- This video shows you how I tie the knots on my Anchor Trolley system to attach the anchor trolley cord onto the karabiner (or ring) of the trolley system. I also run through how to set up the anchor trolley system on a kayak using the knot.

Your tying method is without 2 rings and 2 buffer beads. Can you show how to tie knots to rings and beads? Also, your bow bead (attached to bungee cord) is larger than the orhers? If so, what size (small hole) is it? Thanks again!
The same knot can be used to tie the cord to the rings. The bead used on the bow has an approx 8mm hole for the bungee cord to pass through. It is a squeeze to get doubled up 5mm or 6mm through, but it is possible by first passing a piece of fishing line through the hole, tying this to the bungee and pulling it back through. Hopefully that makes sense!

Similar to some fishing fishing knots I use like the uni and Albright except with less wraps. This knot works perfect with paracord, thank you! ❤️🛶for sharing.

I am struggling to find some parrel beads can I ask were you get yours from please ?
If you are in the UK then they can be found on the Cornwall Canoes website. If elsewhere then try a marine store or sometimes camping/outdoors stores sell them.
I might do this for the season and then figure out a retractable to screw to my crate for next season. This seems pretty simple and quick.

Anchor trolly
That’s the knot I use and melt the ends. But I use a small zip tie to hold the stub tight and neat. Cheers
only thing I would change is change the last slip knot the karabiner hooks into, change it to a conventional Loop Knot so that if you ever need to Emergency disconnect the Karabiner does not get Hung up trying to pass through the slip

that knot is call a fisher mens knot we use it in search and rescue and that was only 2 raps we do 4 makes a good strong knot!

Im in the process of doing a no drill Anchor Trolley myself. Im going to use the Scaffold knots but Im going to use a small stainless turn buckle up the front so I can adjust the tension at all times on the line.

I use an Overhand Loop Knot for the bungee loop

Thank you for the presentation. Do you thing it’s useful to install the anchor trolley both sides : port side and starboard side?
Usually you would just install on one side of the kayak, but some like to have it on both sides. I don’t see the need personally although some people like to deploy a small drogue off the bow whilst at anchor to help them sit straight in the tide, particularly if it’s windy. In this instance the drogue could be deployed on one anchor trolley and the anchor set with the other.

Why only one bungee instead of 2?
Ok I see that someone else asked this, so now I wonder would there be any advantage to having 2 bungees? Actually what exactly is the advantage of having a bungee in the first place?
The bungee serves to add a buffer / shock absorber within the system. If it’s choppy on the water then the kayaks will be jolting about a bit and the bungee helps to reduce the jolting motion from disturbing the anchor and makes for a slightly more comfortable feel whilst at anchor. You can see it working when anchored up and it’s windy/choppy as the bungee visually stretches and relaxes. The reason for only having one bungee at the front is so that I can get the point of anchoring closer to the stern. You can put a small section at the stern too if you want, it won’t make a huge difference but I run with just bungee at the bow and it seems to all work great. The bungee also works to keep the anchor trolley line taut against the kayak so that it is not slack and loose. I have been using the set up on my fishing kayaks since 2013 😀 hope this info helps. @@CornishKayakAngler Hi, i checked the cord routing from the pulleys that are 6-8 inches from the bow and stern and notice the upper and lower cords pop up over the kayak's top rail. I placed the pulleys about 1-1/2 inches under the top rail so when applying tension to the cord with a piece of bungee as you suggested, the cord rides up and jumps over the rail. I wanted to keep it high above the waterline. Would you suggest pad eyes to route the upper cord and removing the tension so the lower cord would drape down or is there another type of hardware that would work better or only having one fastener that's a better choice? Thanks for the help.

what is the issue if you use a bungee at both ends of the trolley system?
There’s not a massive issue but I like the karabiner to be able to shuttle as far back as possible. Using a another karabiner to clip the pulley to the pad eye at the back allows it to get nice and close to the stern. The same can be achieved with a really short section of bungee to tie the pulley to the pad eye. I often see people with a foot of bungee at the back and that’s just not the most effective way to do it. Hope this helps!

The audio on all your videos are too quiet.
Some users report it being quiet and others say it’s fine. I’m not sure if it’s TH-cam or the device it’s being listened on. It seems to only be on 4 or 5 videos from last year and the rest seem fine. Tried to contact TH-cam to see if there was a fix but not without deleting the video and starting again. The fix is turn the volume up 🤣
I have loved that knot ever since I accidentally discovered it a few years ago, I have a few of them in use to important stuff I have less in my pockets such as keys, phone . Holds much better on slippery cord such as nylon paracord than a lot of knots I tried, even with just one loop for short term non- critical uses. It is a bit harder to untie than many knots. Great tip of welding the end onto the cord, thanks. Love your anchor trolley system, especially with the added rings from your other video.
