White makes a lot of sense for the Sheikah, at least when they're doing royal body guarding and the kind. Have you seen how light are the castles? Dark clothing would stick out like a sore thumb, specially the upper part (the one most likely to be seen from bellow if they're spying from top of a wall or the like).

Yeah, the blue and white reads to me as if they want to blend with castle walls and the sky, especially at dusk and dawn. The white probably also makes them blend in even better if they have the sun to their back
Might also be because Hyrule usually never has a straight up clear day or night. So dark blue and white would also make sense if they're meant to hide above among the blue sky and white clouds

Hey Gaijn. I love your videos. This video reminded me of a discussion i had with a friend about the apocalypse and somehow the discussion shifted to shinobi culture (we're huge fans of all things apocalypse and all things japan). We ended up discussing the theoretical applications of shinobi culture/ tactics for use after the apocalypse.
First I would like to say I just recently came across your channel and it's really good, great script and quality and genuinely unique yet interesting ideas, good job. Could you do a which ninja on Ryu Hayubusa he is my favorite childhood video game ninja. Keep up the good work.

Love the Nioh clip there lol I’m working on killing Nue next. He’s a very tough fight! And only the 5th boss I’ve fought so far! I bought the game not long ago after rewatching your video discussing it. Perhaps Nue has some cultural origins as well, like about 80% of the game?

I’d also like to see how historically accurate a kusarigama + sword ninja build is (and no, not just because that’s what I’m running right now).
I think another simple explanation for the short-sword-on-back thing is that it just simply provides two or really as much fixture points between the sheath and your belt as you want, not only one. Which not only helps with drawing shorter, knife like blades from a tight sheath as you said, but also comes in handy in keeping it from moving around and getting stuck or banging into things while you sneak and move and climb around.
Also, simply throw on a coat or even a cape, and a short enough sword kept there on your back becomes neigh innoticeable. Which is good if you could get your hand chopped of for just being spotted carrying a sword.

Looking at how amazing the sheikah armor is, it makes me wanna cosplay it.

One day could you do an episode on the ninja of League of Legends, or the cultures behind some of the factions in LoL, Riot games just made a video explaining one of the locations in the League of Legends world. It would be a cool video to see you dissect the different cultures in the universe. Keep up the good work.

Hey Gaijin, I'm not sure if this is territory you cover (partly because of copyright) but I recently watched The Princess and the Frog. The main villain is really into voodoo. During his songs there are tons of symbols, masks and puppets shown on screen and a guy in the comments said that Disney really did their homework on it. It would be really cool to see everything in those scenes explained.
I really hope you get to the Yiga, I've been curious about them since i first saw them.

BoredWeazul well some of the frames you can get in warframe does look like they were inspired by ninjas.
I think Nova would be a good one. her Deluxe skin has obvious ties to Buddhism. like the orbs around her neck, the cloth hanging off her waste, the arms of light that sprout from her back during her idle animation. Even her powers could be linked to Buddhism. Nova uses anti-matter manipulation. when volatile anti-matter meets matter, the matter and anti-matter are destroyed to create gamma ray photons in a process known as "annihilation". In Buddhism, Nirvana is reached through total destruction of the self to evolve to a higher plane of existence, exactly like an electron colliding with a positron to create a gamma ray photon. Basically, Digital Extremes made a cultural and religious reference out of particle physics, and that is fucking awesome

lets be real here, warframe has no business calling itself a ninja themed co-op shooter, as i've never seen a ninja themed game that goes as balls to the walls with it's loud, explosive guns.
That's not to say i dont like the game its just that the ninja concept never worked, as thats not what the game is about

This might be weird request but... Have you ever heard Ginga Nagareboshi Gin or following sequels? About wild dogs fighting for peace in Japan? There is also (weirdly) some ninja dogs which has been long time ago trained by Iga-clan. It might be just fantasy but is there any proves about that Iga-clan or ninja's in general has trained dogs for services? If so, how and what for? Is it anything than in that manga/anime series they are telling?

I like how the Sheikah and Yiga clans in Zelda parallel the rivalry between the Iga and Koga that happened in real life, also the leader of the Yiga clan is called Kohga.

I'd just like to point out my theory: Deku Nuts aren't JUST flash bombs (though one can't deny they do flash). Even when used by Impa and Sheik, they remain Stun bombs just like Link use them. The Sheikah don't suddenly disappear; they just go away while Link is frozen blue, unable to experience anything for a short while -- and so is the player, who interact with Hyrule trough Link himself.
As I said in the “who is the best ninja in video games” video, I believe white and blue were used on Sheikah uniforms to blend with the colors of the sky.

I have a request, could you take a look at Ikari. He is a Ninja, and Daredevil villain that appeared in Daredevil issue #25 in 2013. He has a short run as a character, but the couple of issues he first showed up in were some of my favorite. There isn't too much info on him, and he's not very popular so I'd understand you not making the vid. If you see this all I can ask is that you consider it.
I thought the shiekah were intersting when first introduced in zelda series. Other the the twili in twilight princess, i would love a side series which focused to the shiekah. Impa in particular, though impa from first hyrule warriors is my favorite version of her lol

I, unfortunately, don't have the money to patronize (atm) but would like you to point you in the direction of a game I got as part of a humble bundle that quickly supplanted the game I actually wanted, that game is Shado Tactics Blades of the Shogun. It feels like other games I've played that were historically accurate although I can't say whether this one is, and I find the charecters truly compelling.

Of all of the races and entities in all of Legend of Zelda, the Sheikah have always been my favorite. Growing up I thought they a combination of wizardry and ninja. But knowing it's all ninja actually makes them a lot cooler than I originally imagined them to be. Can't wait for what you got about the Yiga

Hey everyone I'm Aru The Khajiit Warrior from my Skyrim and I like to say this Zelda Breath of the Wild reminds me of the days when I use to play World of Warcraft i n that I use to be Human Priest Class in the Alliance side use to be known as Huh I forgot what I use to be known as in the World of Warcraft when years went by I quit playing the game and that is when I was introduce to Skyrim now that game is even better and I beat the game last night and started a new game and the name I'm going by now is Aru The Xuebao Zhanshi who is going to wearing light armor and use one handed weapons of daggers, swords, War Axes, Maces, and use Shields and going as a Khajiit race again and give my Avatar an image look of the Snow Leopard so not only I like Zelda Breath of the Wild I also like Skyrim and totally into Medieval games and World of Warcraft will always be my favorite game but it took too much space on my computer and had switched over to tablet like everyone else and I give this Gaijin Goombah Media Which Ninja Episode good thumbs up and good credits & points 👍👍✌✌👏👏☯️ and that is it for now and as my friend always says it some of you Fans & Players & People would have to at least agree with me on that one on this Gaijin Goombah Media Which Ninja Episode at least.!?¡¿ ♤♡♧◇€£₩¥ 🎮🕹💞👍👍✌✌👏👏🕵️♀️🕵️♂️😎☯️
