I love it. I dont care what all the gun snobs out there say about PSA.. they really make a great product and the prices are incredibly fair. Things dont have to be disgustingly over priced to be good.
Palmetto is known for price gouging and taking advantage of customers same as CTD. What makes you think they’re using quality materials for these guns?
@@mapled3135 in what world is $300 price gouging? PSA is one of the few American manufacturers with available guns right now, and that includes their ARs. I own 0 PSA products but it doesn’t take a genius to see that they’re basically giving guns away (per their mission statement. )
And like their mission statement says they want to arm as many Americans as possible with quality working guns And when the shtf it's going to be hard to find a fan cleaner then
Should i ever see them for MSRP or below i'll just buy 10 of them. Even if i just bury them for shtf, they'd still make a great inflation hedge investment. And if i can have a reliable gun in every room of the house and two in the shower, i'm basically an action hero. At lest so i was told...
PSA had these in stock for $300 earlier this week, they just sold out really fast. As an alternative to both, the Canik TP9 Elite SC is fairly available and comes in less than $400, so that may be a good option for someone wanting something G19-ish but wants to save money. Really the main thing I get more and more recently is that Glock needs to get their act together and improve/innovate again. They've been making the same gun for 3+ decades now and the fact is that someone can make the same-ish handgun for half the MSRP. I might add that this is PSA's first polymer handgun so the fact that we can even talk about it vs the Glock is insane. Why DID it take Glock 5 gens to add slide serrations? Why in the world are they still using plastic guiderods and sights? There are still a ton of good reasons to buy a Glock (heck I'd probably tell someone to buy a used gen 3 before buying a dagger) but I honestly think if they don't start stepping up to the plate a bit more they might lose a lot of market share in the next decade. It's not 1995 anymore. Lots of companies make good polymer handguns.
@Robert Wallace they're overpriced for what they offer now. Plenty of guns are just as reliable now and don't have a dog shit trigger or sights and have more features
Just purchased mine yesterday and I've been watching videos waiting for it to arrive. My total including shipping, tax and the gun itself was right at the $400 mark. And with that, I got an aesthetically pleasing clone. With a cerakote sniper green finish sharp looking window milled slide RMR rear sight w/ cover plate & threaded barrel Stainless steel guide rod Suppressor height sights (ugly day sights) "Extreme carry cuts" (10) 15 round p-mags And a carry bag Imo that's one hell of a deal
@kasperdagreat1 what do you mean "do you think it's worth it?". Any gun that functions well and comes with 10 mags for less than 400 total is a steal and you'll never find anything better. Those psa deals are literally impossible to beat anywhere else in the country, probably for years to come.
Thanks for the review. You're one of the few reviewers still worth consistently watching imo. You present the information in an interesting form, add in B-roll and shooting to help break up the pace. I find myself watching videos on guns I have ZERO interest in just because I enjoy your style
Availability: Check Palmetto inventory at 4PM ET. That is when they put them on the web site. After I learned that I picked up mine on the first try. Mine has the trigger pin walking out. The trigger pin walks out to the right. I have a RMA from Palmetto already. Mine does not shoot to where the sights are. 3" right and 3" high at 15 yards from a solid rest. Tested with S&B, Federal, and Wolf 115 gr FMJ and IMI 115 gr hollow points. Accuracy: Not as good as my Glock Gen2 17 from 1989. Averaged 3 to 4 inches at 15 yards. My handloads printed 2 1/2 inches. Best accuracy with factory was the IMI die cuts. That is good ammo. Highest velocity with good SDs according to my chrono of many self defense loads I have tried. I will be glad to update this info after I get the DGAR back from Palmetto.
I bought a $300 base Dagger model six weeks ago as a magazine-compatible companion pistol for my PC carbine. Since I am not a big fan of Glock's grip shape, plastic standard sights, or trigger safety bar, the Dagger checked all of my boxes for "something different" while using Glock magazines and being relatively inexpensive. I have been very pleasantly surprised at how well the Dagger suits me compared to a Glock 19.
If someone wanted their first gun, this is usually one of my first recommendations if they’re on a budget. Glock accessories are so available and inexpensive compared to the rest of the market. PSA has been doing good work. My dagger I’ve had over a year now with no issues or malfunctions
I got a blem with Docter cut for a red (green) dot for $300. In 2023 the trigger isn't bad, and once I got it zeroed it STACKS rounds in the target at 10 yds. The grip fits my hand better than a Glock, and the Dagger doesn't feel as slide heavy as a Glock. I'm very happy with mine, especially for the price.
Well 8 months later and they seem to be a big hit... still tough to find in stock but they are staying true to the msrp. I'm just past 1,000 rnds thru mine. I have the FDE with raised sights, threaded barrel and the Vortex Venom.. $399 free shipping and came with the PSA soft case. I Haven't had a single malfunction and love it more every time I shoot it. I wasn't a fan of the mag well cuts when I first got it, didn't like the look and thought it was excessive but I have to say , they don't affect my grip at all and they ARE the perfect size cutouts for grabbing the mag. I went into this gun as a bang around gun to shoot suppressed without any expectations of it replacing anything I already own. It is now in my lineup and when it's size is compatible with carrying it concealed with what I'm wearing I don't hesitate to carry it. I've been nothing but impressed with this gun regardless of price.
Got mine in ODG with the threaded barrel, 2X-height AmeriGlo sights and the Noblex cut around Easter for $364. I sat on the fence for about 10 minutes too long and missed the Venom-equipped version FOR THE SAME PRICE (crying emoji). With a $128 TruGlo Micro it's still under $500. It's only been out to the range TWO whole times, for a whopping 250 rd. count. The trigger is starting to bug me and my brother detests it; I know this little gun will shoot wonderfully once I replace it. Still shoots pretty well, but the take-up is heavy and just... weird. That's my only complaint, but considering how many people replace their factory "Perfection" triggers anyways...
Up until covid I worked at a metal stamping shop. We made a lot of AK receivers and PSA was one of the bigger companies that we contracted for. From my perspective, everything I touched, I looked at as if it was my personal and if it wasn't perfect (even if something was 0.0005 of an inch off I would scrap it. As far as 9s go, the company I worked for did not have a hand in this model. I'm sure it's a good quality piece, but we did have the contracts for the Sig P290 and P365 (9 & 45) receivers along with some internal pieces. I saved up for it and went to the "dark side". A lot of my friends and family prefer Glock over Sig, but this is what feels right to me for a carry.
What happened after covid? Any tips on getting into something with firearms? I've run my own handyman business for awhile but I very much am ready to get into the gun world at an official capacity.
I bought one about a month ago. Yes you can get them as other have said when they list them from 3:30-4pm est every day. I bought the carry cuts model in grey for $349 and it’s been great! I did the $.25 trigger job on the internals and it totally smoothed the trigger out. I also decided to buy a Ranger Proof shoe for it. After installing it I decided to take it back out and return it as the drop safety was completely inoperable. The pull with the trigger was awesome but I didn’t like the fact that it disabled the drop safety. I told myself that I wasn’t going to wrap up a bunch of money in upgrades on a $350 pistol that’s basically a nightstand/travel weapon and it’s getting a olight and that’s it. I have been happy with it after 500rds. Instead of making the dagger something it’s not by changing a bunch of parts, I decided to keep it and also buy a Canik Tp9sfx for a range/comp pistol. Bottom line is it’s a good pistol especially for the price tag and you can get it for $300-$350. There’s no need to buy pay $500 for this thing and not sure why you would.
I paid exactly 500 for it. It came with the cut slide and threaded barrel, as well as vortex venom. seemed like a good idea. It's with the FFL so we'll see.
@@garakward6118 i thought about getting that one in ranger green in the near future here, let me know how it shoots and handle and would you use it as a edc gun
@@danielmoua7724 I shot mine loved it. If still wouldn't use i as an EDC. My thinking around firearms is that there will always be lemons. Glock makes lemons. There are glocks leaving the factory that will not work. There are Daniel Defense and Bravo Company that are just not going to work. Every company will create duds. However the more expensive companies have higher denominators. 1/100000 glocks fail vs 1/1000 Daggers. For an every day carry gun the denominator matters, for a range/competition gun it just doesn't. If you really can't afford a higher priced gun, take it to the range. My understanding is if it's going to fail it will either be in first 100 rounds or in the thousands. So if you shoot your gun at the range and it likes your ammo and you don't run into any major problems it'll probably be good for you. Whatever you go with I hope it works and I hope it makes you happy.
@@Woodpusherpro basically polishing the metal parts of the trigger assemble and taking any sharp edges off of metal parts. Look up Glock trigger job here on YT and you will get a lot of examples. Easy cheap and fast way to get a smoother trigger

Scooped one myself and was impressed. Full size frame for me (large hands) and the compact frame for the misses. Ripped 250 rounds through it last weekend without issue. Not bad for $400.
i got mine as my first gun ever when i turned 21, i was super sketch about it cause it is a clone and the PSA slander but i said fuck it. 1,000 rounds later and had 2 malfunctions due to cheap ammo since then haven’t had ANY issues with mine i now carry mine and would trust it with my life.
“If you don’t like the MOS system, or dog hair in your Glock; you could always get rid of your dog….” Hilarious. I know what it’s like to have dog hair on literally everything.
As a dog trainer, I don't know what life is like without dog hair in literally everything including brand new items that are brought into the house. And also still finding dog hair 3 years after not having a dog literally within 1000 meters of the premises.
I have honestly found dog hair in my refrigerator! How the hell it got in there I'll never know! I've got two boxers, they are destructive M F'rs for sure.
My Catahoula has hair so sparse you can see her skin through it yet there’s white hair all over the damn house! I had hoped she’d be better about that than the Golden we used to have. No such luck!
I liked the MOS. Most people use that setup and have good luck. I prefer night sights and MAYBE a light. Anything more is just converting it to a home gun, but there are better home options (shotguns etc) so I had to move on from a RMR on a carry pistol, it has its uses maybe in competitions, but irons are more durable and time proven. I currently run a 19x, as a main pistol and have no regrets. I can still conceal if I need to, and I get the benefit of having a 17 grip. It's not preferred, but my god is it accurate and comfortable. AIWB has very little discomfort, but you get used to it. Overall I like the MOS system, but it's a useless feature for my preference.
luckily I have a palmetto state armory right down the road and can just have it shipped there for free. picked up the 10 15rd mag and carry bag for 350
I got a notification that right now you can get the PSA Dagger, 10x 15rd mags and a carry bag for like 349. That seems amazing if it is an "almost" glock clone.
Great review I got mine for $409 with a nice range bag , threaded barrel , mos dot cut w plate , supressor height steel night sights and 10 mags ( 5 -15rd & 5 /27 rd) and all the normal things you said. So for all that $409 I thought was a great deal. This was da of 9/5/2022.
A year later, I bought one and I think they've fixed some of the issues. I got my Dagger for about $250 by buying the slide/barrel and frame separately. . My version is in FDE and had a threaded gold barrel (not my favorite). It is optics-ready (RMR cut) and has suppressor height sights. It has been 100% reliable and it's ridiculously accurate. I anticipated a terrible trigger. What I got was a meh trigger that, honestly, is a little better than my older Glock triggers. Frankly, if I had paid 450-500 for this gun, I wouldn't be disappointed. For the 250 I paid, I'm more than happy. It won't be my EDC gun. I mainly bought it for fun.
I bought my dagger with 10 17 round mags with carry bag for 400. I then put a Herrington Arms compensator on it. With that, I did have to change the recoil spring to a 15lb spring I bought from NDZ Performance to cycle 115 grain ammo. Next I bought a 30 dollar light that is basically a China version of the Streamlight TLR-1 that goes for 160. It's a pretty good light for 30. Great for a cheap gun. I trust the Dagger so much, I used it for my shooting test when I went for my CCW. Solid gun that is well worth the money, especially if you can get a deal from PSA that they have all the time.
Out of all the pistols I own, I wish they all felt like the grip that is on my TX22, fits my big mitts like a glove, as you mention on you first shots video. Thanks for the unbiased reviews you and the Mrs. do! Greatly appreciated!
Completely agree. I think the TX22 is best overall deal on the gun market today; so much greatness in a gun that you are likely to shoot ALOT! I recommend them to everyone who will listen. As soon as I felt that grip, I knew I had scored an awesome gun.
Aug 2023. $339 with 10- 15rd mags and bag. So far, I've put about 150rds through it and got dialed in, but the trigger is not great. (and I've been carrying a Gen1 M&P Sheild for years) Anyway, it is an easy fix and I am happy with the purchase.
I got my dagger with the foxtrot light, lightening cut slide with rmr cut for 313.99. Had a 6 dollar coupon. And I just put my Sig M18 with billet trigger, wilson grip, and Sig Romeo pro to rest for a while. I love this gun for EDC. I can't wait until the fullsize frames come out
I see u took advantage of those great deals they have been running lately as well. I just got the bundle deal with the OD Green Dagger lower with a AR-15 stripped lower for $99. I also got the sw1 black rmr cut slide w/ DLC coated threaded barrel for $199 shipped. Those prices are so phenomenal I almost bought several.
The price and the fact I'm not really a glock guy this isn't something I'll be actively looking to buy but I like the direction they're going at PSA... Maybe they'll come out with a Gen 2 and change my mind on that one... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
I'm not a Glock guy, never owned one until I realized the Glock 19 was the most common. That meant in a SHTF scenario it would be the easiest to find (keeping your holster) as well as mags and of course ammo. Now I have one for each 72 hr kit I own and with my bugout bags.
@@SALTYCOMBATDIVER-ExInstructor It's all about building a system you have confidence in... I know this video is a year old but I just had to watch it again as I've been thinking of buying one . As usual, a very informative video. By the way FYI: PSA sells dagger out the door for $329 at the moment.
Time stamp: sept 2023. This same model can easily be had for less than 300 beans. I purchased one complete frame ("lower") for 75 to FFL(25 IN FFL fee) and a complete slide and 2 15rnd mags for 188 to my door. Ordered a 18 buick light from scamazon and its just gonna be the bedside bump in the night piece. I dont have Frankenstein hands but im also not a glock guy (glock ergos, cant stand them) so im giving this a try, already loving it
I like your mention of accuracy being hugely determined by ergonomics and overall contact points with a gun, and the mention of trigger pulls on a pistol vs rifle
2024 prices: I have in slightly less than $230 my Dagger bought and put together in 2023 ($75 for the frame delivered and transferred to my FFL, $130 for a Dagger slide (closeout deal), $9 for the Dagger recoil spring assy, $40 for the Aim barrel, $12 for a magpul mag). I'm lucky in that I hit a few sales with free shipping and was able to stop by Aim in person to pick up the barrel (saved on shipping) but overall at slightly less than half the price of a new Glock I'm happy with it.
The Palmetto state hack is that you buy the frame for $50, then buy your slide of choice when it goes on sale for $200... I've bought 4 Daggers at $250 a pop, threaded barrels, slide cuts, RMR cut, Suppressor height metal sights for half the price of a Glock... I actually sold my Glocks and now everyone in my family is getting a Dagger for Christmas this year. Where are you seeing Daggers for $500-$600?
A year ago last spring I paid $300 for a Canik TP9SF with one magazine. canik has a great trigger, good sights, feels good in the hand and runs flawlessly.
How much are additional magazines? Can you get Safariland ALS holsters for one? I'm not trying to be an ass, I legit want to have the conversation. I'm already drowning in Glock mags which are affordable and plentiful and honestly, if I can't get a good Safariland retention holster for something to go on my warbelt I kind of lose interest.
@@murphykenji mags are hard to find - there's high demand and being based off the p99, Walther ppq and PDP owners have been known to poach them as well. That being said, amazing guns for the price
I'll take a Glock over a Canik, but I'll take a Canik over a Glock clone any day. No other trigger for the price compares to a Canik trigger. GunMagWarehouse usually have Canik(Mecgar)mags in stock, and they're normally only 5-7 bucks over the price of a Glock mag. I also like the fact that the shitty kydex holster Canik ships with does the job, and it fits Glock 17, 19, 19x, 45's, and CZ P10 series pistols. Some people argue they can't support Canik because they're made in Turkey, yet they fill their homes and closets with Chinese crap while posting from their iPhones. Caniks are a win for me.
@@nadirthebottomrock6706 I am amazed at the people who won't buy something from a country perceived to have a government unfriendly to America. I picked one up with optic cut and 3 mags. For $340 I figured it can’t be that bad. I have not hit range with it yet. In Dryfire it feels good. Hit the range in the morning.
Time Traveler from 2024 here: Glock 19 G5s are currently chilling around $650, while the Dagger is chilling right around $350-$400. Definitely worth it!
So a cheaper copy of a Glock ends up feeling like a cheap copy of a Glock. Color me shocked. Always appreciate you bringin us the "what's what" though!
Nobody was doing Stryker guns until glock made it popular. Since then everybody has copied or made there own version. I havent seen a pistol copied so much. Maybe the cz 75 has more copies.
I've put 2000 rounds in my PSA Full Size Dagger. Hasn't jammed once, haven't had any issues with it. Best damn investment. And you can buy 3 of them for the price of a glock
I built a few P80’s and I didn’t like them. The frames never felt like they were up to the same spec as Glock OEM. I’m pretty handy with precision tools and although I got them to work, I would never call them self defense reliable. P80 has had several batches of out of spec frames over the years and their QC varies wildly. While I totally and completely understand the benefit of an unserialized firearm a law abiding citizen can assemble from parts at home, it just never felt like the quality and reliably was there. My P80’s were strictly range toys and learning tools to teach me firearms engineering, so to speak.
I agree! You can get a whole pistol for the cost of an aftermarket slide for your P80 build. Once PSA has all the bits in stock regularly, it will be the place to shop for building one.
@@leroyjenkins4811 guess im lucky, never had anything out of spec in the last couple builds ive made, and the glass filed nylon #6 that p80 uses is just as strong if not stronger than Glock poylmor IMO, never got my frames to flex. I no this is an older video, but I just pick up a use psa dagger compact with night sights out the for 260.00. I already have mags at home so I thought it was a good deal. I just there’s not a bad reason the previous owner traded it in. I will update when I finally get to the range. Thank u for all you do. You guys are great.
Ordered one with night sights. $329 plus tax and free shipping. I was looking for a backup gun under $400 for a little while. It being able to take my glock mags is a big plus.
Fast forward 1year. Threaded barrel w/thread protector, suppressor height sites w/tritium front RMR cut slide and comes in FDE. My friend picked hers for $341.00 w/free shipping. Yes the trigger sucked, but thank you Timney for resolving that issue.
Until I handle 1 of these, shoot it & see how reliability is long term, I still like Canik the best for budget pistols. Ive got a TP9Elite SC with a 407k for my beater. Reliable & a great trigger.
I get that people love their Canik's. But I don't especially endorse buying stuff from countries whose governments hate us, and keep in mind Glock and it's clones have nearly limitless selection and support for magazines/accessories/ holsters/ sights etc etc etc. The complete Dagger frames are going for a hun when they're in stock, the ergos are interesting. ...to be fair, Palmetto State Armory is in the United States, which also currently has a government that mostly hates us...

Thank you Honest Outlaw for actually giving honest and truthful reviews. I watched several of that guy named Scooter Pants or Skippy, or something like that? Loving all of your content. I would like to recommend an The Honest Outlaw series of reviews titled “You can do better by spending a little bit more”. As an example what else can you consider if you spend an additional 100 dollars instead of getting the PSA Dagger.
The dagger is a great gun and many of us waited years to get our hands on one. I'm buying another soon. Super accurate and wouldn't hesitate putting it against higher tier Gucci guns
@@c10rich41 are you saying you would put this up against a higher end gun because of the accuracy or you would just put this up against a Gucci gun because of value?
@@calsol22 the grip alone beats out the glock. Palm swell is excellent. Accuracy. You're getting a gen3 glock but better imo. Get one in hand and go shoot it. No complaints from me. End of the day it's still a glock clone at 300 beans but I dig it.. Well exceeded my expectations.
Current content notwithstanding, sounds like a great series, I have always used that exact theory (spend a little, get the best value) and it almost wyas works....
As of march 2023 they are selling for $300 & up (for various models) in south Ga & i bout mine after watching your reviews & a few others first because i am not really a big glock fan sense I don’t have oversized hands & think this has a much better grip then the Glock G19 ever had. Thanks for the informative review & keep making great content. Me & my hole family (even my kids) like watching your videos.
If fit/finish and reliability are a match to Glock, youll never be able to tell me a $550 Glock w/ 3 mags is better than a Dagger with 10 Pmags, threaded barrel, and supressor height night sights for $350.
Good review. For something that is supposed to be at $300 and compete with say the Taurus G3 it would probably be a good value. At $500? Well that is what I paid for my PPQ as well as my VP9 so it definitely wouldn't be in the running.
I love your reviews. Those are sold for $300 everyday now. I'm not sure where you bought it for $500 but you got duped. The trigger is not great but we'll see how it does after a polish job. Mine fits my hand perfectly and the grip is outstanding in comparison to a Glock. It's a shame they didn't design the trigger guard to fit G19 holsters, but I have a feeling that will change in future models. Yes, time will tell but I believe it will be a best seller for the next few years.
Fast forward to 2023 and there are now frames in Pink, Zombie Green, Yellow, Orange, purple... And now the Micro Dagger guns are out. Glock 43x/48 clones with 15 round mags.
Bizarre that anyone would buy a PSA Dagger in the $500-600 range. Its entire reason for existing is the $300 sticker price. You can buy a Walther PDP Compact -- arguably best in class -- for $600.
Terrific review! Somebody needs to do a “compare and contrast”/review of all the Gen 3 clones. Had a Gen 2 19 1995-08 and hated it. Got an Agency Syndicate last year and (mostly) like it, but pricey. Recently got a P80 PFC9 and absolutely love it, just a solid pistol right out of the box. To be honest I’m thinking about getting the PF9, too. So, including the Dagger in the list, we see big differences in the clones. It would be nice to compare more of the clones vs. the Brand-that-shall-not-be-named.
@@sofloflow That’s what the Agency Syndicate was! Ordered it from Brownells and a few days later there it was on my door step, ready to cut and build. You’re right, very fun! And educational as I got to see that the P80 frame is as close to perfect as possible for my hand size. That’s why I bought the PFC9. And it’s freaking awesome, the one I want to pick up and shoot. The Syndicate has the tightest tolerance upper I’ve seen in any pistol but the trigger feels squishy to me (could be something I did wrong in assembly but a local gunsmith says it’s fine). Yes, I’d suggest everyone build a pistol.
Before the world fell apart the advertised a 2nd tier one that came with a threaded barrel and MOS cut. It's that one for me, never see any reviewers with one yet.
Just found this review as I am considering the Dagger. As of 1/14/23 it is in stock in FDE with 10 mags and soft case for $370. I can't touch a used or PD Glock for less than $399 in my area.
HO needs to revisit this. Just purchased a Dagger with RMR cut, threaded barrel for $299. PSA has packages with this same pistol, 10 15 round magazines and a soft case for $409.
About one month after this review, these are getting restocked pretty often on the PSA website for $300 or $350 for the cerakote versions. They're still selling out quickly, but we're talking a couple of hours vs the six minutes that you had to deal with when the review was originally written. I easily got one in FDE ordered by just checking the website after 4pm est. Haven't actually gotten it yet, so I can't comment on quality, but it seems the biggest complaint in these early reviews (very much deserved) was availability, which is starting to straighten itself out. Don't spend Glock money on these. It's supposed to be a $300 gun.
Just bought a used PSA dagger 02/02/23. I has an aftermarket trigger, it came cut for optics suppressor height sights and it has a threaded barrel. The previous owner claims that he put 3 to 4 hundred rounds through it. I got it for just over 300$ I am happy. I plan to mount an Vortex Venom optic, and after some range time put this pistol in my daily carry rotation.
My uncle bought 2 last week for MSRP, and ever since I've been seeing them in stock pretty consistently... Only bummer is the version with threaded barrel and suppressor sites has been rare and the rmr cut slides they promised at shot show hasn't been released yet at all
Just got my dagger, rmr slide , threaded barrel, and supressor sights, $399, trigger feels smooth, same long pull and mushy wall as my gen 5 mos but the daggers trigger is smoother and cleaner out of the factory, but still shit compared to a g 43 factory trigger. My only complaints, racking the slide it sound like nails on a chalkboard, serious metal grinding needs some moly or to break in and the slide fit to the frame is kinda crap, large gap at muzzle below the guide rod and it teeters front to back and twists side to side
Just bought a dagger lower for 99.00 and two day later picked up a DAGGER COMPLETE RMR SLIDE ASSEMBLY WITH EXTREME CARRY CUTS & AMERIGLO LOWER 1/3 CO-WITNESS NIGHT SIGHTS, BLACK DLC for 165.00 so with tax and transfer 320.00 complete. Ordered a TTI Grand Master Connector Kit 39.99. Now just need a Halosun and boom. I have a extra barrel already.
Your reviews rock! I have bought several guns based upon your reviews and have not been disappointed! You are one of the very few reviewers that I trust to give the real truth.
One year later just bought a Dagger with all their carry cuts, slide windows and their gator mouth cut, rmr slide cut, gold threaded barrel basically everything they offer for this pistol for $299 ! Not a better deal on the market than the PSA Dagger. This pistol is also more accurate than most people can shoot. Now it's time to try the Micro Dagger !
Just scrolled your videos looking for a breakdown of the gen5 glock that made an appearance in this review. Did I miss it and if so, would you mind posting the specs? Thanks for all that you do bro. The consistency of your unbiased and honest reviews make this channel my first stop before dropping money on a firearm.
I'd argue the APX Centurion would be the affordable clock clone. Yet it's built better out of the box for less than $400. Fully modular! I know you enjoyed the one you reviewed and I'd recommend one to anybody. More and more aftermarket and OEM mods day by day.
They’re having a sale right now where I just picked up one with an RMR cut and a threaded barrel, plus a soft carry case and 5, 27 round mags and 5, 15 round mags all for under $500 cannot wait!
As always a through, in depth review and honest review. An interesting pistol but like you I don't think it is something I would rush out to purchase. 👏👍
I have the hinged trigger on my M&P m2.0. I'm ok with it. It took some getting used to keeping my finger high up. It's just one more variable. Not a great idea overall in my opinion
I was ok with mine too. Put an apex daek in it though. Not the forward set kit. Left all the stock springs too. So trigger pull is light. It’s quite good. The PDP might be as good. Never compared them side by side. But other than that nothing compares. It’s my favorite plastic gun. Low bore axis + excellent trigger = cheat code for shooting.
I’m not sure what Chris is talking about on the trigger or build quality. In my opinion (I’m also a competitive shooter and gunsmith, the trigger is slightly better than a gen 3/4 trigger, and the frame is the best fitting frame anybody makes in a 19 clone hands down.
I'm confused why no one hasn't just waited till the dagger is in stock at PSA and have it sent to your local shop. You'd be out $330 for this gun and if you are on their mailing list they restock about every other week.
Anybody else get tricked by the Windows notification at 1:45? Really appreciate the review, it seems like an interesting alternative to some Caniks; I still think that I'd go for a Canik as a budget purchase though strictly because of their insane value.
In plastic mags in a very hot pistol yes. Plastic expands. I've seen it with ETS mags at classes. I only run OEM glock mags in my 19 so I haven't had it happen to me.
I own a gen one I got in '87 I think, carried it on duty offshore for almost 30 years... A mag get stuck? Never. Only problem was crappy ammo a couple times.
Here in 2024: there are 3 versions all about 350$ in stock. Sales happen regularly on the frames and slides and people can get them under 300$ that way.
This might be one of your only reviews I have a lot of disagreement with, but I have medium hands. I find the fit and finish, ergonomics and refinements in this to be extremely superior to any Glock or any other Glock clone I've ever owned or shot. Absolutely superb texture, rounding, grip flare, mag release, etc. Hands down the best Glock lower ever made. Trigger is shit, but fixed on my copies now.
Came back to this review after putting about 1000 rounds myself on one I picked up a couple months ago. I agree with you. I dig his reviews, but he had a real biased bug up his ass on this one. Everything about it runs perfectly. I reload and have put everything from screaming hot to powder puff loads through it, *trying* to make it malfunction, and it ate all of it without a single stutter. It feels great, points great, and after so many rounds and even more dry firing, the trigger is more than functional. Zero failures after 1000+, and I can group double taps in under 2 inches at 10-15 yards. It's my new carry gun.
@@thriwaway7865 fire it. It smooths out. It also doesn't hurt to just make sure you're accustomed to each gun you own. Everyone puts way too much stock in a good trigger. You can be a damn good shot with anything if you become familiar with it.
@@CrashRacknShoot thanks for the advice! I usually stick with all oem parts and just get used to it, but my first gun was a canik so I was spoiled from the jump 😬 happy shootin friend! 🤠
@@thriwaway7865 I should mention I'm in a very similar boat. 1911s, CZs, Caniks, all before I got a dagger. Was never in short supply of quality firearms. But the things the dagger has going for it is reliability and inexpensive. These are good things for me because a cheap, reliable gun is exactly what I want for a carry piece. Why? Because should you have to use it in a defensive situation, it'll be in lockup for 1-2 years (at least in my area) while the case gets sorted out. I don't want a safe queen being in some shitty police "storage" for that long. It'll get beat up, rusted, all that. Id rather have something where I dont mind it taking that abuse. So instead, I got really good with a dagger. I got 1000 rounds through mine now, and I can print very tight groups well past self defense distances simply from trying. I now have full confidence in it keeping me safe and at a great price point. A "meh" trigger also gets you *very* good with your other guns, so there is a lot of benefit to it. If you're thinking on one, go for it, my guy.
Currently Sept. 2023... I build one of these up for $50 on the lower and $330 on the upper (SW5, optics mountable, gold barrel version). I also bought a GG Magwell for $35 to improve the feel of the small handguard. Also got 3 Magpul magazines for $35. All in I built mine for $450 with all of the bells and whistles. Hard to beat. If you want to add a Timney trigger... add another $120, and for $570 you've got pretty BA little Gucci shooter for the price of a Gen 5 Glock 19 with no extras. If you want to add a threaded barrel option on there... it's only $20 more.
Notice that Honest Outlaw said he wouldn't keep this gun. I think that statement alone speaks volumes about the Dagger 9. Most likely, you're going to spend thousands of dollars on ammo, so it might make sense to buy a quality gun that you really want to own rather than focusing on the cost of the firearm itself.
@H K You make an excellent point. The Glocks I've seen that look and feel great have been fully customized with a new trigger, front and rear sights, and guide rod, plus slide and frame work, all of which can add $1,500 to $2,000 to the cost of the pistol. That's way out of my league.
Most people who will buy this gun are too broke to afford thousands of rounds of ammo, don't care much about training, and are gonna shoot it twice then throw it in their glove box and forget that it exists.
I respectfully disagree.. he has extra large hands that’s why he’s not keeping it. Medium sized hand shooters will love this gun. I’ll be ordering soon since accepts all my existing Glock mags.. worst case I replace with Glock trigger.. still saving ton of $$$ and all my gear still matches up 💪🇺🇸
I picked up a All FDE model with RMR cut, suppressor ht sights, and threaded barrel in a nice case for under 399 . Never owned a glock for many reasons, but I want to support USA companies like Palmetto.
2024 here and $249 base dagger well worth the price
I love it. I dont care what all the gun snobs out there say about PSA.. they really make a great product and the prices are incredibly fair. Things dont have to be disgustingly over priced to be good.
Exactly
Palmetto is known for price gouging and taking advantage of customers same as CTD. What makes you think they’re using quality materials for these guns?
@@mapled3135 in what world is $300 price gouging? PSA is one of the few American manufacturers with available guns right now, and that includes their ARs. I own 0 PSA products but it doesn’t take a genius to see that they’re basically giving guns away (per their mission statement. )
Who’s talking about that gun? They sell that POS for $300 because they have no choice.
And like their mission statement says they want to arm as many Americans as possible with quality working guns
And when the shtf it's going to be hard to find a fan cleaner then
Should i ever see them for MSRP or below i'll just buy 10 of them. Even if i just bury them for shtf, they'd still make a great inflation hedge investment. And if i can have a reliable gun in every room of the house and two in the shower, i'm basically an action hero. At lest so i was told...

@Chris G it was probably mia1shooter's idea to hit the car lots. Not used. The NEW car lot. 🔥 🚗🔥
Glock isn’t trying to take the bottom of the market they will let Taurus and the likes have that
Try finding Canik mags tho
Still happy with my $329 Beretta APX Centurion.
They are showing up in stock alot this week. I bought one last Friday with DLC coating and night sights. They sold out quick, but popped back up today
With a cerakote sniper green finish
sharp looking window milled slide
RMR rear sight w/ cover plate & threaded barrel
Stainless steel guide rod
Suppressor height sights (ugly day sights)
"Extreme carry cuts"
(10) 15 round p-mags
And a carry bag
Imo that's one hell of a deal
I’m debating on purchasing the same deal you got. Do you think its worth it?
How is it holding up so far?
@@Davyw95 fantastic!
Garbage, just because it looks cool it doesn’t mean you smile when you see shit 🤷♂️

The trigger pin appears to be walking out in the pistol reviewed here as well.
Good data points!
I'd buy this over a used G19 all day, every day!!
sounds fucking awful, thanks for the review
@@DK-gy7ll I saw that as well at the 8:52 mark.
Glock trigger/etc pins are cheap af. Have you tried a different set of pins?
I bought a $300 base Dagger model six weeks ago as a magazine-compatible companion pistol for my PC carbine. Since I am not a big fan of Glock's grip shape, plastic standard sights, or trigger safety bar, the Dagger checked all of my boxes for "something different" while using Glock magazines and being relatively inexpensive. I have been very pleasantly surprised at how well the Dagger suits me compared to a Glock 19.
As someone who has frequented Palmetto State Armory, I truly appreciate this review!
If someone wanted their first gun, this is usually one of my first recommendations if they’re on a budget. Glock accessories are so available and inexpensive compared to the rest of the market. PSA has been doing good work. My dagger I’ve had over a year now with no issues or malfunctions
How many rds ?
@ at this point probably 1500+. Not had any issues. And it’s broken in really nicely, trigger and slide are pretty smooth.
Sept 28th 2023 just bought a frame for 49.99 an a complete slide with barrel and recoil spring for 189.99
I got a blem with Docter cut for a red (green) dot for $300. In 2023 the trigger isn't bad, and once I got it zeroed it STACKS rounds in the target at 10 yds. The grip fits my hand better than a Glock, and the Dagger doesn't feel as slide heavy as a Glock. I'm very happy with mine, especially for the price.
If you shop medium diligently, you can always get one with either an RMR or Dr Cut, suppressor height sights and threaded barrel for $299.
Second the original comment.

@@tyson1499buy from them directly. Daily deals, good bundles, and cheaper prices then your local store
Thanks for taking pride in your work. What America used to be.
Shit if I worked there I'd be like johnny cash. One piece at a time, and it didn't cost me a dime 😂

The TX 22 feels like it was designed for my hand.
Agreed. I love my TX22. It’s the only pistol I’ve ever owned that felt like an extension of my hand.
Aug 2023. $339 with 10- 15rd mags and bag. So far, I've put about 150rds through it and got dialed in, but the trigger is not great. (and I've been carrying a Gen1 M&P Sheild for years) Anyway, it is an easy fix and I am happy with the purchase.
I bought mine for 350 with the tritium sights. Love mine. It has run like a beast straight from the box with no cleaning or lube so far.

Aug 24 ,,, Couldn't pass up $259
I know this video is a year old but I just had to watch it again as I've been thinking of buying one . As usual, a very informative video. By the way FYI: PSA sells dagger out the door for $329 at the moment.
I bought a complete lower for 99$ and it came with a striped ar lower for free.
@@Matt-to1bi I bought 2 complete dagger lowers for 119.99 one regular and one full size today
I dont have Frankenstein hands but im also not a glock guy (glock ergos, cant stand them) so im giving this a try, already loving it
Are these beans you speak of sort of like peas or humus ? WTF
I like your mention of accuracy being hugely determined by ergonomics and overall contact points with a gun, and the mention of trigger pulls on a pistol vs rifle
Yeah, but he's like 9'3" so his "ergos" are gonna be completely different than most.
I can’t get over how much better the ergos are on the Dagger frame compared to both the Glock frames and the Polymer 80 frames.
For individuals. People with bigger hands hate the ergos because theres no modularity for the grip.
@@danielblair6592 Duh?
Three years later, I picked up a complete frame for $50, and an optics cut slide with a threaded barrel for $200. Works great.
Where are you seeing Daggers for $500-$600?
dude this is from 2 years ago they were hard to find at MSRP then
As of now you with the PSA daily deals, you can build one for under 300 with a 4.5" barrel, and 3 mags. Definitely pulling ahead at this point.

As someone addicted to building p80's I'm far more excited about PSA tooling up to make glock parts!
I bet.
@@leroyjenkins4811 the v2 frames are consistent, I think the real problem is the rails
For your second P80, you should try building it yourself. Sure is fun!
PSA Dagger Full-Size on their website with 10 mags for $380 right now, you can grab the compact with a threaded barrel as well
Before the world fell apart the advertised a 2nd tier one that came with a threaded barrel and MOS cut. It's that one for me, never see any reviewers with one yet.
Just found this review as I am considering the Dagger. As of 1/14/23 it is in stock in FDE with 10 mags and soft case for $370. I can't touch a used or PD Glock for less than $399 in my area.
Thanks for the 1000 round review. Will you be doing a 1000 round review on the a Rex Delta Gen. 2?
I got it for just over 300$
I am happy.
As always a through, in depth review and honest review. An interesting pistol but like you I don't think it is something I would rush out to purchase. 👏👍
I just bought my second Dagger. Paid $480 total for both. PSA is unbelievable
I have the hinged trigger on my M&P m2.0. I'm ok with it. It took some getting used to keeping my finger high up. It's just one more variable. Not a great idea overall in my opinion
Triggers I've never cared about I usually change them out anyway
Has anyone had their magazine
get stuck in a Glock or any other modern pistol? I’ve never encountered that issue.
What did you do about the trigger? Looking to get one of these and have become overly spoiled to my Canik trigger 😅
@@aldousorwell3807 I think you're absolutely correct.
