    I watch a lot of shelling videos, but I must say that yours are truly exceptional. It is not just the shells that you find, but the entire presentation. You capture some of the most beautiful scenery as a backdrop to your shelling --very artistic presentation. I also appreciate the soothing music and the oppportunity to look along with you as you show the shell piles in such a way that we can see and search as well. I like the fact that you pick up a wide variety of shells and give us the names on screen so that we can learn what they are. Finally, as someone else mentioned in their comments, I like not having constant chit-chat in the background. So peaceful to watch and learn. My favorite show was the one that you taped in Maine. Lovely. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

    𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗜𝗗 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: The Natica shown at 6:53 I believe is actually a "𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘢". I have struggled to properly identify this Natica ever since I found it.
    You can find more info on it here:

    Awesome finds! I've heard many people say there's no shells on the east coast but that's clearly not the case. That shark eye and hawkwing conch were killer! Not to mention all the lion's paws! Have you ever found one on the west coast of FL? They seem so much rarer there than on the east. That queen helmet was awesome too! Interestingly, I've found one on Sanibel that was broken the exact same way as yours was. I wonder if it was from the same predator. Happy shelling!

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found that there can be shells virtually anywhere, you just have to go at the right times and have a little luck on your side! 😂. Honestly though, some of the places that promise the most shells can sometimes disappoint, and some of the places you never expected to be great, are phenomenal.
      I have actually never found a HW on the WC of Florida, though I think someone found one recently in the 10k islands from an IG post I saw. I have only found them on FL east coast and in the Caribbean(lots in the Caribbean!) Happy shelling to you too, and thanks for watching!

    Your Atlantic hairy triton is the first I’ve seen in a Florida shelling video, I found one last week here in Navarre slightly larger than the ones you found but with less color. Must be the winter bringing them onto the beach?

    • @solaceinshelling6552

      I have actually found a few of them on FL east coast, though I will admit they are a more uncommon find! I really want to get up to the panhandle to do some shelling! There's some great shelling channels focused in that region - this area also seems to produce some of the same shells you can find on FL east coast!

Of course I laughed when you got soaking wet LOL. At least it's not the 50° water like we have over here on the Pacific coast in Oregon. That water gives you a shock that takes your breath away.

      Hello! On any extended beach hike, I am usually out before sunrise(or at least try to be). I will sometimes hike at least a couple miles(if where I am at is a longer stretch of beach), but sometimes it's nice to stay put in one spot and snorkel for beach treasures! I make sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks with me!
