This might have been your best episode Lou. This was THE car that started me as a car nut when I was 6 years old and a bright orange '69 Charger with 01 on the welded doors and the Stars and Bars on the roof was flying though the TV set! But what a lovely family to boot! Great stories, great people, and the most iconic of all the classic muscle cars for the 60s-70s. You really hit a homerun with this one! Thank you and thanks to Harley and his great family!
This vintage of Charger is so iconic - it is one of the best looking cars EVER (and I don't much care for MOPAR products). That color looks a lot like what the Turbine cars were painted. Very iconic car that is so much nicer than the garbage Charger that preceded it. I was a 6 year old when my Dad would meet up with his friends in his 1968 Ford Torino GT fastback (gulfstream aqua with black c-stripe). His friends had a 1967 Firebird and one had a 1969 Charger in a dark red/maroon color. Another had a 1969 Silver Cutlass 442. I was so lucky to be surrounded by automotive royalty! There’s one episode of Mannix, where Joe has a tan on white 69 charger RT exactly like it. I think it was a pilot car that was actually used in some Dodge charger commercials which we can find here on yt.
I saw a Charger identical to this at the Good Guy's car show in Orlando, Florida, in 99 or 2000 for sale for 45 thousand. If I only knew what kind of crazy prices I would have bought it because I had the cash.
Yeah in my family it’s always been, MOPAR OR NO CAR! I now have a new Ram 1500 Limited 5.7 Hemi an even newer Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, unless I had that beautiful Charger, which is highly unlikely. lol
I worked at a Buick dealership in 1972 when I was 17. Someone traded in a 1969 Dodge Charger in orange with an automatic transmission and a 383 - 2 barrel.
