    Considering the absurdity of Hanzo's kite bomb dropping technique, it might be just a straw doll dressed like Hanzo while he controls the kite from far away, with a few bombs either planted beforehand or just dropped using a string mechanism, making it look like the "person" on the kite is dropping bombs

      If not as an actual episode, seeing as he was covered here, then maybe as a bonus episode after the first season (if this is even going to be a season show) is done...
      As a bonus episode it wouldn't take up as much of GG's time since he could work on it in patches and put it out once finished.

    Yeee! I was waiting for this guy to get onto Which Ninja!!! I'm very pleased with the research you've done here, Gaijin!
    Now here's my question: his weakness to the Centaur Arrow and Gemini Laser in The Power Fighters and World 3, respectively, make sense: one being a tool of range, precision and equal mysticality, and the other being unpredictable, piercing, and bright enough to reveal the ninja! However, Top Spin... is this a weakness that would have cultural reference?
    Part of me would think that a ninja would not stick around in close quarters to be attacked by such an unconventional martial art: a roundhouse kick of high spinning.

    • @tetrakataki
      @tetrakataki 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Funny thing. As part of the Mega Man fanbase, I've talked with some folks. We've gone over "why do these things beat who they do?" and this one came up rather quickly. While I don't know if it has cultural significance, the common consensus seems to be that it's surprising and disorienting simply because all other weapons you get are ranged and not quite like the Top Spin. Nobody expects it - not just in general, but to even DO anything. I guess what better way to beat a master of surprise than to become one yourself by "mastering" a "surprise"? (Top Spin is notoriously difficult to use)

    • @The_Wosh
      @The_Wosh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Jon Causith yeah, Beyblade had a ninja, and he was defeated

    • @JeffUy287
      @JeffUy287 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only thing I can come off with this logic is if this is the a real battle, Mega man use Top Spin to throw back Shadow Man's shuriken to him.

    • @tetrakataki
      @tetrakataki 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The real question is can Mega Man use the Top Spin to actually reflect them like Top himself does? That much is unknown, but considering you can still be harmed while spinning, the answer may be "no".

  • @DataDrain02
    @DataDrain02 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow... this was actually really cool to watch. Like, I legit didn't know some of the things Ninja did were real. Like the weird mansions and what not.
    It's funny too. The Makibishi mentality can still be seen to this day.... Not in REAL fights. But, some fighting game characters. Let's use Snake in Brawl as an example. He has land mines, and C4 as traps he can use on the ground. But, they were more used to manipulate the foe's position, rather than do damage alone. I WOULD say the same about Diddy in Smash 4.... But, most of them would rather throw the banana peels to do combos, rather than pure stage control. But it still happens.
    Also, learning about Jiraiya's story was interesting. It's neat to see how folklore still affects stories to this very day.
    Gotta say, I'm looking forward to more of these kinds of videos. Learning about this kind of stuff is fascinating.

    I have a suggestion for the subject of a future ninja video, Akatuski from Log Horizon. This one would be a little interesting being as the character herself isn't stated to be a ninja, the class of character she played in the game before it got real was called Assassin, and she took a subclass of Tracker (or Scout) depending on the translation you're using. However, Akatsuki herself actually refers to herself as a ninja and has a reputation of getting so involved in her role playing that it's next to impossible to tell what she is really like. So my question here is, how accurate is her role playing to the real thing?

    Also...does that ktie thing kinda explain Batman's Cape-Glide in the Arkham Games? It's the same principle; it allows him to fly, he makes a similar stance to a kite, etc.

    This was a pretty interesting episode shame Zer0 miss the cut, oh well next time. Also it would be interesting if Dishonored's Corvo and Emily be put to the test. I know not ninjas but I'm sure there is something in the covers.

    Gaijin, I have looked hard for any that would do culture videos on The Elder Scrolls series. And by that I don't mean specifically the Nordic culture of Skyrim. I'm talking about other things. The Dark Brotherhood, The Morang Tong, the creatures like the Netch and Kwarma from Morrowind. No one else goes as in depth as you do and I'd hope that you could cover these topics.

    6:33 contemporary handgrenades arent really meant to kill either, but rather to disable, after all a squad that has to take care of a wounded member will not be able to move as quickly as one with one less member
