can been seen in the studio when Angelina is recording, a very special family Angelina has always been grounded and wrapped in a warm protective blanket , I’ve been following Angelina’s career for many years and have attended three of her live concerts, two in her hometown in Norway 🇳🇴 one when Angelina was 12 years old and the second in the summer 2022 , also a concert in Portsmouth 🇺🇸 this year, Angelina’s stage presence is phenomenal her live vocals stunning, great reaction thanks 🙏
This was her first original single release through Republic Records at age 14 however she had previously released 3 other originals. Oslo and What Is Life released on her first album Its Magic at age 12 although they were recorded when she was 11. Some say she may have written them when she was still 10. She also released Shield at age 12.
She wrote Million Miles after the passing of her maternal grandfather but dedicated it to anyone who has lost a loved one.
To date she has released 12 original songs however when asked recently how many songs she has written she said over 100.
She says that her song ideas and lyrics come from her journals which she has been writing since she was a little girl.

Glad to see you getting into Angelina's talent pool. It is deep! This particular piece was written after she lost her 2nd grandfather. There is another video of her singing Willie Nelson's "You Are Always On My Mind" after her 1st grandfather died.
The only grandfather who died (to our knowledge) was her maternal one. The Elvis cover was something she did days after his death and the emotion was obvious. She spent time writing this and was her first release under the Republic Records label.

The picture on the table between she and Ivan is her maternal grandfather, as is the picture on the wall in the video. If anyone knows anything about Angelina's paternal grandparents, living or dead, I've never seen or heard it shared. They are even more invisible than Dad. There is no question that that both songs were devoted to Mery's husband, AJs maternal grandfather. You better come up with some kind of evidence to the contrary because this is common knowledge in the Angelina community.

Mike so very happy you reacted to your first Angelina original so quickly after saying you wanted to explore her music. I learned of Angelina about 8 months before "Million Miles" debuted in November 2020. I had lost 5 loved ones over a 3+ year period and felt completely lost emotionally. Angelina had been working on my emotions over those 8 months, as I listened to her vast catalog of music every day. At first listen, "Million Miles" broke me. I wept. I cried the entire day watching one reaction video after another, as well as watching the original video, over and over. Angelina had provided me with HOPE.
I love this song for all it's beauty and for the fact that all of us can relate to its incredible message of love, hope and longing.

🎉🎉🎉Angelina's original was released and produced by Republic Records when she was 14. The music video came out shortly after she turned 15. What's really moving in the music video is that Angelina's sister, Juliette (8), plays the part of a then younger Angelina. Furthermore, the man in the video, who we never see the face of, is Uncle Michael Astar, who was the son of the passed away grandfather. Imagine how meaningful this song became for each of them, as they shared in the performance.
While it was her first original with Republic Records, it was the 4th one she wrote or co-wrote. The first two (Oslo and What Is Life) are on the jazz album "It's Magic", which she recorded at age 11 with an Norwegian military brass band, and which was published when she was 12. At age 12 she also published the song Shield late in the year. In addition, the same year she recorded the song "Song for A" for the otherwise instrumental album by contemporary classic music composer Nico Cartosio. Early in 2020 she was featured on the EDM song Above The Water, by TXRD, which was likely recorded when she was 13.

This is a singer who,when younger covered a series of legendary singers singing legendary songs better than the origionals....and now her own origional songs with,often, deep and poetic lyrics come to the fore. Republic recently built her her own studio at their HQ. She writes,arranges and has a hand in producing her own records and she's still only 17... enjoy.
Hey Mike, great reaction. Finally, someone I agree with regarding lyrics. There are some songs ANgelina sings where she bends and stretches vowels, eliminates consonants, every one a stylistic choice, and its the overall pleasing sound and emotion she portrays that brings me to tears. Some reactors whine about enunciation. To them I say go listen to a speech, this is music, and words put to music the way she does is simply on another level. I would pay to hear Angelina humm for an hour!

Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years old - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age-appropriate at that time.
This is her first original with republics but not her first original, she had already written 3 by this point Oslo (my favorite) what is life and shield. Her first one Oslo she wrote at 11 from what I remember.
She may be based in LA but Norway isn’t giving her up, she is still their National Treasure!

That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? I love Angelinas originals but there are several covers which are so different from original. She respects original but makes a new song out of it. 2 examples Bohemian Raphsody - the remaining members of group Queen gave her copyright for her version of that song. The best song to hear the richness of her voice is Suspicious Mind - listen to it and you will hear - the first note in that song filled my ears with pleasure.
Just a quick follow up - as good as this live studio performance is by Angelina at age 14 - she had an even better, more emotional live Norway concert performance of her song last year (at age 16): "Million Miles - NRK TV - Live at Kongsberg 2022". Mr,.Mike, I gotta be honest I just found you on Angelina’s cover of I Put a Spell on You and I’ve been coming back hoping to see more reactions every couple of days so thank you for the video sir but I’m pleading with you not to overlook her performances from when she was younger just because she just released her debut album and it’s fantastic but if you go back from here then I think you have something to build towards. Plus her younger performances are unbelievable sir.
