Some areas , both urban and suburban that you might add to your list are: the EADO district, Rice Military, West University, the Museum district , Upper Kirby/ River Oaks CHELSEA( these are all great inner city neighborhoods to Live in). More suburban areas to consider: Pearland, Cypress, League City, Conroe, Kingwood, Spring, Meyerland, West University, Cinco Ranch, Friendswood, Clearlake, Memorial City, Missouri City, Bellaire , Energy Corridor and Generation Park
@@0Jsays Kingwood, Atascocita, Spring, and The Woodlands are part of the Houston metropolitan area and near Humble. If that’s what you meant. I moved around an hour away from Houston. The city is going to $h!t.
Omg thank you for this video. All the other videos say they’re gonna tell you about living in Houston but they only give you information about the suburbs. I almost bought in the bad area because the real estate agent said nothing to me. I’m from the ghetto too but I know the ghetto in my city. I don’t know the ghetto in Houston.
I am from Katy! This video is awesome as a young couple, we are trying to find a new neighborhood to live in, separate from our families but still close to home haha.
I live in Houston for all my life, but I like to listen to an outsiders perspective on things! I plan to move out soon, but have no idea where I should go...this helped me get a fresh view as I'm probably used to a lot of things here, and your summary of the environment of each neighborhood is really accurate. I was thinking Montrose, Midtown, Memorial, River Oaks or Woodlands. An "upgrade" from Northside. Though they are starting to build townhomes, so I hope the vibe is much nicer when I inherit my family home with my brother!
I lived in Houston for three years 2014-17 and I loved living in the Museum District. 10 mins walk to hospital for work. There was Barnaby’s and Bodega’s both very short walk away as well as Hermann Park. If you didn’t walk to drive downtown short walk to light rail plus a Walgreens and Family Dollar very close. Great neighborhood plus we didn’t get no flooding during Harvey.
I want to piggy back on HOA in Houston Heights. In Houston, HOA is great. What many don’t know if you’re not in a HOA your neighbor can be a business park despite the anomaly and land use regulations. Houston does NOT have zoning laws which is a big problem. I ended up selling my home in West University Place in Houston due to this. That area was perfect for me as I work at the hospital. I now purchased a home in The Woodlands and work at hospitals around this area and life is so much better in terms of what can be built here and where.
Omg this was really really helpful the best video I’ve watched out of the 100 videos 😩👏🏾I’m 21 I’ll be 22 in January planning to move in March. Moving from Savannah, Georgia
Don’t forget Downtown Chicago! 2:59 NYC and Chicago has the best downtowns in America 🇺🇸. Great video!!! I’m thinking about relocating to Houston from Chicago.
Great video I stay in Raleigh/Durham NC, I’m moving to Houston next March me and my girlfriend, we was thinking downtown because we want to be in the mix and don’t want to have to drive far to do do anything
I came across you on top best cities to live and you on the Houston list it’s so much stuff I ain’t seen , I went to the Galleria mall and was like.. who finna walk this … I’ll never leave here this home now
I ain’t gon lie, I went to the galleria mall and was like hell nah, this on some usain bolt, I’m stretching and like I ain’t gone make it I settle for the bronze , I ain’t getting no gold walking this mall..lol st . Lou ain’t got no mall mere this, first thing let me remember where I parked and stop in a few places like y’all serve Gatorade I need some electrolytes to git back to my car
Wow you like the Houston ambassador, you did a great job and I used to live North Dallas. White wonderland up there almost near Oklahoma. Would love to get into Houston and check it out and you're right everything in Texas is so huge. You could be in the car for hours and still haven't seen all of your new Homeland. Thank you for being warm welcoming and totally transparent and I agree with you it's fun to go into some of the areas and find the mom and pop restaurant. Happy 2022
Nice description of places to live. Only thing I’d add is that for medical ppl you probably meant the medical center for a good place to stay..and also river oaks/upper Kirby and galleria areas are good areas as well
Can't wait to come I'm moving to Houston soon💕 I want to be around loads of black Americans can you do a video on where most black people reside in Houston pls
Girl 🤣 the hood and ghetto is within me too but I'm a professional so I moved to Spring off 45 . So far so good since March 2021. No luxury apartments just a decent low key area.
i've never been to texas, but the price is what is attracting me. I am a young black women, so living in the south is kinda iffy for me. So where should i go that has our people but more professional of our people
Thanks for all your advice and tips. I've been wanting to move for years, I'm definitely planning on visiting Texas as well as a few other warm states to consider moving to within the next year.
I agree 100%! BeforeI moved here I apartment shopped using a flood map. Very handy girl. You can just google “Houston flood map” and avoid all areas that flood 💜
this video was so helpful for me im 25 and ready for a change im currently an CNA going to school for MA in Minnesota with a 4 year old and 14 year old brother i really think memorial city will be best for us but i do like the hoods also lol they have the best foods lbs
Great info my dear. I’ve been there so much times and I’m always procrastinating to move. Hopefully soon, I love the outside of Houston more like Richmond, and sugar land. But thanks for the details🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👍🏾
Spring Texas is definitely nice! It’s actually next to the Woodlands, schools are spaced out. I like it. Cypress is great too depending on your taste. Good median area. And in Katy is see a great mix of diversity. I shop in that area often and it’s always different races/nationalities at the grocery store. HEB is my fav 😊
As a houstonian who lives near Tidwell but has been everywhere BUT Sunnyside or rarely eastside at all....Tidwell isn't that bad, but its mainly a nighttime thing. People be shooting guns at night and everything, others drag racing down the street and revving their cars and motorcycles. And Crosstimbers near Northside freeway is PACKED with homeless and shady people. Lots of garbage throw around. But I've heard about Sunnyside and everyone warns one another about it, like don't stop driving and/or make sure you bring a gun. Tidwell isn't bad per say, just mind your own business. Just a lot of loud cars/motorcycles and guns going off. Especially on the other side of Hardy Toll Road. It's mainly a Mexican neighborhood, and have the best taco trucks and we have Raspas down the street! (Snow cones). Theirs lots of car dealers and mechanics along with feeder shops and catholic churches. But if families plan to move there, I suggest you find somewhere else to put your child if your zoned to Sam Houston...my brother went there and it's bad from what he said, I went to a different school and when I mentioned it everyone call it ghetto. But I say Tidwell isn't that bad, but there's definitely better places, just get used to the gunshots and the occasional street races 🤷♀️
