I want to appreciate how inexpensive these prices are considering the R/D, design, and operations that go into making these. Especially considering that similar Tissots, Hamiltons, Seiko can be >$500, and I assume they have considerably more resources at their disposal. I'll be honest that I voted for a more Burgundy red, but seeing this in the video is stunning. Congratulations again, Marc!
There is no R/D, they are knocking off other manufacturers designs.

Islanders were born from an existing aftermarket infrastructure when Seiko decided to screw everyone over, but at this point Marc and his crew are researching and selecting materials, colorways, coordinating the creation of prototypes which are then tested for quality, and adjusted before final forms take place. That's the very definition of research and development.
@@ErikL727 You are right, in addition to running a successful full time job, Marc is engineering each of these hundreds of watches from scratch, down to the littlest detail. And after all of that work, selling them at a profit for $300.
Nope, lots of companies out these have a stockroom of already developed designs based on other companies designs. Look around, it’s not hard to find them and produce your own, that is why there is an endless number of micro brands popping up. All of these are using the same Chinese manufacturing. Yes, he picks the dial colors and has a third party company do the QC testing once produced, but don’t be fooled into thinking all these micro brands are spending all this time in R&D.
By the way, I am not saying that these are not decent watches for a decent price, they are. Let’s just be honest how they come about and why they are so inexpensive. It is just another micro brand with disposable watches.
Go to the major watch shows and talk to the vendors, in a few months you too can have a micro brand.
@@scott9739 so in your own admission, your claim that there is “no R&D” is in itself, complete hor$eshit. None of what you’ve posted here is news to any of us. We’re quite well aware of how watches get manufactured from concept to steel. You came to try and drop a deuce on Marc, and now you’re backpedaling that unless he has developed every part of the watch, there is “no R&D.” Again, complete 💩.
@@ErikL727 You are sadly mistaken. I am simply replying to the comment above that was overly optimistic about how much R&D went into these watches. Marc never claimed that, it was a post. I have never once backpedaled, it is minimal, like I have said all along. That is a fact, so if you think I am dropping a deuce on Marc, you are mistaken, It is a deuce of knowledge and I’ll drop those all day long on you. Knowing is half the battle. -GI Joe.

Looks more pinkish than salmon to me. I recalled SARB037 ain't that pink. Maybe it's me. I think i gonna skip this one. I prefer a more salmon dial or less pinkish and a No-date.
I like the date, however, I do agree it seems to lean more towards pink than I was hoping for. Oh well, I really didn’t need another watch anyway.

Hey Marc, I’ve really learned a lot from your “how to” series, maybe you could do a short video on cleaning watches. Dos and don’ts, ultrasonic cleaners for bracelets etc. I’m finding lots of conflicting answers out there.

I just ordered this. I had a SARB like this ages ago. I sold it for a small fortune.
Needless to say, I cannot wait to get it. That said, I would love this with applied Roman Numerals. It would be perfect-especially in 41mm.
Like this sports watch ISL line thin, fits t shirt as a shirt or even a hoodie. Hope there be more colors, could even do a GS white birch homage with that thin Miyota. Nice to see some watches with Miyota instead SII NH family.

You're right. It doesn't "need" 100 meter water resistance, but I require it because at the end of the day when I wash my hands, I wash my watch. I'm just that weird. But, we wash our hands and clothes, so why shouldn't we put our watches in the sink when we wash our hands, then give it a good rinse? They come out shiny and the day's gunk isn't on it.

The smoother 9015, AR, both sapphires, jubilee, & fair price make a SARB a poor second (have both black & white SARBs). BTW have never even seen a salmon SARB037.
