In case anyone is wondering why they changed the voicelines: In the first 4 games, the lines were done by people working on the game, since they were only a word or two and wouldn't required many retakes/professional experience. For Dual Destinies and Spirit Of Justice, they hired proper voice actors for the animated scenes, and updated the voice clips to match the new actors.

Also, on the subject of Payne, while I know he is the younger brother, his voice sounds too strong, making him sound more on the level of a rival. The voice of a Payne should be silly and pathetic, if you ask me, show us that the guy is just a warm-up, who is really less of a threat than his own witnesses. The voices of the new characters are really good though, and I really love Athena's energetic voice, practically a female version of classic!Apollo, and Blackquill is also really intimidating, especially with the "SILENCE!"

So, who's getting Spirit of Justice? :D In my honest opinion, Dual Destinies could have been better, but after playing the demo to SoJ, I got my hopes back into the series again.
I've finished Spirit Of Justice, and I'm so glad I did. I especially loved how the final case went. Not to spoil anything for anyone, but it was like two and a half cases in one.
Ah, so it's kinda like how DD was with its last 2 cases. Also with how the internet is, I'm glad you didn't comment straight up spoilers so thanks haha! Albhi ("I'll be" lol I'm horrible) buying my copy sometime later this week. But it's nice to know that there's a strong positive reception so far.

phoenix, apollo : both versions are okay...but japanese sounds slightly better
athena : japanese version is so much better
gaspen payne : both versions depict very well his stuck-up character
blackquill : english version sounds as good as or better than japanese one

Even I can do a better Klavier's AA4 Objection impression. His DD Objection sounds straight up bad... To be fair, nothing beat the DS era game objection; Phoenix's are different but okay, Apollo's still has his "energetic aura" and quite close to his AA4 voice; And even though Edgeworth got the end of the stick, it's not THAT bad. But Klavier's is Calisto Yew level. Even AAI2 fandub sounds way WAY better despite not being a professional actors
