Bendak's Blaster in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Easily the best blaster pistol in the game and available really early, but the only way to get it is by killing the retired Taris dueling champion in an illegal death match. And if you miss it, you can't go back because Malak has nuked all of Taris.
I love the spoiler lists on these videos because I'm like "well I haven't played that yet, but at the same time I don't want to miss the missable item."

The only problem being that typically once you know what games there are spoilers for, you can immediately surmise what they’re going to talk about, which kind of spoils the video. But it is a good inclusion... but that’s also why I’d guess more people don’t do that, choosing instead to give a general spoiler warning.

Realistically, Pokémon games have LOADS of missable items. But most are inconsequential. looting a Team Rocket base and only getting 3 potions instead of 4? meh. But sometimes it's a TM that's hard to find or an equipment item that's super rare.
Donnel from Fire Emblem Awakening He's obtained in a side quest where he joins your gang and will only stay with you if you manage to level him up in that very mission- but at first he's utterly abysmal and very likely to get killed. In addition there's no way to know he would end up being good at all, he seems completely awful. However he has a unique ability wherein his level ups are always better than other characters. By the end of the game he's an absolute tank.

The Painted troll fat in ESIV: Oblivion's sidequest, 'A Brush with Death'. They're not more useful than normal troll fat or anything, but still unique to a location that you can visit only once.

Regular troll fat has Damage Agility, Fortify Personality, Damage Willpower, and Damage Health as its alchemical properties, while painted troll fat has Fortify Magicka, Restore Health , Fortify Health, and Restore Magicka as its properties. Unless you're making poisons more than potions, the painted troll fat is much better.

I don’t remember this clearly but I think there’s a a sword in Skyrim called windshear with a hilarious rag doll effect that trivializes 1 on 1 fights. you can only get it on an assassin mission and it’s easy to miss because it’s on the bow of the dang ship
@@davidthane9002 nope it doesnt, most dark brotherhood place related quest will be gone after the related mission is done... (Since it is a spinoff from main mission).
You can return to the ship at anytime afterward, but the sword is only there while the Hail Sithis quest is active. If you decide to kill off the dark brotherhood though, the sword will never appear.
I was expecting elder scrolls IV oblivion's ayleid sword and mace. It's a pain in the rump to get them. you have to make them sheathe their weapons and then instakill them and search their bodies before they hit the ground.
I remember playing through The Lord of the Rings: the Third Age ages ago, and realising I'd missed one of the weapons in Osgiliath, I think it was an Easterling polearm. Unfortunately I didn't realise until I was at the Pelennor Fields, and when I tried to go back I couldn't access the area it was supposed to be in. Even over a decade later, I'm still slightly annoyed about that! Seemed appropriate, given the comments about LOTR in the video.

@@danielribeiro1433there's something i'm curious about. the super heavy arrows(dragon slayer arrows) were used to fell the ancient dragons from the skies. and due to their users being the giants, gods and others with great strength, i thought they went farther than a lighter arrow would. i assumed in such cases the lighter arrows wouldn't travel the farthest possible distance as they have less momentum,(putting aside differences in shape and not necessarily aiming up) was i mistaken ? (i'm also not sure how far the player character can make them go, though using them requires very high strength i think)
@@unculturedswine5583 This actually entirely depends on the force used to launch the arrow and the speed the arrows are travelling. Assuming velocity and launch force are equal, than the heavier arrows would not travel as far to a certain point. As the velocity increases, the heavier arrow will be more able to remain stable while the lighter arrow will become significantly more unstable in flight. This comes from the drag force on the arrows becoming closer and closer to the momentum of the arrow. This is why paper throwing knives are basically useless while metal ones can be thrown dozens of feet accurately.

The FF7 missable reminds me of the absolutely insane missables in FFX, just a few installments later. Every puzzle-esque dungeon called the Cloister of Trials has a hidden treasure that you get by successfully manipulating whatever gimmick that trial uses. There are several throughout the story, and once you leave the trial, you can never re-enter. Miss even one, and you can't get the powerful summon Anima later in the game. What makes this worse is that the most powerful end-game summon, the Magus Sisters, require you defeat a suped-up version of every Aeon with your own Aeon of the same type, so if you can't get Anima, you can't challenge the final boss in the quest to obtain the Magus Sisters

Just have to add this about Cait Sith’s ultimate weapon. No spoilers but it can be found early on in the game, even before Cait Sith is in the game. Cloud just looks at it however and says ‘what is this, some sort of megaphone?’ And puts it back!🤷♂️
Special mention to Eternal Darkness for not giving you the ultimate weapon unless you found three key items in different levels (each of which was lost forever if you didn't find it, one of which was literally invisible unless you learnt and cast the right spell at the right time), then used them to solve a puzzle in the penultimate level. Your reward is, to be fair, a magical sword that can be thrown at enemies and return to your hand, Thor style.
A magic sword that returns when thrown and is infused with all Mantarok's magic...which I think causes damage overtime. Either way, Pious is no match for it. Good thing for him you're forced to switch out characters.
Y'know, I was really expecting at least one item from Skyrim on here. A great one is Konahrik, the dragon priest mask. If you get all eight dragon priest masks and take them to Labyrinthian then use the Wooden Mask found there to travel back in time, you place the eight masks on the busts and get Konahrik. This is a completely unprompted side quest with no markers whatsoever. If you lose or sell even one of the masks, you can't ever get the secret one.

Not an item, but a whole bunch of characters/units in Fire Emblem Awakening are missable. (And I assume all/most FE games, too.) The very first time I played, I missed Tharja because I killed her, assuming she was a random enemy and not knowing you had to approach her with Chrom to recruit her. I also missed Morgan because I failed to save him in time. (I ended up bailing on that save file and starting over so I could do things right.)
You all definitely need to include Kingdom Hearts in the next episode of this list! The only way to get Ultima (the best weapon) was to get every piece of orichalcum so if you missed the one in Halloween Town, it'd be gone for good since it was in Oogie Boogie's house and all that was left after the fight was a crater

The Final Mix versions of KH games are updated rereleases like the International versions of Final Fantasy games. These games took a while to get release outside Japan and in the process, content got added and fixed in the american release, so they release the same game again on Japan with these additions and sometimes with even more content added exclusively to Japan. These Japan exclusive fixes and features were only added in the HD remasters of these games for Western audiences, yes, this games were properly updated and fixed for the West around 10 years after their release.

I know this is late but in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade,there are certain extra chapters can be miss for good. Those missable chapters have missable legendary weapons. Those missable weapon are needed for last three chapters(You must have all of them and not broken) as well the true ending.
In Elder Scrolls: Oblivion there was a side quest where you help a farmer fend off some goblins. In return, he gives you an enchanted sword Chillirend. The thing is you have to meet the farmer or one of his sons on the road. If you don't, they die before you get the chance to get a nice sword.
You guys might need to make a second commenter edition of this video, because what about the rifle from Silent Hill 2? I missed the chance to grab it before falling into the hole in the area where the museum led into what I think was a prison? But regardless, once you miss the rifle and fall into that hole, you will NOT be awarded with a chance to get it ever again, leaving you with a salty taste in your mouth from then on every time you grab rifle ammo
Honestly, Witcher 3 had a LOT of easily missable collectables. Like all the gwent card from beating NPCs that die during certain quests. Fortunately the Baron's card can be looted from his room, but it's not so forgiving about most expendable NPCs. Then you can never get the achievement for collecting all the cards.
Isn’t there a card you can only get by beating a guy at the start of the game? I think you meet him shortly after completing the White Orchard tutorial.
"Who has Cait Sith in their party?" I play with every character in turns (keeping them all the same level has been my worthless achievement in the past) and I like playing with him. His limit breaks are fun and he's a good healer and heavy fighter.
Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem: the Mantorok rune, if you don't backtrack you won't get it. Not required to beat the game, but its recover spell is very helpful healing health & sanity at the same time.
Judith's Brionac spear in Tales of Vesperia. This one is doubly easy to miss, since not only does the game itself make identifying side quests a pain, but the starting point for this quest to get one of her best weapons is near the start of the game, long before she first enters your party.

Little Valkyrie right thanks I forgot them and the viper armor sets when attending the auction as a guest and all auction items the statue needs to be dismantled to get a treasure hunt and painting can be sold to a novigrad merchant for a good price if you pick the right painting (merchant painting)
This reminds me of the Eternal Sphere (Aeterna) in Star Ocean 2: The Second Story. First, keep this sword you get from a tournament relatively early in the game (after losing the final round as Claude to Dias from Gamgee). Craft it into a one-of-a-kind Minus Sword with Mythril. Then craft the Minus Sword with Mythril AGAIN to create the Eternal Sphere, the strongest Claude-only sword in the game.
Plus I love how evil guy even makes a snide comment about men and swords stuck in rocks lol he also shows disappointment in geralt if you stop for the treasure chests as well. All in all a very creepy mission and much scarier than the wimpy wild hunt.
An interesting one: In the free Steam game Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, there's a chest you can only open if you haven't opened any others. It shows up about 1/3 of the way in or so, so getting it without any upgrades is no easy feat. But, unless you pull it off, you'll miss out on easily the best weapin in the game, as you won't be able to get enough weapon upgrades.
Two-Handed Sword in "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" You have to rescue a monk while playing as zombie-in-the-making Anthony, and he'd give you a sword that would make all three chapters in Oublié Cathedral significantly easier. However, it's easy to miss in ADDITION to losing it forever if you do.
The Fists of Randagulf in Morrowind, super cool powerful a gauntlets that are hidden in Ilunibi in the room you cursed with Corprus. They are hidden BEHIND a trough, extremely easy to miss.
If you play a paladin in the Shadows of Undrentide campaign for Neverwinter Nights then the elven tomb at the very beginning has a Holy Avenger in it behind the puzzle you get access to for helping the elven ghost. So, if you're playing a paladin in that campaign you get one of the most powerful non-artifact weapons in the game somewhere between 3rd and 6th level.
Not an item, but an entire ending. When you fight the optional horde of Emil clones near the end of Nier Automata, one of the 26 endings - Ending Y - can only be gotten by letting them self destruct at the end of the fight. When you beat the Emil clones, you never get another chance to fight them even if you use Chapter Select to jump back earlier in the game, so if you miss out, it's gone forever.
On the handheld port of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, there's only one chance at getting a health upgrade. If you die inside the challenge, you get booted out then locked out. Meaning no true ending of the game. You needed all nine health upgrades to get the water sword to fight the Dahaka. Miss an upgrade then no water sword and no true ending.
Thought of one. Don't know if anyone else said it, but in FALLOUT 3 SPOILER! FALLOUT 3 SPOILER! In Fallout 3 there is a section in the Enclave Base of Raven Rock that is unrepeatable and one time only. One of the bobbleheads (the Perception one I think) is there . Which makes it even sadder when you look up a guide just after and realize you've missed it :"(

Oblivion, Shivering Isles- there's a point where you fight a shadow double of yourself in a creepy room with a shallow reflecting pool covering most of the floor. If your double's body lands in the water and is covered by it, you can't actually select it to loot it, and miss Shadowrend, my personal favorite sword in the DLC (or axe, apparently it will be an axe or sword to match your character's skills). First time I played it this happened and I assumed the body was meant to be unlootable anyway like a phantom illusion or something, until I stumbled across spoilers mentioning it existed and added it via the cheat console. (At least TES games always have one of those, lets you fix so many little things! I twitch a bit in games that don't let me fix their little mistakes with a quick command or two).
If my memory serves me correctly, it's possible to miss the BFG of all things in the DOOM 3 add-on Resurrection of Evil. Unlike the Super Shotgun earlier in the game (which is on display in an office) the BFG is hidden under some stairs. If you're racing through the game and don't hunt for secrets then you will find it that much harder to defeat Hell's demons.
I’m surprised that after so many games came back for this, yet Baldur’s Gate didn’t. There’s three times missable set of “armor” that you need to collect across 2.5 whole games. It’s extremely powerful, has special effects, and- actually, I’ll just say it. It’s Power Armor from Fallout.

The Painted troll fat in ESIV: Oblivion's sidequest, 'A Brush with Death'. They're not more useful than normal troll fat or anything, but still unique to a location that you can visit only once.
Not more useful? Are you daft? Regular troll fat has Damage Agility, Fortify Personality, Damage Willpower, and Damage Health as its alchemical properties, while painted troll fat has Fortify Magicka, Restore Health
, Fortify Health, and Restore Magicka as its properties. Unless you're making poisons more than potions, the painted troll fat is much better.
I don't know why, but that was the most memorable sidequest in the entire base game for me.

I don’t remember this clearly but I think there’s a a sword in Skyrim called windshear with a hilarious rag doll effect that trivializes 1 on 1 fights. you can only get it on an assassin mission and it’s easy to miss because it’s on the bow of the dang ship
Can't you return to the Ship later? i.e. doesn't the ship remain sitting there after the Brotherhood storyline finishes? Not sure though
It’s available any time after the ship spawns for the related quest.
@@davidthane9002 nope it doesnt, most dark brotherhood place related quest will be gone after the related mission is done... (Since it is a spinoff from main mission).
You can return to the ship at anytime afterward, but the sword is only there while the Hail Sithis quest is active. If you decide to kill off the dark brotherhood though, the sword will never appear.

I was expecting elder scrolls IV oblivion's ayleid sword and mace. It's a pain in the rump to get them. you have to make them sheathe their weapons and then instakill them and search their bodies before they hit the ground.
I remember playing through The Lord of the Rings: the Third Age ages ago, and realising I'd missed one of the weapons in Osgiliath, I think it was an Easterling polearm. Unfortunately I didn't realise until I was at the Pelennor Fields, and when I tried to go back I couldn't access the area it was supposed to be in. Even over a decade later, I'm still slightly annoyed about that!

and due to their users being the giants, gods and others with great strength, i thought they went farther than a lighter arrow would.
i assumed in such cases the lighter arrows wouldn't travel the farthest possible distance as they have less momentum,(putting aside differences in shape and not necessarily aiming up)
was i mistaken ? (i'm also not sure how far the player character can make them go, though using them requires very high strength i think)
@@unculturedswine5583 This actually entirely depends on the force used to launch the arrow and the speed the arrows are travelling. Assuming velocity and launch force are equal, than the heavier arrows would not travel as far to a certain point. As the velocity increases, the heavier arrow will be more able to remain stable while the lighter arrow will become significantly more unstable in flight. This comes from the drag force on the arrows becoming closer and closer to the momentum of the arrow. This is why paper throwing knives are basically useless while metal ones can be thrown dozens of feet accurately.

The FF7 missable reminds me of the absolutely insane missables in FFX, just a few installments later. Every puzzle-esque dungeon called the Cloister of Trials has a hidden treasure that you get by successfully manipulating whatever gimmick that trial uses. There are several throughout the story, and once you leave the trial, you can never re-enter. Miss even one, and you can't get the powerful summon Anima later in the game. What makes this worse is that the most powerful end-game summon, the Magus Sisters, require you defeat a suped-up version of every Aeon with your own Aeon of the same type, so if you can't get Anima, you can't challenge the final boss in the quest to obtain the Magus Sisters

Your reward is, to be fair, a magical sword that can be thrown at enemies and return to your hand, Thor style.

Y'know, I was really expecting at least one item from Skyrim on here. A great one is Konahrik, the dragon priest mask. If you get all eight dragon priest masks and take them to Labyrinthian then use the Wooden Mask found there to travel back in time, you place the eight masks on the busts and get Konahrik. This is a completely unprompted side quest with no markers whatsoever. If you lose or sell even one of the masks, you can't ever get the secret one.
My first playthrough I missed the skull of corruption, which I don't even use but didn't know I had to kill Erandur to get all achievements/trophies
And that’s not even the toughest dragon priest item to get. The staff that opens the portal to Sovengarde is almost impossible to obtain.

Not an item, but a whole bunch of characters/units in Fire Emblem Awakening are missable. (And I assume all/most FE games, too.) The very first time I played, I missed Tharja because I killed her, assuming she was a random enemy and not knowing you had to approach her with Chrom to recruit her. I also missed Morgan because I failed to save him in time. (I ended up bailing on that save file and starting over so I could do things right.)
I missed Tharja and Gaius due to killing them, and Laurent due to not knowing I had to go to the village in his map.
I too said "you're a Pokemon" in my head because I am a duplication of my dad.

The only way to get Ultima (the best weapon) was to get every piece of orichalcum so if you missed the one in Halloween Town, it'd be gone for good since it was in Oogie Boogie's house and all that was left after the fight was a crater

The Final Mix versions of KH games are updated rereleases like the International versions of Final Fantasy games. These games took a while to get release outside Japan and in the process, content got added and fixed in the american release, so they release the same game again on Japan with these additions and sometimes with even more content added exclusively to Japan. These Japan exclusive fixes and features were only added in the HD remasters of these games for Western audiences, yes, this games were properly updated and fixed for the West around 10 years after their release.

The Lightning Hawk in Resident Evil 3 remake. I nearly missed it in spite of knowing the trick to find it and searching for it specifically.
I know this is late but in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade,there are certain extra chapters can be miss for good. Those missable chapters have missable legendary weapons. Those missable weapon are needed for last three chapters(You must have all of them and not broken) as well the true ending.
In Elder Scrolls: Oblivion there was a side quest where you help a farmer fend off some goblins. In return, he gives you an enchanted sword Chillirend. The thing is you have to meet the farmer or one of his sons on the road. If you don't, they die before you get the chance to get a nice sword.
Technically, you can kill the farmer to get it if you mess the mission up. Kind of like the Mysterious Magnum in New Vegas.
You guys might need to make a second commenter edition of this video, because what about the rifle from Silent Hill 2? I missed the chance to grab it before falling into the hole in the area where the museum led into what I think was a prison? But regardless, once you miss the rifle and fall into that hole, you will NOT be awarded with a chance to get it ever again, leaving you with a salty taste in your mouth from then on every time you grab rifle ammo

Honestly, Witcher 3 had a LOT of easily missable collectables. Like all the gwent card from beating NPCs that die during certain quests. Fortunately the Baron's card can be looted from his room, but it's not so forgiving about most expendable NPCs. Then you can never get the achievement for collecting all the cards.
Isn’t there a card you can only get by beating a guy at the start of the game? I think you meet him shortly after completing the White Orchard tutorial.

Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem: the Mantorok rune, if you don't backtrack you won't get it. Not required to beat the game, but its recover spell is very helpful healing health & sanity at the same time.

This reminds me of the Eternal Sphere (Aeterna) in Star Ocean 2: The Second Story. First, keep this sword you get from a tournament relatively early in the game (after losing the final round as Claude to Dias from Gamgee). Craft it into a one-of-a-kind Minus Sword with Mythril. Then craft the Minus Sword with Mythril AGAIN to create the Eternal Sphere, the strongest Claude-only sword in the game.
I can't take a sword serious that's called "Geschäft", even though it might mean serious business.

Plus I love how evil guy even makes a snide comment about men and swords stuck in rocks lol he also shows disappointment in geralt if you stop for the treasure chests as well. All in all a very creepy mission and much scarier than the wimpy wild hunt.
An interesting one: In the free Steam game Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, there's a chest you can only open if you haven't opened any others. It shows up about 1/3 of the way in or so, so getting it without any upgrades is no easy feat. But, unless you pull it off, you'll miss out on easily the best weapin in the game, as you won't be able to get enough weapon upgrades.

Two-Handed Sword in "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem"
You have to rescue a monk while playing as zombie-in-the-making Anthony, and he'd give you a sword that would make all three chapters in Oublié Cathedral significantly easier. However, it's easy to miss in ADDITION to losing it forever if you do.
So happy that this was a normal list feature and not just a voice over.
That last Fallout 3 bobblehead being lost was my greatest regret.
The Fists of Randagulf in Morrowind, super cool powerful a gauntlets that are hidden in Ilunibi in the room you cursed with Corprus. They are hidden BEHIND a trough, extremely easy to miss.
If you play a paladin in the Shadows of Undrentide campaign for Neverwinter Nights then the elven tomb at the very beginning has a Holy Avenger in it behind the puzzle you get access to for helping the elven ghost. So, if you're playing a paladin in that campaign you get one of the most powerful non-artifact weapons in the game somewhere between 3rd and 6th level.
Not an item, but an entire ending. When you fight the optional horde of Emil clones near the end of Nier Automata, one of the 26 endings - Ending Y - can only be gotten by letting them self destruct at the end of the fight. When you beat the Emil clones, you never get another chance to fight them even if you use Chapter Select to jump back earlier in the game, so if you miss out, it's gone forever.
Unless they patched it or something, you could replay "Magicians for Sport" and get it, as seen in All the Shinies playthrough, episode 227.
On the handheld port of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, there's only one chance at getting a health upgrade. If you die inside the challenge, you get booted out then locked out. Meaning no true ending of the game. You needed all nine health upgrades to get the water sword to fight the Dahaka. Miss an upgrade then no water sword and no true ending.

Oblivion, Shivering Isles- there's a point where you fight a shadow double of yourself in a creepy room with a shallow reflecting pool covering most of the floor. If your double's body lands in the water and is covered by it, you can't actually select it to loot it, and miss Shadowrend, my personal favorite sword in the DLC (or axe, apparently it will be an axe or sword to match your character's skills). First time I played it this happened and I assumed the body was meant to be unlootable anyway like a phantom illusion or something, until I stumbled across spoilers mentioning it existed and added it via the cheat console. (At least TES games always have one of those, lets you fix so many little things! I twitch a bit in games that don't let me fix their little mistakes with a quick command or two).
If my memory serves me correctly, it's possible to miss the BFG of all things in the DOOM 3 add-on Resurrection of Evil.
Unlike the Super Shotgun earlier in the game (which is on display in an office) the BFG is hidden under some stairs.
If you're racing through the game and don't hunt for secrets then you will find it that much harder to defeat Hell's demons.
I’m surprised that after so many games came back for this, yet Baldur’s Gate didn’t. There’s three times missable set of “armor” that you need to collect across 2.5 whole games. It’s extremely powerful, has special effects, and- actually, I’ll just say it. It’s Power Armor from Fallout.
