Here's what I like about my glock19 and 23. They are reliable and accurate. But what I was really impressed with was the ease of carry. Were I'm from the summers can be brutal, with the heat and humidity. And even at night you can see the humidity at night under street lights. The glock allows me to carry comfortably in any season. And being lighter than metal handguns it's the easiest to carry and not cause constant adjustment of clothing due to the weight of the weapon. And for 15 rounds in the 19 and 14 in the magazines. Are glocks the perfect handguns. For my needs, it's good for me. Would I recommend them. I would tell anyone to take a look at them. And for a long time I dismissed them. But I got to handle one and it felt good in my hand. But it was the weight that impressed me. But it.was.years later before I bought on. And that was a glock 19. And a couple of years later I got a glock 23. And I'm not going to get in the caliber debate. But just as it gets hot in the summer here, it can get cold in the winter and the.40cal has a little better chance if penetrateing heavy clothing. And with a barrel change I can fire 9mm. I actually don't think of myself as a glock fanboy. And to be honest my Browing highpower and my sig 220 are my favorite handguns. But in a fecal matter hitting the wind rotation device, I would be well served and protected with my glock19 or 23.

I say thank goodness! Great comparison Sootch! Glock has rested on their basic design for 40yrs. I never liked the feel of them personally. However the PSA Daggers frame, slide and huge grip redesign are a big improvement. I wanted to try a red dot on a pistol, so I ordered a PSA Dagger, full FDE, with the RMR optics cut, threaded barrel, suppressor sights, Improved grip and slide for $359.00! My 1st "Glock" is Made in USA by Palmetto, lifetime warranty. Shows what those Austrians have gotten away with for 40yrs! I read that the P80 frames are changed to the 1911's- 18 degree grip angle over the 22 degree Glock angle. I hope the dagger is also. Thanks Sootch, Be a good neighbor, be strong, and be of good character! Long live the republic! :)

For the dagger, new/inexperienced owners were the priority when it came to most of the feature decisions and especially for the trigger. They went for a semi flat trigger and figured experienced owners would go with their favorite drop ins

I have several Glocks and even I would say they aren't "perfect". But plain jane, no upgrades out of the box they are good to go and reliable. Breaking in the trigger will take time and maybe changing out the sights is all you really have to do.
All my Glocks shoot anything while I've had friends who have Gucci guns and cheaper ones that have issues, albeit minor and usually just when using reloads or cheaper ammo. I've had no failures on mine since owning them the last 2 plus years.
Plus the compatibility of Glock magazines and using them in PCCs is great and the aftermarket for Glocks is plentiful, more than any other.

The best thing about glock are the interchangeable mags and being able to use one holster that 3 different size glocks could fit in it. I have had and have a lot of them and never a hiccup with any of them. The sights get changed, connector, smooth trigger put in. Extended slide stop and polished internals. With that said my Walther and Caniks need nothing and have better triggers.

I bought my 5 Caniks for under $300 when they first came out and picked up 20 mags. I never like glock grip angle so I never purchased Glock. The Sig P226 (1984) has been used worldwide and has an excellent track record like Glock.

First thing I noticed was the lack of the Shadow Systems MR920. I will say that I very much like my Glock 19, I do believe that the MR920 is a better pistol based on the Glock platform. Given the fact that most people would agree that Glocks greatly benefit from both trigger and site upgrades, the MR920 is not really any more expensive. Also the Shadow Systems optics mounting system is much better than the MOS system of the Glock. I will reiterate that I DO like my Glock pistols, but I feel the MR920 is a more refined option.

Polymer 80 was a huge factor that changed the entire glock market. Although custom glock parts were being produced, polymer 80 single handled boosted demand for glock parts by many times. Slides, barrels, and parts of all brands are being purchased to build pistol kits. This brought glocks modularity and market support up to the level of what AR's are today.

I know this is about clones, but My favorite pistol is the FN509 MRD. I think FN is often times overlooked despite that they were ahead of their time. Features like being made in the USA, cold hammer forged barrels, the optics system, ambi controls, Steel sights, Steel guide rods, polished feed ramps, steel mags, good triggers, and priced less than a glock, should put them in the top list for everyone. I’m glad you have reviewed them but I hope to see more as well as comparisons.

I like my STK100, a lot. Not a clone IMHO but "inspired by". I immediately got Glock mags for it, but the real cool thing is the MBX Defender Series Carry Magazines. They are steel mags. I just dig the idea of the metal framed STK100 with steel mags, and they are simply excellent mags. Pricey? Yup. But worth it. I have never seen a video review of those magazines (Hint). I find the newer Smith and Wesson M2.0’s to be superior in many ways. Steel mags, steel guide rod, steel sights, MUCH better grip, better grip angle, just as reliable, much better looking, better finish on slide, trigger just as good if not better. I don’t understand the Glock hype and I never will. They are very reliable, but so are a few other brands of pistols. Plus they are so dang hideous. If I can buy a product as good or better that is made in America by an American company I will choose that item every time.

I currently own 2 Glocks. One is the single stack 48. The 48 to me feels the best! I have owned probably ten or so Glocks since 1996. Various models and calibers. Carried one on duty for years. I have a S&W 2.0 compact and it feels so much better than most Glocks. The 48 gives the 2.0 a close run. Just because I have and have had multiple Glocks doesn’t mean I am a fanboy either. Sadly I have never shot my Smith. I am quite sure it would be as reliable as the curtain rod makers design.

You are absolutely right on all counts. I would even go so far as to say a Glocks reputation exceeds it's performance. I own Glocks, S&W M&Ps and many other comps, and Glock is certainly no more reliable than any of them. For example, when I compare my Gen 5 Glock 17 to my CZ P10F, which are direct competitors of one another, I can confidently state the CZ has a smoother action, better sights, considerably better trigger, better ergonomics and cheaper price. I still love my Glocks though...maybe it's a disease or Jedi mind trick! LOL

We tested just about everything out there head to head and the S&W M&P 2.0 did everything and it did it better. Most of the time for less money than competitors (Glock, SIG, HK, etc.) More accurate and zero malfunction reliability. I own 2 Glocks and have nothing against them but the M&P is just better without the funky Euro grip angle

Lol exact opposite here. Absolute glock lover until I got a 365. Comes with night sights and I don’t need 3 different after market purchases to make it functioning for ccw.
That being said, if you love to customize and tinker with firearms glock is the perfect platform. Stipple jobs, grinding down certain sections of the frame, adding grip tape.

    • @mkII.
      @mkII. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@user-ll9nu8fb7j I bought 3 guns for ccw at the same time in a buying spree. g26/p365/czpo1
I only got the cz cause i wanted to own a cz if im being honest, so the fight was really against the p365 and the g26. The glock won because of its ease of use, 1 handed firing was easier. Mag dumps easier weak handed. It can except bigger mags and effectively make itself a larger gun. The sights are really its only downside, and thats easily fixed. It came down to just how well the gun works for me. The p365 on the other hand was slightly harder to manipulate and had far more recoil (i have large hands) than the g26 so at the end of the day the glock just won on pure merits of use. I can mag dump the g26 in either hand on target with almost no training. I dont dislike the p365 but i had the manual safety model which was no good for ccw and it got sold. I might end up picking one up again, but i dont like the no safety at all model either. I have gotten used to trigger blade safeties and i just rely on them now for peace of mind.

I am an old fart. I never was a Glock "fan boy". However, I bought a G19 a while back because it is getting weird out there. I stopped carrying my J-frame Smith 38. Yes, you can reload a revolver? Fast? Not so much, nothing like you can with a magazine fed gun. At the time, a lot of these guns were not out there AND Glock had developed a fantastic reliability record. I might get a different gun some time, but I like my Glock. I carry it every day and a spare mag. It shoots accurately and never a malfunction when I practice. I do have 1911s, semi-autos from the 89s, 90s, lots of single and double wheel guns, etc. I carry the Glock. It is paid for and works and will out-last me I think. Making a change to a semi-auto for older guys is an emotional event. When you get old you like what you like. Reality drove this change. Glocks are ugly but it is not about looks. It is about staying alive, really.

I have a bunch of the KCI magazines. The 15 round ones always work for me. The 33 round mags are junk though. They use two 15 round steel inserts inside of the 33 round mag and the follower and spring will catch on the seam where the two short pieces of steel meet, because they don't meet up perfectly and they're not welded together. The 15 round mags from KCI use a single piece of steel for the insert so there is nothing for the follower to catch on so it works perfectly.

Glock perfection has been perfected by Walther GmbH, H&K, CZ, Sig Sauer, Beretta, Steyr, Canik, and many others. Glock is not "the one and only," it has plenty of top quality competition. People stuck loyal to Glock are not enjoying the new platforms developed on this golden era of the 9mm wonder pistols, which, in addition, ammo manufacturers have noticeably improved the performance of the caliber.

well Sootch, thanks for another great video. if I had to pick one, I would choose the PSA Dagger. I like that type of trigger. my issue handgun is a S&W M&P 40. and I really like it alot. although I am a bit of a sissy and wish it had the external safety and mag safety, a little something to engage if someone got control of my gun. plus , you would not cock a M1911 and carry it without the safety engaged. but you do on a glock and other types with the same light trigger pull . oh well that is just me. but that Dagger looks like the best of the bunch, and like you said in the video about it you don't notice the trigger unless you think about it. but I really think S&W hit on something with the M&P.

This is just my own visual interpretation, but in the cut-scenes, the Zev model seems to recoil less and return to battery, and gets back on target significantly faster than the others. So, assuming the same ammo was used in all of them, it looks like the slide weight and recoil spring strength are balanced nicely.

While I have many pistols from many different manufacturers I've never owned a Glock. I've shot a couple, but every time I've picked one up I felt like I was holding a brick. I'm one of the folks that just can't stand that blocky feel of its design. So of the other three you showed I really like the PSA Dagger for the ergonomics and price point. What I love about Glock is the simplicity and the popularity which makes it easy to get parts and to modify. If the PSA Dagger is truly Glock compatible I may consider getting one and of course the first thing I'd do is upgrade the trigger. I am not a Glock hater by any means and I know they are very good reliable guns, I just wish they'd consider redesigning the grip to make it more ergonomic. Thanks for showing the options to the very popular and reliable Glock 19. Put a muzzle on that dog.
