Dress watches you gotta see - Islander 36mm Manhasset is back in 3 awesome colors!

- We had a hit on our hands when we released the Manhasset last year. It was an instant success, being a 36mm case, negative endlink and amazing price, it was tagged the Go Anywhere Do Anything (GADA) of the Islander collection.
The Manhasset dress watch is back today, and we've added three amazing colors. First, there is the deep burgundy sunburst. If you are a fan of the original ISL-66 or ISL-92, this dial shares the same color. If you want some mystery, check out the green Mother-of-Pearl dial. It changes hue when you move the watch, and looks like you are staring into a green sea of mystery. Last, our ISL-52 pink color live on in this Manhasset - sure to be enjoyed by males, females, whoever! The pink pops, and will look awesome on all people.

The green MoP is gorgeous, but I think I’m going to go with the burgundy. The dial is just the right shade, the numbers stand out more, and I love that lume.

I just ordered the green. After years of collecting, I'm beginning to appreciate the smaller case sizes. But more importantly, the 43mm lug to lug makes the watch so much more comfortable.

The burgundy dial is fire. The green mop is interesting but I think black mop would be beautiful. Any plans on using a different movement to slim the thickness a little?

After seeing these watches in person at Windup Chicago I would say your search for a modern Explorer inspired watch can end right here. Very well executed and versatile. Sized for modest wrists but they wear with enough presence for some larger wrists too.
Theae look great Mark. Would love to see more burgundy dials. Preferably on a larger 39 -40mm size with a date at the 6.
This one with with out numerals and triangle and no round logo was this perfect.

What a great case. Simple and refined. I can't decide which bracelet I like best, they're both a killer match for the case. I'd love to see the Manhasset with traditional baton/stick hands, like on the Brookville.
I have the rose gold manhasset and absolutely love it.
I never thought I would consider buying the same watch in multiple colors, but all three of these colors are very tempting.

@@Noah-yw6uv The bracelet is great, the clasp is just alright. I'm considering getting a better clasp, but haven't been able to find anything at 16mm.
I really like it, though, and I wear it fairly often. It's my most worn watch after my daily (citizen promaster tough) and my beater (casio duro)

Historically in the West, pink was masculine, while blue, the color for the Virgin Mary, was feminine.

Always enjoy your videos! I was wondering this morning if there has ever been a study done on which dial layouts allow for the fastest reading of the time. I have a couple 3,6,9 dial watches and I always feel like I can process and retain the time much more quickly on them. No numerals feels like not enough while all numerals feels like too much information. I don't intend to only have Exploreresque dials in my life or anything, but it's something I've noticed.

They look cool and 36 mm depending on the lug distance doesnt look small .Its all an optical illusion at the end of the day.I personally am way too ugly to get away with pink but a young guy with a bit of flare could easily carry one off these days.Grey hair and dentures and a crooked nose will not work at all.Stick with maroon.

My grandpas favorite color was burgundy. Looks like I’m buying another watch. Recently picked up the ISL-204 and it’s become my favorite watch, specs and price are on point.

I own a cream dial. You are underselling that oyster bracelet. It’s fantastic. Frankly, I would skip the see through caseback. It adds thickness and do we really need to see an undecorated NH35? Overall, great watch!

That MOP green is fantastic Marc, just a pity it's on an homage watch. And no date. Oh well.
Marc, this is really a nice watch. But two things I don't like which keep me from buying: the stick indexes on the black dial "disappear" in directional light and the exhibition caseback makes the watch unnecessarily thick. How about applying baton indexes filled with lume and getting rid off the exhibition caseback reducing the height by 1mm? Do we really need to see the NH36?
5:40 and the Fleiger, yes? With the matching leather strap?
The headline of this video made me see this for the first time as a dress watch rather than as an Explorer-type GADA watch. I had wondered why you don't make this in a larger version as well, but now I see you might think of the Brookville as covering that territory.
No matter what category you put it in, it's a beautiful watch, though too small for me. And these new dial colors are awesome.

Hi Marc, wondering if you were inspired by the shade of burgundy colour from the Timex Marlin automatic you reviewed several years ago? I remember you felt that it was rare for makers to nail a burgundy colour but you said that timex had nailed it

Hi Mark. How can we be sure a watch like the Deep Blue Diver ACTUALLY HAS 200M water resistance? I know the more expensive brands like Rolex, etc. are professionally certified/tested, but that costs $$ and this watch is assembled in China. They actually claim 300M on some of their watches. It seems to me that we're taking their word for it. They can print anything on the dial. Any thoughts?

What ever happened to the older Islander dress watches? A number of older models from a couple years ago aren't even on the site. Do you think you'd ever bring those back, or at least do some of the dial textures and stuff you did with those on the Brookvilles or something?
I do not think we will bring those back; you are talking about 32, 33 and its other versions.
