This was a wonderful find to come across! I could never tire of listening to Joan talk about her career, friends, experiences, family, etc…. Even after almost eight years since her death, it’s still so weird to realize that she’s gone.
I watch the older comics like Don Rickles and Tom Synder (whose laughter was infectious) plus others. The younger ones haven't a clue about what is funny or how to make people laugh. I like Billy Connolly also. But I'm older, maybe that's the difference.
Miss her a lot. Joan has been a source of laughter and entertainment for me for the past 50 years. Thanks to these clips on TH-cam I can have her humor for many more. ....and by the way, the funniest woman who ever lived is a most deserved epitaph.
I’ve never seen anyone so honest in both her comedy as well as her interviews. She gave the interviewer so much respect. She may have been asked the same questions by other people a hundred times over, but she’d answer it like it was the first time she’d been asked. She’s always said that being honest works. She knew her stuff, and was so right. I sure miss her.
Absolutely the best interview I have seen with the incredible, legendary Joan Rivers. Just wow. Allan Neuwirth is a stellar interviewer. There will never be anyone like Joan Rivers because she is the original and the best of the best. How right she is that she could take on anyone with one hand tied behind her bak because no one could ever be better. Her wish come true because she is certainly remembered as the funniest woman who ever lived....but she is so much more than that. RIP, great lady.
This is so true. She helped me in so many ways mentally. For most of my adult life, I struggled with body image issues which also included an eating disorder. I can honestly say I gained a lot of insight and inspiration from her, which ultimately helped me to progress in a more positive direction and overcome some of the obstacles I struggled with. She is someone that I will always hold near and dear to my heart.
I miss her so much. I don’t genuinely accept her death. I just go searching for her videos from time to time and tell myself she’s retired now. She would never have allowed herself to retire anyhow.
Well, she truly achieved her goal. She simply is the funniest woman that ever lived. She understood the cadence of a story, when to breath, how to pause for the right number of milliseconds between syllables. She could read the alphabet or the phone book and it would be funny. And no one, no one worked harder at her craft, constantly, for over 50 years.
Very interesting interview that makes me appreciate her even more. So touching starting at 53:50 where she gets emotional about the way they fired her from Fox.
Ive only discovered her in the last 20 years as Im an immigrant but she has to be one of the funniest comedians I have come across, even her old stuff is just brilliant.
I teared up at the ending because Joan got her wish! She saved my life on many occasions the last twenty odd years just by watching her work! I and millions of others dearly miss her!
I miss her so much .. she always made me laugh .. I love her “honesty” I loved watching fashion police .. that show was one of the best shows ever .. I hope she is happy in heaven & I hope Melissa is happy & doing great 👍.. she loved her so much ..
There will never be another Joan.I admire her how she called people a C*** to their face when they deserved it.She had class and style and a bigger pair of balls than most men.A true survivor and knew her craft 100%.
She was extremely smart and stuck to her guns. I saw Joan Rivers at the MGM grand years ago and she was the opening act for Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy. Joan was the star, not the stars
06:35 - When Joan says her 'trunk'? went....(so she was unable 2 take up her place @ that Drama School...what does she mean? (Does she mean her🧳 literally got lost? Or is that a US expression 4 saying she lost her confidence 🤔?) Thnx in advance 🙏🏼
No, I think she is just referring to the fact that she was so prepared to go to the school that she sent her trunk(s) and it(they) made it to the school but she did not. (Most people would send their trunks, which were much larger than suitcases, beforehand so it arrived before they did). We do not have any expression about trunks at all that I am aware of BTW.
Nervous breakdowns and suicide over these fights in Entertainment/Hollywood happen more often than you may think! Happened to older friends of mine as well! P.S. the public eats it up when celebrities get "leveled" because they're not "real."
Without the GD words and being mean she can be very funny. She's beautiful. I had a Barbie that looked like her when I was a kid. She had a ballerina outfit on 😆
Joan his written that Alan Funt sat nude in his office, or had his robe open when Joan was there so she was forced to see his package. Clear sexual harassment but back at that time no one, unfortunately, could make an issue of it.
It’s soooo ironic that Joan passed away from plastic surgery, when she herself stated that plastic surgery jokes are soooo hilarious. I wonder what kind of joke she’d make about her own death?
Can you name me a Dutch comedian worth checking out? Preferably one like Joan with a 50 year career and an international reputation. Thanks! (I'm not being sarcastic btw... I'm genuinely curious!)
Please hilarious! Has it happened to you and cuts too deep? Get over yourself! Joan Rivers husband committed suicide! She had a strained relationship with her , etc.husband! No one cares and she’s smart enough to realize that!aAlso she lives for comedy. She doesn’t really mean if! It’s her Schlick! Her act! Her $. Let the pain go for you ! Get a lover, steal someone else’s husband, take a gorgeous young French or Italian stud and get some strange! Enough said! Move on!!!

She was such a force. Raw, honest, no nonsense and a genius. Rare qualities these days. So missed
I love listening to Joan. You know you're going to get genuine answers.
Very true
She patient, kind, a wonderful listener, smart, great memory, what a lady, miss her always, RIP Joan!

sadly only good people on our side died

I miss her so much. I don’t genuinely accept her death. I just go searching for her videos from time to time and tell myself she’s retired now. She would never have allowed herself to retire anyhow.
I will always love Joan Rivers!!!
Amazing, the best interview of Joan's I've seen

Woah. Listening to this after finishing The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel I realise just how much was inspired from Joan’s actual life… amazing.
Very interesting interview that makes me appreciate her even more. So touching starting at 53:50 where she gets emotional about the way they fired her from Fox.

I bloody agree what a classy lady so down to earth she will be missed

She was and is tremendous!
I miss Joan River so much. The world truly is not the same without her.

Wow. Joan is a fighter. She never gave up. Strength.
I adore Joan!
Showbiz slung everything at her possible & she still triumphed.
Loved her and still do! ❤❤
I forgot how much I miss this woman
Wonderful interview- thank you for sharing this.
She was extremely smart and stuck to her guns. I saw Joan Rivers at the MGM grand years ago and she was the opening act for Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy. Joan was the star, not the stars

UGH, I miss Joan's work.
We need a movie about her life
Thank you.
Best interview she did and natural interviewer.
A true legend. Simply the best.
Joan admitted in her book “STILL TALKING “ the news was leaked to the media before Joan could contact Johnny about her contract with Fox.
Miss you sooo much Joan. RIP
Around 5:00, she says she was an English Literature and Anthropology major, but I would swear elsewhere she said she was a Philosophy major?
Superb interview!!
I knew she had an interest in Anthropology! I saw her with a Spade at Forest Lawn!
Grow Up She would have laughed
Who is the "talk show lady" she is referencing at 1:24:13?
I miss her so much.
Permanently Fabulous

Funny funny lady. She died for nothing it was not necessary
Now mass murder is being censored and deviates are the stars
What is a ‘deviate?’ Do you mean opiate? U dumm fuh
@@Jiorgiapeach departing from usual or accepted standards; deviant.
"their deviate behavior"
Joan Rivers was comedy royalty.....the guy interviewing, not so much
It’s soooo ironic that Joan passed away from plastic surgery, when she herself stated that plastic surgery jokes are soooo hilarious. I wonder what kind of joke she’d make about her own death?
American censorship

This guy is a boring interviewer.
