Debo 06/20/2019 I have been fishing hollow body frogs too. But I put a twist on this deal. I am using a tiny frog made in China I found on E-Bay for $.98 each they only weigh five-grams (3/16th of an ounce). I cast them on a seven-foot BFS reel and rod using six-pound braid. I caught a two-pound Largemouth and two whopper-size Crappie Bass on them from my boat. You have made me into a Dink hunter. Bluegills hit this tiny frog and it flies a foot in the air. It cracks me up fishing this frog. Fishing with a baitcaster and six-pound braid is one test of patients few anglers will enjoy. You can buy a Chinese rod and reel way under $100-dollars and begin your test in madness. You can carry hundreds of tiny lures in a teeny-tiny tackle bag. I tried it out fishing for trout and discovered another great fishing challenge. I practice casting every day at red paint dots on the street in front of my house. If you don’t practice, you will find hitting the water is even hard. However, casting an ⅛oz. jig a hundred feet is amazing using a baitcasting reel. I triple dog dare you try to one.

There more styles of fishing to enjoy than Largemouth bass. How many bass set ups do you really need? The spinning rods you use for bass are just telephone poles with guides. Learn to use ultralight tackle will enlighten you to another World of fishing. It also will make you better at using the tackle you already have. I caught lots of seven-pound Steel Head on 4-pound line and that is a serious learning experience. Fishing 2-pound line for trout landing trout close to 4-pounds is another serious rush. If trout streams are hard to reach, fish rivers and creeks for smallmouth. Fishing the same places you do now with ultralight tackle will make a totally new place to fish. I use the Strike King Frog myself. I modify the bait by adding a Twin Trailer Hook & a piece of Plastic Surgical or Gas Engine (Lawn mower) Hose. Then you can fish it over moss mats. The Bass below really blow up through the moss to engulf the lure. Summer Morning & Mid Day action. Good fishing action for all of you.

I caught the biggest bass I've caught in quite a few years last week with a Lunkerhunt popper frog. I was like a kid at Christmas. I love Topwater in general just to see the strike.
Glad to see you were finally able to get some frog fish buddy. I went Saturday morning and caught a lot of bass out of my kayak. Caught one over 4 lbs on the berkley choppo. It was in clear water and she ate it like 6 ft from the yak. It was pretty cool. 👊👍

DEBO'S Fishing And the hookup ratio goes up dramatically , no mods needed with the super soft body yet really durable, i still use one i got around 50 LMB on with little wear on it , over some time the eyes will fall off but I found it to make no difference in strikes at all.
As i learned yesterday, just suggesting this from BamaBass, he suggests waiting after a first swipe strike for a follow up GULP attack by the fish.Then set hook. But after the first swipe, wind down on slack and prepare to set like a maniac at a 3oclcock angle. If that makes sense. Just watch his recent frog vidoe. I have missed so many top water fish probably because i didnt do this.

Have to wait about 2 seconds to set the hook after they blow up on a frog or you yank it out of their mouth. Its hard to be patient. I fish senkos 98% of the time so its hard to be patient on the hook set when i switch to frogs

Only bad part of frog fishing is the terrible hook up ratio and that they need to be big enough to hit the frog. So it’s skunk city if your me.
Try a smaller frog. The little pad crasher has worked well when they keep missing it for me!

Yeah, I tried it but wasn't a fan. 50 is as low as I'll recommend going. Not a big difference so I'll take the stronger line just in case!
