- This is an updated version on a video we did 7 years ago on how to tie Kelly's Goober Midge. This fly has become our go-to adult midge imitation on just about every piece of water we take it and is extremely easy to tie.

Size 18 has been a savior on grayling for me here in Sweden, especially in the autumn when its pretty cold outside, great fly!
My favorite tip in this video is how you use the way the hackle is tied off to create the antenna. Cool tip!
Nice. A griffiths gnat with a size large hackle seems to be about the best dry fly I have found for arctic grayling in interior Alaska. I will have to tie a few of these up and give them a go. Thanks for your making your videos and sharing all your knowledge.
Nice tie Kelly. Always enjoy your in-depth explanations and the antenna tie-off is something I will endeavor to replicate. Thanks from down-under in NZ.
Awesome work Kelly thank you for sharing Happy days on the water to all 👍🇺🇸
The Vermonter
I love this fly, it slays!!
Nice work kelly👍👍
Please do a close-up video tour of the shelves, pictures and trinkets behind you! :)
Nice flies, love your videos.
I dig the name
Hi Kelly. Great little fly as always. Have you ever thought of or tried mixing some pearl Spectra/Prism dubbing in with the Superfine for some more reflection?
Incredible as always. Your technique and control are stunning! Thanks again for taking your time to share with us all!!! Keep them coming!
I have learned from you so much about dubbing. You stated spinning your dubbing clock wise! Why? Does it make a difference if you spin it that way or counter clockwise, as long as you do same direction all the time.
What sizes do you like to have in your box?
18-22
Are you still doing the countess on the fly
What about setting the camera over your other shoulder? Jeremy might yell less
We tried it, you cant see the materials getting set. I got another camera just for that occasion now... should be less yelling! -Jeremy
What size was this...can't read the package?
We do them in 18 and 20, I might have done this one on a 16 to see it better?? Kelly
And...you didn't pull that hackle off to the side.....or "draw it back".... you just caught a couple for that antenae.
