I built a model of that car when I was in 8th grade. Bitchin ride and rare. Thanks for sharing. I started as a Mopar kid and ended up a Ford guy but I truly love all cars.
(in my best Homer Simpson voice) "Ooooh! Super Beeeeeeeeee!" Steve Price has one of the coolest mom's ever! A woman who drove with a Fury! LOL - EPIC! Gotta give a Wow for his mom. And two Wows for the car! I love the Super Bees. Even if this Super Bee had been rat-rodded out, or Post Apocalyptia Mad Max'd, I'd still be in love with it.
What a treat to see such a rare beauty. 1 of 9? God bless him for keeping it stock and what a wonderful back story, his drag racing mom is his inspiration. Had to have been the coolest mom in the neighborhood! Thanks again Loi! Splendid video sir. Two thumbs up and a salute! :)
I remember when Julius put that Super bee together in his shop in North hollywood in the 90s . My Dad used to take me there every week to look at Julius's cars
Hi David, Happy to read this car brings back memories of Julius' car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many cars on this Channel you enjoy! Please Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this TH-cam Channel, Lou
I had a 71 Charger Super Bee. 383 automatic. Bought it new. Had the Air Grabber hood. Foolishly sold it when the freeze plugs rusted through. I miss it every day. Also miss the 68 Road Runner I traded in on it. I was so stupid!
This car is fine. Luv color too. Keep as original as can. Almost looks greenish. God bless ur mom. Always luved dragracing too. But just watched. My heroess was Cha Cha - Shirley Muldowny & her English Leather pink rail!
Hi Joyce Meadows, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and glad to read you enjoy drag racing. Hope you see many more cars you'll enjoy on this Channel, Lou
heartwarming story! .. I always learn something from these videos - never knew about the Super Bee only tail lights - I live in Texas and have always wanted to bring my 71 Glacial Blue metallic Town & Country wagon. to Carlisle but have never been able to do so 70 and 71 were great years at Chrysler Corporation
Hi Kyle, I'm learning all the time from the Care Takers of the cars and I find that be be so fun learning something new about a topic I enjoy, "Cars" :-) Lou
Nice Lou! Bless his heart he just loves that car! Really neat! I love that hood scoop! A real different interior too the hounds tooth pattern not what expected. I bet that car will really scat!! Sounds nice there on the back end. Thanks for sharing Lou!
This Charger '71 is gorgeous, definitely I like it more the Super Bee than the R/T. I didn't pay much attention to the '71 new body, as the 68-70 model is the most famous by far, but after looking it with more detail, I really like this car. Still I can't believe that the ugly '75 model carries the Charger name... And very nice history, you showed a truly mopar family.
His mom is right Mopar or no car and that car is bad ass I'm not a big 71 Super Bee fan I like the 69/70's better but that car is sweet love the color the look the engine the trans just everything about it is awesome!! plus he's Canadian and so am I and from the same province so that's another awesome thing
My ‘13 Ram 1500 is the same color I believe. Ram may have only offered it that year and I factory ordered it. They were calling it Black Gold at the time. The more sunlight that hits it the greener it gets. Low light conditions it looks brown. At night it comes out as black.
Okay, so I'm not weird that I often have dreams where I'm in my old 1970 Dodge Super Bee... It's not the main focus of the dream, but it's always somehow a part of it...

Lou every Mopar guy wants a hemi car 383 are cool but they are basic and the 440 came in many of the cars but the Hemi is the Creme de la creme there is nothing better and just the look of the Hemi under the hood makes people go crazy LOL!
Wowwy rare somebuiscuit there. Nice choice of car to show us. I do wish the r/t tail lights were on the superbee. I believe it was called a scarf stripe, another nice option from mopar. Mopars are beautiful compared to the fjords and dime a dozen chebies
Lou Costabile Well... it is a Charger. The ‘81 L Car was also called Charger. I just meant that Chrysler used “W” in the VIN, which denotes Coronet. And Lou... I must admit. I’m a little biased as I own a ‘70 XS29V0G. The ‘71 to ‘74 versions are cool in their own right.

Advertised horsepower of the 426 hemi was 425, but these were fake gross dyno figures. With muffler, air cleaner, and belts, the real horsepower installed in the car was only 350 net....staring in 1972 all Dodge parts catalog listed the real horsepower at 350...any new Dodge Charger with common 5.7 V8 puts out more at 375 net...LOL....

..that pre covid handshake to kick things off :) Hey! Interesting note: At 8:45, that am/fm stereo was made in Canada! I parted out my old '71 Satellite long ago, but a few items I had for awhile. About 15 yrs ago I sold the tuner on eBay & yup..made in Canada. Chrysler Corp. was big in Canada, in fact their marine division and every 340 V8 was made there, among other things.
13:26! His mum in the '70 Fury!! Smart lady! ..I have been to a TON of car shows & have never seen a C body..anything..at a show! My rat rod '70 Fury Gran Coupe did get to be in a small town show, this past summer..thankfully the scamdemic is sparse where I live, enabling the show to go on.

Hi R8cer Ex, Happy to read your wonderful comment :-) Thank you for the kind words on the story, the car, and the video, Lou

Same color as my 1st two wheeled bicycle. Love it.
Nice :-)
The very COOLEST sleek car I've ever seen 🎸
High praise :-)
They need to bring back those open and close hood scoops 😍
That's a good idea.
Most new hood scoops are fake but dodge still makes real ones but relies mostly on those intake headlights
What an exceptional car Lou. It found the right owner to take care of it. Mom raised him right! Thanks for sharing.

One of 30 built.... I have a 1/64 model of the 383 Charger...
Cool Model you have there :-)
If you want to see pics of my collection just friend me on Facebook.. I have shared some photos of my collection on my Facebook page...
I always thought these were basically 2 door Coronet’s. The “W” in the VIN verifies it.
Hmmm, not sure. Hopefully a Viewer with knowledge can share.
Lou Costabile
Well... it is a Charger.
Sweet :)
