Top 5 for vocals for me:
    1) Pro-Q3
    2) Waves CLA-76 (bluey)
    3) Pro-DS (wideband mode only and 11dB range for vocals)
    4) Saturn 2 (default setting is my favourite)
    5) Soothe 2
Very generic ones but they work the best for me. Tried many different plugins (uad, softube etc.) and for vocals nothing beats them for me. Uad is too raw sounding, kinda dirty, softube doesn't control the dynamics properly etc.

on Saturn 2, do you leave the default setting exactly as it is or do you bring the mix knob down and tweak it?

RVox by waves is an essential for vocals. Purple Audio's MC77 is great. Greg Wells Voice-centric is a delay, reverb, & doubler with an EQ/Compression knob (Cheat code for bedroom studios), it's zero latency and cpu friendly so you can use it while recording and replace it in the mix if needed.

Most plugins I use are very subtle and don't make much of a difference these are the ones I find work best
    1.) Antares Auto tune EFX
    2.) Waves Rvox
    3.) Slate Digital Fresh Air
    4.) Waves CLA Vocals
    5.) Vocal Synth 2

Coming in UAD 1073, C-vox, Antares, 1176, & LA2A. Once in the box, FabFilter suite for literally everything using Bitwig built-ins for modulation.

1176 compressors paired with lala compressors do an outstabding job at making the vocals sit in the mix without popping out to much

I use the reverberate 3 which also comes with the bricasti IRs and funny enough the plates and room you suggest are exactly the same ones I usually use (they're built in to my template for easy A/Bing) sunset plate is 75% the winner

I found the OFF/ON examples not very helpful. I need to hear exactly the same passage with and without plugins - that would be far more helpful in hearing the real difference.

Feel that, I have to solo and bypass all my plugins before I can hear any difference in just one plugin that I’m turning off and on.

Top 5 hugely underated free plugins for me (all by Chris from Airwindows)
Pop (or pop2), Focus, DeBess, Air2 (or 3 now) and Clearcoat. I've used these so much over other big brands it's crazy.
Also Galactic and TapeDelay2 for huge reverb and delay games.

I don't have to deal with vocals, however, I have to give a shoutout to Seventh Heaven, the cheaper non-pro version. It's an amazing piece of software that can serve as the poor man's SH Pro if you had side-chain compression for ducking.

wait, did you just say metatune sounds more natural than melodyne to you?

    • @doingittodeath
      @doingittodeath 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

In some cases, yes. Metatune is an incredibly good pitch correction tool and the note stabilizer is somewhat unique. If you have to do very specific and surgical tuning you might use Melodyne or brainworx Crispytuner but if your vocal doesnt need that, Metatune is your future go-to
