I cannot love this comment enough! We try to show the good side and the bad. Cockatoos are my absolute favorite bird but they are also the most needy pet you could ever have! Ozzie is a 24/7 job and I wouldn't trade it for anything but when people say they want one I tell them DO NOT get one! We researched umbrella cockatoos for a year before rescuing Ozzie and it was not enough, I don't think you could ever research enough the amount of patience you need to live with one of these beautiful birds. Parrots in general are meant to be in the wild but breeders continue to breed these precious birds and make tons of money. People watch these silly videos and think they want a parrot until they get home and they are a 2 year old toddler with a beak that screams at any given instance. Of course breeders will not tell you anything you need to know about these beautiful creatures other than the positive. If you do ever choose a parrot please adopt!!! Adoption/Rescues will walk you through the process and explain so many things that you need to know about your parrot. We literally had to change our whole house and the way we lived for Ozzie to thrive in our home!
      Adopt don't Shop!!!

@@ozziethecockatoo5902 I had a cockatoo when I was a child, and sadly she was an example of why you shouldn't get a bird just because you like it. My family never took care of her and she eventually couldn't handle the lonliness and neglect. I tried but a 5 year old is a terrible bird parent.
Someday I would like a bird again, but I likely won't go larger than a Cockatiel.
