for anyone viewing this video around this time with blender 3.3 or up u may not have a mix rgb but instead a mix color node u can also just hold ctrl and shit then right click and drag to get that node top pop up 2:42
Yes, I made a video specifically about the Mix Node: th-cam.com/video/i4GAHxtDAsk/w-d-xo.html In the new Blender update of 3.4, they changed the Mix RGB node, to just the Mix Node. So just add the mix node, and change the Float option, to Color. Then you can use it just like the mix RGB node.
Thanks, now I can finish my mountain scene with some nice procedural textures. By the way, I screwed up some random guy's water tutorial so bad that I made procedural ice.
@@RyanKingArt Jo that's what I meant too. Well, that with my English is such a thing. Maybe I am too old. But I have times to this topic a question. How can I save the material then? And where do I save it then. As .blend or what? So that I can use it every time, and not every time must make new. I have already made some materials. From you and from others on TH-cam. When I need them I always make it again.
So the scene that I'm using this on has LOTS of grass, this snow texture, dirt and grass texture, hundreds of trees, and an overwhelmingly high amount of geometry. My computer is so gonna die when rendering this 🤣. Thanks for the tutorial!
hello, thank you for this video it really helped!! i wanted to ask how I can export this texture into Unreal Engine? are there more steps or is there any way?
In order to use a procedural material in a game engine or another 3d software, you will need to bake the material out to texture maps. Check out my tutorial on how to do that here: th-cam.com/video/B2kFeMBBBjc/w-d-xo.html
@@RyanKingArt hello so I watched your video, but I wanted to export the texture to apply it to unreal engine, not export the object, so I watched your other video (Bake provedural Materials to Tileable texture maps) and my problem is that when I apply my texture it's not tiled? like at the beginning of that video your texture immediately takes over the whole plane, while for me my snow texture applies very weirdly in the shapes of the UV's. any idea how to fix that? Sorry for commenting on such an old video btw and thanks for your help!
@@RyanKingArt I love it. XD Think you could try your hands at making a pearlescent procedural material tutorial? Also, I’ve kind of been wondering about your PC specs. Wouldn’t be surprised if you had a 3090 or a couple 1080 Tis as a render farm. I’m on a 3060, and I plan to get it switched out to something more powerful once Nvidia wisens up.

I love finding a good teacher - excellent, to the point, well explained - bravo
thanks!
Awesome intro haha!! Coming in with the snow gear. Love the video!!!!
Lol, thank you!
I love your tutorials all! big hug, and have a nice weekend!
Thanks! You have a good weekend too!
The intro is very funny, you shall probably do this in ur future video
Haha thanks. yeah this was one of my first procedural material videos, and I was playing around with video styles. Trying out some funny intros. 😄
Getting PRO, man !
Effing perfect tutorial ;)
Thanks
You rock, man!
Thanks!
Thanks for the video Ryan. How do you split the material node window and viewport vertically like that?
Great tutorial
Thank you!
Looks great.

thank you so much Ryan😊
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Thank you! There are ways to generate snow on logical parts, using a geometry (set for normal) node ;)
Cool! And thanks for watching!
I used this scissors texture today for my Christmas scene.
Looks really cool.
Thanks a lot for that.
Cool, thanks! Although, this is not scissors. ✂️ Its a Snow material. : )

Just saw here on YoTube how I can save this.
With the Material Library Addon.
Very simple. I did not know until today.
@@mexlemax3307 If you want to use it in other Blender projects, you can append the material into new projects.
@@mexlemax3307 Or yes, you can also use a Material Library Addon.

thank you sir awesome resolution

Thanks so much. I appreciate your comment : )
Thank you!! Super helpful!

Thank you for this, I'm gonna use this on a snowman model I made.
Hello Eonik Animations. Thanks for watching my tutorial! I heard about your quick subscriber growth from the shoutout from corridor. Congrats! 🙂
@@RyanKingArt Thank you.
Great many thanks - followed it and now have a snow material. It looks great.

Cheers man, my old PC is struggling trying to use the real snow addon and I needed a realistic alternate.
Hope the video helps!

Any advice for making it sparkle green/red like the sun is shining on it?
You could add a colored light, and point it sideways on the material. Also you could turn the roughness down, so that is more reflective.
Please make videos on the basics of shading
It will be very helpful sir
i have some procedural nodes for beginners tutorials. check out this video I made: th-cam.com/video/J5t7gzIfTt0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SAkwcuL5335GrE3O

Welcome! Thanks for watching.
after adding this snow material to the penguin tutorial project huge frame drops occurs. Do you know why?
its because Blender Eevee is pretty laggy with procedural materials.
@@RyanKingArt is there any fix?
Brilliant tutorial, sadly couldn't get past the third Bump Node before crashing
i like this thank's brother

Make sure to use the Distance value on the texture, not the color value.

Where the HECK did the MixRGB node go in 3.4.1 ?? 😱 UPDATE: I think it's now the "Mix Color" node

very easy tutorial thank you. just recommend you go a little slower
