@@mmotorcycles9497 I never would have thought of it that way. It is also interesting to read your comment about how a CBR 900RR was like an AMA racer in a previous video. Those days are so far that some of my riding buddies aren't even around anymore, and most don't ride. I started riding sport bikes in 1992 and I don't know of anyone of my original crew that still rides sport bikes anymore. I rode with a few 916's back in the day, and a 748 too. Good times!
You teasing me bro`... The `98 R1 is my ultimate, all time Favourite! I was talking to She Wolf about trying to find a tidy version in Red and White, just this morning, it`s like you read my mind! If I got my greasy little digits on that, I would love it so much, I would even take it in the the bedroom at night and gaze at it while falling asleep. 🏍💨 (Why does everyone forget about the Yamaha Yzf1000R ?) 🙂👌
The first of the liter-bike contestants, something Yahama always had its eye on, considering they had one of the top performers in their time: the FZR1000. Others would join in the liter bike supremacy: 2001 came the GSX-R, 2004 came the CBR 1000RR & the ZX-10R, 2008 came the S1000RR. The liter-bike class was for top riders. Anything more than 1000 was too heavy or better suited for drag racing. Anything less probably wasn't the fastest on the twisty roads.
That was a dream bike for everyone. I bought a Ducati 748 the year before so I never considered getting on as I already had a crazy expensive bike payment. I’d like to get one now and might at some point.
The music don’t get any more classic just a heads up for watch time to count I believe videos have to be over 3 min I could be wrong but it use to be like that
Yamaha will always be my favorite. Their design cues just resonated with me.
I loved when a new model would come out and be just totally ground breaking
I remember it well… all the bike mags of the day going crazy over it.. & how much better it now was over the old Fireblade 😭😂👍🏼
The styling was compared to the 916 back then but with a Japanese twist

Also great minds think alike

So true. The upped the game to high levels that the other companies could just slap something together hence the years it took to answer back.
Yamaha looked better with the Red and White theme.
I really liked the blue one that year.
I wanted this soooooooo bad!

@@mmotorcycles9497 I had a bike I paid $1200 for at the time, the new R1 was way out of my price range!

Had no idea I’ll check. I’m so far from that anyway
@@mmotorcycles9497 I get it I just figured I would let you know so you can close the gap
