I am surprised they just haven't gone the 3D remastered route like the pokemon oras remake or the dragon quest remakes. They can just do the first 3 games as remasters easily reusing like half the assets from the different installment and not make more since the original creator is dead set on the idea the the series ended with mother 3.
I dont see them continuing the mother series through a sequel since 3 was the end of the trilogy. I think its more likely nintendo would make a remake the first or second game in the style of links awakening

They literally promised us there would be one in one of the insanity effect things. It was called something like Sanity's Redemption, I think? I loved Eternal Darkness, and would love to see it resurrected.
Given Luke's interest in prehistoric creatures, I was a little surprised he did not mention Fossil Fighters at all. Which is like Pokemon except of finding and capturing you dig, clean and revive dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.
As a kid I was scared of being turned into a tree because of the original Golden Sun, I had a healthy fear of trees that lasted a long time because of that game!!! Still 10/10 though.
I'm so glad i'm not the only one who remembers Golden Sun. It's one of my favorite series and i'm still waiting for a new game after the clifhanger they had in the last one.
Well I feel old. Luke didnt even mention the original F-Zero on SNES. I still have my original cartridge and bring it out every so often for some hella satisfying 16 bit racing
Anyone remember a cool little series called Lost Kingdoms for the Gamecube? It was a card based action RPG where you summoned monsters to battle for you. There were only two games but the world lore was awesome and the second game had already perfected the battle system. I sank hundreds of hours into both games, was always gutted the series never got a third outing
I would love to see a new Lost Kingdoms, or even a remaster. I'm not sure if it qualifies for this list, since despite being GameCube exclusive it was made by FromSoftware and published by Activision, but the series absolutely deserves a second chance at life.
Hold up, so Luke got to make a list of Nintendo games that should be brought back and he didn't mention POKÉMON SNAP! Who are you and what have you done with Luke, EVERYONE EVIL LUKE IS BACK, USE THE CODE WORD to warn Ellen and the rest of the ox crew everyone!
Unrelated you know what I want? An RPJ where I play as various characters from musicals explore various worlds of musicals and have a battle system based around music and musical numbers. COME ON NINTENDO THE THEATRE KIDS ARE ABOUND YOU WOULD MAKE SO MUCH MONEY.
6:42 wait so “crank that” by soulja boy is 13 years old this year!? Damn oxtra, making me feel old as hell. Remembering bluetoothing that song and loads of happy hardcore to my pals on the way to school. Good times.
I would flat out drop everything I planned on saving for to get a Switch if they brought out the Golden Sun games and confirmed that you could transfer your save from 1 to 2. That soundtrack really does hit you in the feels sometimes. Full Moon in Garoh. Tell me that's not the perfect background music to ride out a depressive state until you feel good enough to function again.
Oh my yes to Golden Sun (and starfox if it is in fact dead...) I have very fond memories of GS... Except for Dunhallen, that one boss in the lost sanctum that was harder than the final boss... Also, what about Chrono Trigger? Anyone else remember that one?
I really do think that you can mention the Golden Sun series once more, if only for the fact that the third game, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn ends in a freaking cliffhanger!!! ... I am still waiting here Nintendo... standing in front of the Psyenergy Vortex.... for 10 years...
Dude Golden Sun was my absolute favorite but my parents were really really poor when I was growing up so I managed to get Golden Sun (used) from gamestop, but never managed to find Golden Sun 2...:(
"Etrian Odyssey", for I fear they'll never renew it, now that the touchscreen feature from the DS has been ditched! 😭 Otherwise than that, I wholeheartedly agree with Golden Sun!
Etrian Odyssey is produced by a third party, but check out Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. It's made by the same producer and carries the Etrian Odyssey trademarks.
I see this is a passionate subject for Luke, don't think iv heard him blank out a swear word b4 lol, I just want them to port all the Wii u Zelda's including the remake of wind waker
Again, many thanks for keeping the content coming through these weird times. It's greatly appreciated! Edit: OMFG, someone besides me knows of Golden Sun?!
We exist in the cracks and crevices of the internet... Waiting to hear the beloved words ring out from the rooftops. "Golden Sun" I love those games even if Dark Dawn was thoroughly meh.
I don't think I've ever agreed with Luke more than I do about demanding more Golden Sun. I love those games so much and I'd play the hell out a 4th installment. While we're at it remaster the first 2. They deserve it.
No one remembers StarTropics these days, not even Nintendo. This December the series will be celebrating its 30th anniversary and guess what: despite being a Nintendo series, StarTropics has NEVER been represented in any Smash Bros game. StarTropics has been forgotten to the point that you'll rarely find it on "Top Forgotten Nintendo Series" lists...
Wooo! Endless Ocean! I was literally just replaying 2 when I saw this and I'm 100% on board, Luke. Between the Switch and the possibility for VR, how could they not? Which ocean do I drop all my money in for this to happen?
I loved advance wars but I feel like it at least ended its storyline satisfyingly (cant recall exactly though) golden sun was the absolute best thing on the GBA though and that DEFINITELY ended with a cliffhanger. I want more golden sun. None of those games ended without questions, even the lost age which ended Issac and co.s quest
Ok so if the Oxtra summer teambuilding weekend doesn’t involve a jetski race, imma be the big dissapoint... I’m 76% sure that it won’t go completely mike... probably...
Unfortunately they live in the UK. The vast majority of jet ski races are probably banned under village council and city council noise ordinances banning "merry-making and rable-rousing" after 5pm except on some saturdays. Importing high quality jet skis from Germany and Sweden or through another EU country will probably soon become prohibitively expensive for them. Also most of the lakes and rivers are probably either industrial sludge ponds or protected as part of their national forests Lol jk
Two words: Kid Icarus. Seriously, I want nothing more than to see Pit, Dark Pit, Palutena, Hades, and literally every other character return because they're all so lovable, even those who are trying to kill everyone and everything.
Luke: more commonly known as earthbound because thats the game that had ness in it the one that can be found in super smash brothers Me: But lucas is in smash and he was in mother 3
the last on-rail shooter to hit the mainstream with any kind of impact was Rambo: The Video Game, for all the wrong reasons, not exactly a great entry for the genre
I love how they're just casually forgetting xenoblade exists with the whole "nintendo doesn't do rpgs besides mario ones" part. He even mentions octopath traveller as the closest example for some reason.
It's probably more because Xenoblade is not a traditional JRPG in terms of "Turn-based battles" and all that jazz. It's not really comparable to Golden Sun, even if they both are a part of the same genre - The gameplay's very different.
Just a remaster of 2 without the stupid 1000000 g requirement to reopen the Cavern of the Gods would be amazing. Or at least remove the "lol we only needed half" after you've collected it all.
Unfortunately, Nintendo's logic tends to be that if a game franchise isn't Mario or Zelda related, its merely a footnote in the company's history. I'd kill for a new Golden Sun game, since that franchise is some of my favorite RPGs of all time. I'd settle for a new Nintendogs though, since that's one of the games I played the most on my DS, and I actually owned one of the limited edition Nintendogs releases of the DS.....
I’ve been saying this since the Wii U, we should totally have another Pokemon Snap. With all of the new pokemon, they could update it regularly. There could be events for certain Pokemon to appear during a certain time of year.
If you like _Advance Wars_ and _Fire Emblem_ look up _Shining Force._ It and _Shining Force 2_ are oft-overlooked Sega Genesis classics in the same style, but with a much greater emphasis on high fantasy and magic. Great story, awesome characters, amazing gameplay.

No mention of Earthworm Jim? Sure 3D was a mistake, but those were incredible. At the very least they should bring him back as a Smash character.
Sin and Punishment and maybe Eternal Darkness.
Super Mario Galaxy? I dunno... It just had a great concept and music, it just needed to have some work done to it to make it a bit less linear.

They literally promised us there would be one in one of the insanity effect things. It was called something like Sanity's Redemption, I think? I loved Eternal Darkness, and would love to see it resurrected.
@@valerynorth I recommend Evil Tonight, It's a sprite based horror game.
Wow, Tret traumatized you... glad you still enjoy the game after that though!
I'm so glad i'm not the only one who remembers Golden Sun. It's one of my favorite series and i'm still waiting for a new game after the clifhanger they had in the last one.
Jesus Christ, my beloved Nintendogs WAS from 2005. And that's 15 years ago. I need to lay down for a second.
jheckie14 out of all the words in the in the English lexicon you had to go and string _these_ together? Why?
don't lay down too long, the sands of time are poring
@@taipolar333 how do i make it stop?
I'm still waiting for a sequel to quest 64 that was cancelled, due to financial troubles in the studio....that was 20 years ago...
Well I feel old. Luke didnt even mention the original F-Zero on SNES. I still have my original cartridge and bring it out every so often for some hella satisfying 16 bit racing
“There was one game that was doing weird before it was trendy...” -looks at the NES library- Riiiiight.
Golden Sun and Advance Wars was literally my childhood.
I REALLY want to see more Golden Sun, I’d just be worried about Camelot working on it these days.
9:22 YEEES.
THIS. This is what I was looking for.
Golden Sun is my childhood, and I would kill for a remake of some sort!
Oh, I loved these games :D
There was another card based game, although it played differently, called Baten Kaitos. I'd love to see more of that, too.
Thank you for the Golden Sun reminder but can I please get, at the very least, a remake of Illusion of Gaia? I loved that game when I was a kid!
Oh no what did he do to Luke?! Has anyone checked the shipping container?
"Kingdom of Amalur" ?
* *loud stomping noises* *
4:50 "I swear to god I will frisbee the f**king console into the river" Chill, Luke!
Imagine : Golden Sun remaster with Octopath Traveler-style visuals. I'd play that
Bless you for including Golden Sun, you are doing the work of thousands!
yes please more Golden Sun, loved that series and the last one clearly looked like it had more to tell
Motoi Sakuraba at his best, without a shadow of a doubt.
Hmm, an Advance Wars style Godzilla game could be fun with today's tech.
I want another Kid Icarus game. Uprising from 2012 was such a gem, with such a good sense of humor and great gameplay.
"Do we really need a new Punchout when Arms is a thing"
Yes we do. Just because you punch in both doesn't mean they're similar.
Dude Golden Sun was my absolute favorite but my parents were really really poor when I was growing up so I managed to get Golden Sun (used) from gamestop, but never managed to find Golden Sun 2...:(
Please do another list like this with franchises other than from Nintendo. Mainly so you can include Onimusha in it.
advance wars got a remaster, now it gave me hope for golden sun to be reborn, though there's almost no chance of it happening :'(
"Etrian Odyssey", for I fear they'll never renew it, now that the touchscreen feature from the DS has been ditched! 😭
Otherwise than that, I wholeheartedly agree with Golden Sun!
Etrian Odyssey is an Atlus series I think....I know it's not a 1st party series though
Etrian Odyssey is produced by a third party, but check out Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. It's made by the same producer and carries the Etrian Odyssey trademarks.
@@GayBearDaddy2 thanks, will do! I think I somewhat overlooked the Atlus part, because Nintendo and them worked together for EO V... 😅
YES represent golden sun. Thank you for including it!! I really hope they do a remaster and combine the og and lost age.
Last time I was this early these franchises were still alive
"Hop to it Nintendo, if I'm not playing (a) new Golden Sun by Christmas I will kick off!"
Dude... Luke... YES! Thank you!
I see this is a passionate subject for Luke, don't think iv heard him blank out a swear word b4 lol, I just want them to port all the Wii u Zelda's including the remake of wind waker
Franchises we'd love to see again: Fossil Fighters, F-ZERO, Kid Icarus, and Golden Sun
Again, many thanks for keeping the content coming through these weird times. It's greatly appreciated!
Edit: OMFG, someone besides me knows of Golden Sun?!
We exist in the cracks and crevices of the internet... Waiting to hear the beloved words ring out from the rooftops. "Golden Sun"
I love those games even if Dark Dawn was thoroughly meh.
You two should check out the Reddit community if you don't know it yet, we also have a Discord. ;)
I don't think I've ever agreed with Luke more than I do about demanding more Golden Sun. I love those games so much and I'd play the hell out a 4th installment. While we're at it remaster the first 2. They deserve it.
I'm still waiting for a sequel to Ice Climber after all these years...
Luke, you are now my favorite Ox family member! I never hear anyone talk about Golden Sun. I think it is really highly underrated.
Luke going all DOB for a second and threatening to throw his switch in a river! 😂
This is the quality content I subscribed for. 👍💜
Also most of the lakes and rivers are probably either industrial sludge ponds or protected as part of their national forests
Lol jk
Two words: Kid Icarus.
Seriously, I want nothing more than to see Pit, Dark Pit, Palutena, Hades, and literally every other character return because they're all so lovable, even those who are trying to kill everyone and everything.
Luke: more commonly known as earthbound because thats the game that had ness in it the one that can be found in super smash brothers
Me: But lucas is in smash and he was in mother 3
Gotta love how they made a 4th advance wars
And here I am just wanting more Custom Robo.
That one donkey kong 64 game,
Pokemon collseum+the minigames,
Pokemon gale of darkness games,
Hello Pikachu,
Hmm what else...
"On-rails shooters, a genre that's all but died out today." I don't know, they still make Call of Duty, don't they?
Can we get an f in chat for black ops 1 for the wii
the last on-rail shooter to hit the mainstream with any kind of impact was Rambo: The Video Game, for all the wrong reasons, not exactly a great entry for the genre
@@MABfan11 yes I guess now cod is an fps now and less on rail shooter
Kid Icarus Uprising
KID ICARUS UPRISING!
That Gears of War cut at 4:11 was brilliant. I know it's only a small part of the video as a whole, but I just wanted you to know I really liked it.
It's not really comparable to Golden Sun, even if they both are a part of the same genre - The gameplay's very different.
he did mention fire emblem tho
edit: also earthbound and mother.
Xenoblade isn't a true blue turn based JRPG, more like an RTS
Respect for mentioning golden sun... god i miss that game ..
“Do we need new Pilotwings” is the closest I’ve ever come to disliking one of these videos 😜 Yes. Yes, we do.
What I would give for Camelot to come back to us with even just a final Golden Sun entry... at least a kidney.
For some reason I was terrified of Endless Ocean as a kid but nonetheless I’d love another game or a remaster
Seriously Nintendo Luke dropped 2 f bombs in the first 5 minutes bring back these games before he drops he a 3rd
I’ve been saying this since the Wii U, we should totally have another Pokemon Snap. With all of the new pokemon, they could update it regularly. There could be events for certain Pokemon to appear during a certain time of year.
What about Pokemon conquest? That was an amazing game for the DS. There's only the one, but I think it deserves a sequel.
