I bought the pass that was supposed to pay for all future fallout 4 DLCs, so I wasn't a fan of the creation club. The backpack is the one thing I purchased for un-modded play-throughs.
One point you missed about the Sentinel control system is your AI power armor acts as a second companion, so once you have it, you can have two companions following you at once.
The sentinel AI also doesn’t count as a “companion,” so you can use it with another companion or alone and it doesn’t count against your lone wanderer. It’s also possible to get it pretty early on in survival mode if you’re willing to cheese the fights with a sniper rifle, and it’s VERY helpful for it.
For me the best part about the Neon Flats is that there’s a secret room where you can get elder maxsons outfit but it’s all black. It’s the only outfit I’ve used since I found that out lol
For survival players on console, I would say the sentinel power armour and backpack make it a different game entirely. Where combat is still enjoyable, but your settlements don’t suffer from your carry weight limitations. For me, 85 carry weight doesn’t cut it for my play style, as I spend a good chunk of time building and chilling in settlements
Just a little FYI, the 10mm Pistol in the Tunnel Snakes Rule CC mod is actually the one from Fallout 1 and 2, weirdly enough. It;s the Colt 6520, while the one in Fallout 3 is the N99
The Sentinal Armor doesn’t count as a follower, meaning it’s a free Tank. It consumes ammo (unlike actual follower) but it seems to use the SuperMutant melee combat rules. I’ve seen it pick ghouls and raiders up by the throat while dog meat gnawed and I enjoyed my Lone Wanderer perk bonuses. Give it Big Jim, the Alien Probe, or a sledge hammer; kit it out with armor spikes/tesla coil power frame pieces and watch it work.
The Settlement Ambush CC is amazing for one simple reason in vanilla runs: snappable walls. Being able to build a 12ft wall around my settlement w/o mods or cheats is fucking aces.
Best Creation Club stuff (my list): 1. Captain Cosmos is almost worth it just for the unique gun that yeets enemies, and the power armor, suit, and quest are great 2. Coffee and Donuts lets you build your own Dunkin Donuts (Slocum’s Joe) at your settlements, there are loads of new consumables you can make in your donut shop that give a variety of buffs 3. Arcade Pack - I’m an 80’s/90’s kid, arcades rule 4. Settlement Ambush is worth it as a Survival player because the surveillance cameras enable you to defend settlements under attack remotely so you don’t have to drop everything and haul ass across the Commonwealth if you’re the General of the MM 5. Neon Flats, Shroud Manor, Charlestown Cottage, Nuka-Cola Workshop, etc, they all have nice advantages as player homes or safe houses, especially if you’re a Survival player 6. X-O2 Black Devil gives you a quest where you fight Enclave remnants and get the best power armor suit in the game 7. Sentinel Power Armor - doesn’t count as a companion, never needs repair, great pack mule, and you get a LOT of PA pieces 8. Capital Wasteland - member berries 9. Tesla Cannon - the one from Steel Dawn FO3 DLC. It rules.
