I was a National Serviceman 1957 to may 1959 in the then Somerset LI. A good education for my later life an’d i never regretted it. I love hearing the LI music...very nostalgic.
Great video, I was in 6LI in the mid 80's so recognise the old Light Infantry parade ground in Winchester and the then new barracks nearby as did my 2 weeks recruits cadre there.
My dad died when I was 10 years old after spending all his time in the army, so I never really got to know him if anyone knew of him he was called Anthony Jones id love to hear from them, as you were!
Great pics there mate, spotted Micky M there, he gets everywhere, I covered Clogher in 89, did the same PVCP's, never met McGuigan at Killyvilly (I think that's the nearest one to Clones, memory is shite now) My battle partner from Basic was Alex L 1 LI RIP buddy. Great memories from your pics, cheers for that.
Great set of pics and great memories. Good to see some faces I haven’t seen for years. All the best fella.
Brother's from The Light Infantry, I was STAB in 5th Royal Green Jackets. Respect.
Feeling nostalgic and having a trawl, I come across this. I remember you from LDD in 91 as a 17 yr old (Minden Pl) I'm 40 now. All the best.
