    Thank you so much for taking the time to make an HD version and going through all of the details as you did. I have been trying to figure out how to install the HD kit but didn't know where to begin.

    Guys, I installed on a Hobie Compass Duo, it is 13.5 ft long and access difficult. Just insert a stiff string (small diameter) into the holes, putting a generous amount inside the yak, then use a vacuum hose to suck up the strings, then follow the video after you have the strings in hand. Was very easy. Color one string with magic marker to keep the hole positions on the backing plate in the proper alignment.

    Just installed my Yakattack HD on my Lifetime Pro Angler 11’6” today !
    Thank you for the tips! I put one end of the kayak on a saw horse and lifted same end as needed to get the cord to drop to the front end with the hatch access. The hatch on the forward end of the boat is the only access point.

      @@TheMyrmidonSoldier I did, however I helped it along by tilting the ‘feeding end’ of the kayak onto a saw horse. The line then fed nicely to the opposite end of kayak.

    Has anyone ever experienced the standard anchor trolley installed with screws tear out or is this just overkill?

  • @chrisjpainter
    @chrisjpainter 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    you need an obliging ferret to run inside, pull the cord and then run back to the hatch. neat set up though - despite the lack of ferret

    Would using two different color bungee cords make things easier to determine which bungee relates to which hole?

    • @YakAttackKayakFishing
      @YakAttackKayakFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is a solid idea and would be a sure fire way to determine which bungee is which. Thanks for the suggestion.

    The Big Fish 105 does not have access hatches. I guess that means only the standard kit willl work.

      The standard kit is our #1 seller and fits the needs of the vast majority of kayaks anglers.

  • @adamney163

    The kayak I am installing the kit on has a thin and curved side gunnel and the angle change above and below the chine is large. Because the LeverLoc base is flat and is only fastened to the boat at two points on the top, on a curved surface it does not contour and the gap for stowing the ring becomes too large and ineffective. Is there anything that I can do about this, for example, installing the LeverLoc base below the chine where the hull is more vertical? I am not sure how this will affect the performance of the trolley, as you say in Episode 3 (the standard kit) to install the base above the chine.

    What a minute ...why do I need backing plate ? I thought I ordered the standard version. Is it necessary ? I have no access to inside of the kayak as I have a perception outlaw sit on top . Should I order standard kit instead? Is there a possibility of damage to kayak if backing plate is not used ?

    • @YakAttackKayakFishing
      @YakAttackKayakFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The vast majority of customers use the standard kit. The HD kit with the backing plates is for those who tend to anchor in rougher water, current, or wind.

  • @paullittle813

    DON'T take the nuts out of the backing plate. You will rue the day. Inevitably a nut will fall out when you try to make your final connection, and guess what? You get to start all over again. Carefully mark the holes. Double check. Then drill.

    • @eduardoflores1603
      @eduardoflores1603 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      should only take it off on one of the backing plates and use that to make the holes.. Then once they are in use the one you took off the back nuts on the one you can have easy access to.. sorry if I confused the crap out of people but this worked for me.

      The standard kit outsells the HD by a long shot. The HD is designed for those in the toughest conditions and the standard kit works for 95% of anglers.

    Are the screws to fill the holes smaller ? Or should there be 9 screws the same size in a kit ?

      The third screws for the pulleys and LeverLoc, use only if you need to use a Rigging Bullet for the install, are shorter in length than the other two screws.

      +BGyakinKansas We only installed 2 PadHooks on this boat. The line sat well with only two, but we might go back after some time on the water and add the two extra PadHooks.

    I might have missed it but do I need backing plates on the line guides? Also, any suggestions for doing this install on an outback would be really appreciated. BTW YakAttack customer service is on point! Means a lot!

    • @YakAttackKayakFishing
      @YakAttackKayakFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The backing plates are intended for the two pulleys and the LeverLoc base. Most of the pressure applied while anchored is directed to the two pulleys. Have you purchased the LeverLoc HD Anchor Trolley already and what type of water do you fish? Also, thank you for the kind words. The kayak fishing community and our customers are the most important thing to us so we will do what it takes to make sure their needs are met.

    How can I install this hd kit into a lure 13.5. It didn't have any hatches in the rear at all. Can't see a way to get a backing plate all the way to the rear.
    Edit: actually I think I figured out one way. I'll stand it up on its nose and let gravity feed the cords to me lol

      @YakAttackKayakFishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For future installs on kayaks that have limited access check out this video that talks about the YakAttack Rigging Bullet. One trick that isn't shown in this video is the use of a magnet and how you can use it to drag the Rigging Bullet to the hatch opening instead of relying on gravity: th-cam.com/video/6EnHBEEQHYs/w-d-xo.html
