I honestly think this is one of Freddy's most _terrifying_ moments.
He's not being threatening, he's not attacking or trying to kill Jessie...he's trying to _tempt him._ To _Seduce him_ to commit evil for him.
It's so strange to see Freddy so calm and subdued. It's creepy to see Freddy do this; I don't know to describe it, but "Try it on for size," always gets me.

Because of all the gay subtext Freddy basically represented Jesse’s homosexual desires and back then in the 80s it was bad and scary so that’s why Freddy represented them as “forbidden desires” as Robert said during the earlier scene with Jesse and Freddy Freddy acted really seductive because he is also part of the subconscious and libido
So killing Freddy meant killing off and getting rid of those forbidden desires and forcing yourself to be straight. It said it could be taken as gay or bisexual but I think gay fits and makes sense more.
A good example is Freddy trying to take control as Jesse was kissing Lisa showing that Jesse may not be as interested in kissing girls as he makes himself think and then running to Grady’s house and Freddy killing him was basically Jesse “acting on those homosexual thoughts” and since it was bad back then that’s why he was dead
It is kinda off putting that all this shows homosexuality in a bad light but again it was the 80s and it was showing an accurate representation of repulsed closeted gay man in the 80s
All the scenes where he is parents think there is something wrong after the nightmares and killings and that he should see someone is accurate representation of parents thinking something is wrong with their kids if they show the slightest sign of being queer.

Then (as a kid)...and now (adult/40s), only "gay" thing I got out of the *whole movie was the "secret lifestyle" of the bully gym teacher.
Yes the [actor] playing Jessie is homo in real life, but his character in the film is straight.
Freddy's main goal (plot wise) was to NOT be limited to killing ppl only in the dream world. So Jessie being socially awkward (not as extreme but similar to Freddy in his youth), Freddy simply tried possessing Jessie gradually throughout the film. A lot of 80s/90s horror characters attempted the possession route back then. Unfortunately the movie didn't explain some of this in detail, AND most fans simply weren't feeling the few "gay" aspects in the film (or the actor playing main protagonist) - most simply wanted Nancy back, one of the reasons Pt3 is arguably the best in the series, *despite Freddy being his DARKEST in Pt2 (makeup etc) ✌️

Nowadays in this new generation of the 2020s this nightmare on elm Street films are not as scary as they were back in the older days for those that were kids and teens back in the 80s and early 90s but they're still very fun and entertaining to watch Just to see what the 80s were all about I mean I personally still enjoy watching them even today

If ANOES 2 were done today, they would have let Mark/Jesse be openly gay instead of the ambiguity. Would you like to see it remade Mark?

I was not aware Mark had his own TH-cam channel (if it is really him). This is such an underrated classic. I would say Freddy is at his most sadistic in this one. Please check out my review/analysis of this movie and comment (if you have time). I found a few moments of symbolism: th-cam.com/video/xK6E2qyNaBg/w-d-xo.html
