I had a Volkswagen Taos as a loaner for 5 days and I liked it. It was nimble, fun to drive, ride was good, a little bit of road noise but I thought would be a good buy as a first car for a kid or college graduate. I was also impressed with the fuel economy and I'd buy a Taos if I were looking for a vehicle in that segment

Actually kinda surprising the Taos has the issues stated since it's basically the only non-GTI Golf we get in the U.S. In Europe the latest Golf is still well regarded even if they have the same complaints we do about the infotainment and haptic feedback buttons. I guess the Taos is different enough from the normal Golf it has it's very own issues?

Jeep quaility has gone down hill since stellantis bought them and the #'s indicate why , stellantis has chosen to invest more cash in other of its companies like Alfa Romeo and has spent very little improving Jeep's quality...just glancing at the recall lists and customer satisfaction surveys over this time period indicate this same fact.

Nissan makes shitty cars with CVT. People should investigate Mazda's offers. They all have the Zoom Zoom spirit and are all a hoot to drive; always tops in IIHS and NHTSA safety ratings, and extremely reliable. The Miata is probably the best car on the road today for driving pleasure. Every driver (on TH-cam) who drives it has a stupid grin on their face, and smile/laugh uncontrollably. Pure joy! If you're stuck in traffic 100 hours a year, at least make it enjoyable.
