    I preordered the X100VI.
    IBIS is long overdue. The GRiii had it three years ago and that is a much smaller body. There are a lot of features in the VI. Nice to have them. I am a photographer and won’t take advantage of video very much. 40MP is nice to have. I don’t Crop very much so 26MP is OK.
    Other than IBIS I’d be happy with the X100V. I wasn Paying a premium for a used camera. The VI will be more availaBle so I’m getting it for less than the inflated V price.

    Probably Fuji has a strategic choice to make between a new battery or an ibis without messing up with the size of the X100 size and weight. They chose ibis. Can't have everything

    • @btonelli
      @btonelli  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True. Some compromises were made to keep the body the same size, but the next question would be could they make a higher capacity battery that’s the same size?

    I would love to see that exceptional piece of photographic art that could only be achieved with the help of IBIS. It has to be the most amazing photograph ever seen by any human being if it justifies permanently and irreversibly crippling a photography tool with a feature that sacrifices image quality for convenience while barely having any use case. Imagine the burden an artist would have to take on if he would have to actually put any effort into his creation process by using a proper technique or utilizing an appropriate accessory if stability is cruicial for the outcome...

    • @TomWangArt
      @TomWangArt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@btonelli It's a serious question. How good are those pictures actually to make people believe they can't live without them anymore? Do they justify at all forcing manufacturers to not only completely and permanently give up the single most reliable concept of stabilization that IBIS will never be able to replace anyway no matter what, but also doing it a the cost of sensor performance (and many other factors as well)? So far I haven't noticed a sigle photograph that would prove the necessity of IBIS, apart from promoting lazyness. It seems like people are more concerned about impressive spec sheets than they are about the quality of their photography.

    • @btonelli
      @btonelli  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      IBIS isn’t going to make one a better photographer, it’s a tool to help get photos where someone might struggle due to slower shutter speeds, low light etc. people survived without it for years but like all technology it’s there to help if and when you need it. Won’t replace composition, lighting etc

    • @TomWangArt
      @TomWangArt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @li Sure, but the question is, are you willing to permanently sacrifice image quality and user experience forever only to support the rare use case of getting a slightly better snapshot...? In a dedicated photography tool...? Aren't phones already made to be "good enough" for this purpose? I don't want (all of) my photography tools to try to match the user experience of a phone, I expect it to deliver the best quality and user experience possible while I will take any effort it takes to get the best result.
